My family这是一个和学生的实际生活有着密切联系的内容,突显了语言的真实性与实用性。
在教学中，如果能够充分发掘、利用生活中对教学有用的素材，结合多媒体资源，为学生创设一个真实生动的语言情境，学生对学习也将会产生更浓的兴趣。
教材设计理念：根据国家《英语课程标准》的目标要求，结合小学生在不同学段的年龄特点和认知规律，本套教材偏重以学生为中心，将一、二级教学目标整体统筹规划并科学合理地分配到不同的年级，侧重培养学的生听、说、读、写能力，目标明确，循序渐进，确保学生在毕业时综合语言运用能力达到预期效果。
在语言技能的达成上，本教材遵循听说先行，读写跟上的原则。
在起始年级（三年级）本套教材重在培养学生学习英语的兴趣和简单的听说认读词汇和会话的能力，教学以主题的方式呈现，主要内容为Let’s learn 和Let’s talk；二、说教学目标1、知识目标：（1）95%能够熟练认、读、写表示家庭成员的英语单词father (dad),mother (mom), grandfather(grandpa), grandmother (grandma), man, woman。
（2）90%的同会唱本单元的英语童谣《Father and Mother》，通过学唱本英文歌曲，巩固所学单词，培养学生的学习兴趣。
2、能力目标：(1)88%的同学会运用句型：How many people are there in your family?进行询问搭档，并且能回答：There are….. people in my family.同时熟练的运用句型：This is my family ,he is my …\she is my…简单介绍自己的家庭成员。
(2) 85%的同学在老师的帮助下可以画出自己家的family tree.3、情感目标：注重培养学生热爱家庭,热爱生活的美好情感。
