A
In the age of social distancing, using robots for some health care interactions is a promising way to reduce in-person contact between health care workers and sick patients. However, a key question is how patients will react to a robot entering the room. Researchers from MIT and Brigham and Women’s Hospital recently set out to answer that question.
In a study, the team found that a large majority of patients reported that interacting with a health care provider through a video screen fixed on a robot was similar to an in-person interaction with a health care worker.
“We’re working on robots that can help provide care to ensure the safety of the patient and the health care workforce. The results of this study give us some confidence that people are ready and willing to join us. In a larger online survey carried out nationwide, we also found that a majority of respondents were open to having robots perform small tasks such as taking a nose swab (拭子).” says Giovanni Traverso, an MIT assistant professor and the senior author of the study.
After the COVID-19 pandemic began early last year, Traverso and his colleagues turned their attention toward new strategies to reduce interactions between potentially sick patients and health care workers. To that end, they created a mobile robot that could interact with patients as they waited in the emergency department. The robots were equipped with sensors that allow them to measure vital signs, including skin temperature, breathing rate, and pulse(脉搏) rate. The robots also carried an iPad for remote video communication with a health care provider.
The study suggests that it could be worthwhile to develop robots that can perform tasks that currently require a lot of human effort, such as turning a patient over in bed. These days, turning COVID-19 patients onto their stomachs requires several people. Doing Covid-19 tests is another task that takes a lot of time and effort from health care workers, who could be arranged for other tasks if robots could help.
1. Why did the researchers from MIT and BWH carry out the studies?
A. To shorten the social distance between doctors and patients.
B. To figure out the response of patients to robotic doctors.
C. To reduce the risk of being infected with coronavirus.
D. To ensure the safety of patients during the pandemic.
2. What could be learned from the study?
A. Robots are not welcomed by patients.
B. Robots will soon replace doctors.
C. Robots may help to deal with Covid-19 patients.
D. Robots can operate on different patients.
3. Which of the following is the best title for the text?

Hardware in general, and smartphones in particular, have become a huge environmental and health problem in the Global South's landfill sites(垃圾填埋场).
Electronic waste(e-waste) currently takes up 5 percent of all global waste, and it is set to increase rapidly as more of us own more than one smartphone, laptop and power bank They end up in places like Agbogbloshie on theoutskirts of Ghana's capital,Accra. It is the biggest e-waste dump in the world, where 10,000 informal workers walk through tons of abandoned goods as part of an informal recycling process. They risk their health searching for the precious metals that are found in abandoned smartphones.
But Agbogbloshie should not exist. The Basel Convention,a 1989 treaty, aims to prevent developed nations from unauthorized dumping of e-waste in less developed countries. The e-waste industry, however, circumventsregulations by exporting e-waste labelled as "secondhand goods' to poor countries like Ghana, knowing full well hat it is heading for a landfill site.
A recent report found Agbogbloshie contained some of the most dangerous chemicals. This is not surprising: smartphones contain chemicals like mercury(水银),lead and even arsenic(砷).Reportedly, one egg from a free-range chicken in Agbogbloshie contained a certain
chemical which can cause cancer and damage the immune system at a level that's about 220 times greater than a limit set by the European Food Safety Authority(EFSA).Most worryingly, these poisonous chemicals are free to pollute the broader soil and water system. This should concern us all, since some ofGhana's top exports are cocoa and nuts.
Some governments have started to take responsibility for their consumers' waste. For example,Germanyhas started a project that includes a sustainable recycling system at Agbogbloshie, along with a health clinic for workers. However, governments cannot solve the problem alone, as there is an almost limitless consumer demand for hardware, especially when governments' green policies are focused on issues like climate change.
Only the manufacturers can fix this.A more economically sustainable and politically possible solution is through encouraging hardware manufacturers to make the repair, reuse and recycling of hardware profitable,or at least cost-neutral
4. What can we infer from Paragraph 2?
A. Electronic waste requires more landfill sites acrossGhana.
B. Electronic waste is too complex to get fully recycle
C. Electronic products need to be improved urgently
D. Electronic pollution is a burning question in Agbogbloshie
5. What does the underlined word "circumvents"in Paragraph 3 mean?

6. What should be the best concern according to the text?
A. The thread of polluted food around the world
B. The damage of chicken’s immune system
C. The lack of diversity inGhana's exports
D. The violation of EFSA's standards
7. What does the author think is the best solution to the e-waste problem?
A. Manufacturers' developing a sustainable hardware economy
B. Governments’ adjusting their green policies about e-waste.
C. Reducing customers' demands for electronic products
D. Manufacturers’ urging the government to make effective policies to ensure more profit.

Japan has announced emergency Covid measures in Tokyo and three other areas in order to control rising infections (传染病), just three months before the country is set to host the Olympics. Tokyo 2020 president Seiko Hashimoto said at a news conference on Friday that organizers were not considering canceling the event. “I hope the coronavirus situation improves with the prevention measures the government, Tokyo, and other regional governments have put into place,” she said. “We, as Tokyo 2020, continue to wish for the swift return to normal and will continue to work closely to make sure a safe and secure Olympics can happen.”

52.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。

When I first got the bird, it must have only just been hatched. Its mother had disappeared, leaving it alone and shivering in the face of the north wind. I decided to take it straight back and build it a new home.
At that time we grew a great many flowers in our house. Next to one hanging orchid (兰花) I hung another empty flowerpot and it was in this pot that the bird was to have its new home. When Dad got home, he immediately discovered the new addition to our family. Without saying a word, he turned around and left the house. After some time, he returned and I saw that he had a handful of grass and pine needles. Obviously, Dad thought the nest I had made was far too rough and so he had decided to decorate it himself.
“A bird born at this time of year won't survive the winter.” In spite of this prediction on the bird's future, Dad very carefully fashioned the nest himself. Soon I found “Nuo Nuo” (Dad had named him) had started to grow feathers. They looked like such fine little hairs that you could only notice them if you looked really closely. I only discovered them because every day I would cup him in my hands and look at him.
Dad probably realized that he had been a little cruel in his prediction. You see, he had already started training Nuo Nuo to walk. As you know, Nuo Nuo lived in a flowerpot, not a cage or anything. When he had nothing else to do, he walked around his little home. There were times when he was a bit naughty too and he jumped down onto our dining table.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右。

2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

It was obvious that Nuo Nuo didn't realize he was a bird.
