学校现在和以前的变化教室里英语作文
学校现在和以前的变化教室里英语作文【中英文实用版】**English Essay: Changes in the Classroom: Then and Now**In the evolving journey of education, the transformation of the classroom environment is a testament to the progress we have made. The contrast between the classrooms of yesteryears and those of today is stark, reflecting the impact of technology and changing educational philosophies.Back then, classrooms were often characterized by rows of desks facing the blackboard. The teacher was the central figure, imparting knowledge through lectures and textbooks.Chalk and the blackboard were the primary tools for visual aids. The atmosphere was formal and structured, with limited interaction among students. The focus was primarily on rote learning and memorization.Today, classrooms have been revolutionized.Desks are arranged in clusters to facilitate group work and collaboration.Interactive whiteboards and projectors have replaced blackboards, bringing a wealth of digital resources into the learning process. The teacher now acts as a facilitator, encouraging students to explore and discover knowledge through discussions and hands-on activities. The emphasis is on critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.Furthermore, the integration of technology has beenptops and tablets are now common tools for students to access information, complete assignments, and engage in online learning platforms. This shift has not only made education more engaging but has also prepared students for the digital world they will enter. In addition to the physical changes, there has been a shift in the curriculum. There is a greater focus on holistic development, with extracurricular activities and sports being given as much importance as academic subjects. This approach aims to develop well-rounded individuals who are equipped not only with knowledge but also with life skills. The changes in the classroom reflect a broader change in society"s expectations from education. The shift from a teacher-centered to a student-centered approach is indicative of the recognition of the individuality and unique learning styles of each student. As we continue to evolve, the classroom of the future will undoubtedly look different, but the core aim will remain the same – to empower students to reach their full potential.**中文作文:教室的变化——过去与现在**在教育不断发展的旅程中,教室环境的转变见证了我们所取得的进步。

Through this experience, I have gained valuable insights and reflections on the importance of early English education and the effectivestrategies to implement it. In this essay, I will share my personalexperiences and thoughts on early English education, highlighting its significance and offering suggestions for better teaching practices.Firstly, it is essential to recognize the significance of early English education. The early years of a child's life are a crucial period for language acquisition and cognitive development. Studies have shown that children who are exposed to English language learning at an early age tend to have better language skills, higher academic achievements, and enhanced cognitive abilities in the long run. Early English education lays a solid foundation for future language learning and cansignificantly contribute to a child's overall development. One of the most significant advantages of early English education is the development of language skills. When children are exposed to English from a young age, they have a greater opportunity to develop a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. This early exposure helps them become more comfortable with the English language, enabling them to communicate effectively in various contexts. Moreover, early English education fosters a love for language learning, aschildren are more likely to be intrigued and motivated by learning a new language when they are young.Another crucial aspect of early English education is the enhancement of cognitive abilities. Research indicates that learning a second language can stimulate cognitive development, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and memory skills. By engaging in early English education, children can enhance their cognitive abilities, making them more adaptable and open to new experiences. This can be particularly beneficial in a globalized world where multilingualism is becoming increasingly important. In addition to the cognitive benefits, early English education also contributes to social and emotional development. Children who are exposed to English at an early age can better understand and appreciate different cultures, fostering a sense of empathy and tolerance. Furthermore, learning a new language can boost a child's self-confidence and self-esteem, as they gain a sense of accomplishment and independence.Based on my experience, here are some effective strategies for implementing early English education:1. Create a positive and supportive learning environment: Children are more likely to be engaged and motivated in learning when they feel comfortable and supported. As a teacher, it is essential to create a nurturing classroom atmosphere where children can express themselves freely and feel safe to make mistakes.2. Use age-appropriate materials and activities: Early English education should be tailored to the developmental level of the children. Usingage-appropriate materials and activities can help them grasp the language more effectively and enjoy the learning process.3. Incorporate play and storytelling: Play is a powerful tool in early childhood education. Incorporating games, songs, and storytelling into the curriculum can make learning more enjoyable and memorable for children.4. Encourage parent involvement: Parents play a vital role in theirchild's early English education. Encouraging parents to be involved in their child's learning process can help reinforce the language skills acquired in the classroom and create a consistent learning environment.5. Focus on oral language development: In early English education, it is essential to prioritize oral language development. Encourage children to speak, listen, and interact with the language as much as possible, as this will help them become more proficient in the language.6. Be patient and consistent: Learning a new language takes time and effort. As a teacher, it is crucial to be patient and consistent in your teaching approach, providing opportunities for children to practice and improve their language skills over time.In conclusion, early English education is a valuable investment in a child's future. By recognizing its significance and implementing effective teaching strategies, we can help children develop strong language skills, enhanced cognitive abilities, and a greater appreciation for different cultures. As an English teacher, I havewitnessed the positive impact of early English education on my students, and I believe that it is our responsibility to provide them with the best possible start in their language learning journey.第3篇Early childhood education, as a crucial stage in children's development, plays a vital role in shaping their future. It is a period when children are like sponges, absorbing knowledge and experiences. During my years of teaching, I have gained profound insights into early childhood education, and I would like to share my experiences and thoughts in this essay.First and foremost, I believe that creating a loving and nurturing environment is the foundation of early childhood education. Children need to feel safe, accepted, and valued in order to explore and learn. In my classroom, I always strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere, where children can express themselves freely. I have learned that when children feel loved and supported, they are more likely to develop a positive self-image and be confident in their abilities. One of the most important aspects of early childhood education is to foster children's curiosity and love for learning. Curiosity is the driving force behind all learning, and it is essential for children to develop a lifelong passion for knowledge. In my teaching, I always encourage children to ask questions, explore their surroundings, and investigate the world around them. By doing so, I have seen children become more engaged and motivated in their learning.Another key element in early childhood education is play. Play is not only a source of fun and entertainment, but it is also a powerful tool for learning. Through play, children can develop their creativity, problem-solving skills, and social interactions. In my classroom, I provide various types of play activities, such as pretend play, block play, and role-playing games, which allow children to learn in a hands-on and interactive manner. I have observed that when children are given the opportunity to play, they are more likely to develop a love for learning and be more successful in their academic pursuits. In addition to fostering curiosity and play, early childhood education should also focus on the development of social and emotional skills. Children need to learn how to interact with others, manage their emotions, and develop empathy. In my classroom, I incorporate social stories, group activities, and discussions to help children develop these essential skills. I have found that when children are equipped with strong social and emotional skills, they are more likely to succeed in both their personal and academic lives.Furthermore, it is crucial to tailor the curriculum to meet the individual needs of each child. Every child is unique, with their own strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles. As an early childhood educator, I believe it is my responsibility to identify and cater to each child's needs. By doing so, I have seen children make significant progress and achieve their full potential. To achieve this, I use a variety of assessment tools, such as observation, portfolios, andparent-teacher conferences, to gain a comprehensive understanding of each child's development. Moreover, early childhood education should emphasize the importance of language and literacy development. Language is the foundation of communication and learning, and it is essential for children to develop strong language skills at an early age. In my classroom, I incorporate language-rich activities, such as storytelling, singing, and reading, to help children develop their vocabulary, comprehension, and phonological awareness. I have witnessed the remarkable growth in children's language and literacy skills, which has paved the way for their future academic success. In conclusion, early childhood education is a critical period inchildren's lives, and it requires a holistic approach to ensure their overall development. By creating a loving and nurturing environment, fostering curiosity and play, emphasizing social and emotional skills, tailoring the curriculum to individual needs, and promoting language and literacy development, we can provide children with the best possible start in life. My years of experience in early childhood education have taught me that it is not just about imparting knowledge, but aboutnurturing the whole child, and that is what truly makes early childhood education a rewarding and fulfilling profession. As I continue to grow and learn in my role as an early childhood educator, I am reminded of the profound impact we can have on the lives of young children. By embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with this profession, we can help shape the future generation, one child at a time.。

关于人工智能代替老师教学的初中英语作文
关于人工智能代替老师教学的初中英语作文Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom: The Future of English Language TeachingThe rapid advancements in technology have revolutionized the way we approach education. One of the most significant developments in this realm is the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the classroom. As we look towards the future, the potential of AI to transform the way we teach and learn English in middle schools is undeniable. At the heart of this transformation lies the recognition that traditional teaching methods may no longer be sufficient to cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of today's students. AI-powered educational platforms offer a personalized and adaptive approach, tailoring the learning experience to the individual student's strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. One of the primary advantages of AI in English language teaching is its ability to provide personalized feedback and guidance. AI-powered tutoring systems can analyze a student's progress, identify areas for improvement, and offer targeted exercises and explanations to address their specific challenges. This level of personalization not only enhances the student's understanding of the subject matter but also fosters a sense of ownership and engagement in the learning process. Moreover, AI-powered virtual assistants can serve as interactive language partners, engaging students in conversational practice and providing real-time feedback on their pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary usage. This interactive approach not only helps students develop their communicative skills but also promotes a more natural and immersive learning experience.Another significant benefit of AI in English language teaching is its potential to revolutionize the way we assess student progress. AI-powered assessment tools can provide more comprehensive and accurate evaluations, analyzing a student's performance across a range of skills and providing detailed insights into their strengths and areas for improvement. This data-driven approach can inform both teaching strategies and curriculum development, ensuring that the educational content remains relevant and effective.Furthermore, AI-powered adaptive learning platforms can adjust the pace and difficulty of the content based on the student'sperformance, ensuring that they are challenged at the appropriate level and avoiding the frustration that can arise from content that is either too easy or too difficult. This adaptive approach not only enhances the student's engagement but also maximizes the efficiency of the learning process. One of the most compelling arguments for the integration of AI in English language teaching is its ability to extend the reach of quality education to underserved communities. In many parts of the world, access to qualified English language teachers can be limited, especially in rural or economically disadvantaged areas. AI-powered teaching solutions can bridge this gap, providing high-quality educational resources and personalized instruction to students who might otherwise lack access to such opportunities. However, it is essential to acknowledge the potential challenges and limitations of AI in the classroom. While AI can enhance and augment the teaching process, it should not be viewed as a replacement for human teachers. The human touch, empathy, and nuanced understanding that teachers bring to the classroom are irreplaceable. AI should be seen as a complement to the teacher's role, rather than a substitute.Additionally, concerns have been raised about the potential for AI to perpetuate biases and inequalities, particularly in the area ofassessment and evaluation. It is crucial that the developers of AI-powered educational tools address these concerns and ensure that the systems are designed with fairness, equity, and inclusivity in mind.Despite these challenges, the potential of AI in English language teaching is undeniable. As we look towards the future, it is clear that the integration of AI in the classroom will play a crucial role in shaping the educational landscape. By harnessing the power of AI to enhance and personalize the learning experience, we can empower students to become more engaged, motivated, and successful in their pursuit of English language proficiency. In conclusion, the integration of Artificial Intelligence in English language teaching for middle school students holds immense promise. From personalized feedback and adaptive learning to data-driven assessment and extended educational access, AI-powered solutions can revolutionize the way we approach language education. As we navigate this exciting new frontier, it is essential that we strike a balance between the advantages of AI and the irreplaceable value of human teachers, ensuring that the educational experience remains enriching, engaging, and equitable for all students.。

介绍国外学生的学习英语作文Learning English as a Foreign Language: Experiences of International StudentsIn today's increasingly globalized world, the ability to communicate effectively in English has become a valuable asset for individuals seeking academic and professional opportunities. For many international students, the pursuit of higher education often involves the challenge of navigating a new educational system and adapting to a foreign language. This essay aims to provide an insider's perspective on the experiences of foreign students in learning English as a second or foreign language. One of the primary motivations for international students to learn English is the recognition of its status as a dominant language in academia and the global marketplace. Many universities and colleges around the world offer programs and courses taught entirely in English, making proficiency in the language a crucial requirement for admission and successful academic performance. Students from non-English-speaking countries often face the daunting task ofimproving their English language skills to meet the demands of their chosen field of study. The process of learning English as a foreign language can be a complex and multifaceted journey for international students. For some, the initial exposure to the language may be limited, with little opportunity to practice outside the classroom. This can lead to challenges in comprehending lectures, participating in discussions, and completing written assignments. The differences in grammatical structures, pronunciation, and idiomatic expressions between the student's native language and English can further compound the learning process. To overcome these obstacles, international students often employ a variety of strategies and resources. Many seek out language classes or tutoring sessions to strengthen their foundation in English grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills. The use of language-learning applications, online resources, and immersive language environments can also prove beneficial in improving fluency and confidence.Beyond the classroom, international students may find opportunities to practice their English skills through extracurricular activities, social interactions, and part-time jobs. Engaging with native English speakers, whether it be fellow students, faculty members, ormembers of the local community, can provide valuable exposure to authentic language use and cultural nuances. These real-world interactions not only enhance language proficiency but also facilitate the development of cross-cultural understanding and interpersonal skills. The challenges faced by international students in learning English, however, extend beyond the linguistic realm. Adapting to a new educational system, navigating unfamiliar social norms, and overcoming cultural differences can all contribute to the overall adjustment process. International students may find themselves grappling with issues such as homesickness, academic stress, and feelings of isolation, all while striving to improve their English language abilities.Fortunately, many educational institutions recognize the unique needs of international students and have implemented various support systems to aid their transition and academic success. These may include specialized orientation programs, language support services, cultural integration activities, and counseling services. By leveraging these resources, international students can develop a sense of community, gain access to academic and social support, and ultimately enhance their overall educational experience. In conclusion, the experiences of international students in learningEnglish as a foreign language are multifaceted and often challenging. However, through a combination of language-learning strategies, immersive experiences, and institutional support, these students are able to overcome linguistic barriers and unlock new opportunities for personal and academic growth. The journey of learning English not only equips them with a valuable skill but also fosters cross-cultural understanding and adaptability – qualities that are highly sought after in today's globalized world.。

过去在学校不出名英语作文
过去在学校不出名英语作文In the tapestry of school life, there are countless stories woven by the threads of experiences, achievements, and the silent moments that often go unnoticed. One such story isthat of the students who, despite their best efforts, remain in the periphery of recognition, particularly in the realm of English composition. The English language, with its global prominence, has become a cornerstone of education. Students devote countless hours to mastering its intricacies, yet not all are celebrated for their linguistic prowess. Some write essays that are well-structured, articulate, and insightful, yet they remain in the shadows of their more vocal or recognized peers. These unsung authors often possess a quiet determination, preferring the solitude of their thoughts to the limelight of the classroom. Their essays may not be the first to be read aloud, nor their names the first to be mentioned when discussing academic excellence. However, the quality of their work is a testament to their diligence and understanding of the English language. The unnoticed past of these students is not a reflection of their abilities but rather a narrative of perseverance and silent success. Their essays, filled with thoughtful arguments and eloquent prose, are the silent symphonies of the classroom, heard only by those who take the time tolisten. In the grand scheme of school life, these students may not be the most famous, but their contributions to the academic community are no less significant. Their stories remind us that recognition is not always synonymous with talent or hard work. 介绍非遗文化进入课堂英语作文
介绍非遗文化进入课堂英语作文In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in education, particularly in the realm of language learning. Integrating ICH into the English language classroom not only enriches students' cultural awareness but also enhances their language proficiency and critical thinking skills. In this article, we will explore the significance of incorporating ICH into English writing assignments, highlighting its benefits and providing practical strategies for implementation.First and foremost, integrating ICH into English writing assignments fosters cultural appreciation and understanding among students. By exploring topics such as traditional crafts, rituals, folktales, and performing arts, students gain insights into the cultural values, beliefs, and practices of different communities around the world. This exposure not only broadens their perspectives but also cultivates empathy and respect for cultural diversity. Moreover, incorporating ICH into English writing assignments provides students with authentic and engaging content to write about. Instead of generic topics, such as "My Favorite Season" or "A Memorable Vacation," students can explore rich cultural narratives and traditions that resonate with their interests and experiences. For example, students can write about the significance of a particular festival in their culture, the history of a traditional craft passed down through generations, or the role of storytelling in preserving cultural heritage.Furthermore, integrating ICH into English writing assignments encourages creativity and critical thinking skills. Rather than simply regurgitating information, students are challenged to analyze and interpret cultural practices and artifacts, evaluate their significance, and articulate their thoughts and opinions effectively. For instance, students can compare and contrast similar cultural practices in different regions, examine the evolution of a traditional art form over time, or reflect on the cultural implications of globalization and modernization. In addition, incorporating ICH into English writing assignments promotes interdisciplinary learning by bridging language arts with other subject areas, such as history, social studies, anthropology, and environmental science. Through research-based writing projects, students can explore the historical and socio-cultural contexts of ICH, investigate its connections to broader societal issues, and examine its impact on the environment and sustainable development. To effectively integrate ICH into English writing assignments, educators can employ various pedagogical strategies. For example, they can incorporate multimedia resources, such as videos, photos, and audio recordings, to provide visual and auditory stimuli that enhance students' understanding and engagement. Additionally, educators can organize field trips or invite guest speakers from local communities to share firsthand experiences and insights related to ICH.Furthermore, educators can design scaffolded writing tasks that guide students through the process of brainstorming ideas, conducting research, organizing their thoughts, drafting their essays, and revising and editing their work. By providing feedback and support at each stage of the writing process, educators can help students develop their language skills while deepening their understanding of ICH.In conclusion, integrating intangible cultural heritage into English writing assignments offers numerous benefits for students, including cultural appreciation, authentic content, creativity, critical thinking skills, interdisciplinary learning, and meaningful engagement with diverse cultural perspectives. By embracing ICH as a valuable resource for language learning, educators can enrich the classroom experience and empower students to become global citizens who appreciate and celebrate the richness of human cultural heritage.。

作业越来越少的英语作文
作业越来越少的英语作文In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend towards reducing the amount of homework assigned in English classes. This shift has sparked a debate among educators, parents, and students alike. While some argue that less homework leads to a more balanced life and better learning outcomes, others contend that it may compromise the depth of understanding and the development of essential study skills. One of the primary reasons behind the reduction in English homework is the recognition of the importance of free timefor students. It is widely acknowledged that too much homework can lead to stress and burnout. By assigning fewer tasks, teachers aim to give students more time to engage in extracurricular activities, socialize with peers, and pursue personal interests, which are all crucial for their overall development. Moreover, the educational community has been increasingly advocating for more effective learning strategies that can be achieved within the classroom hours. Instead of relying on homework to reinforce learning, teachers are encouraged to employ active learning techniques, such as group discussions, debates, and creative projects, which can be completed during class time. This approach is believed to enhance students' critical thinking and communication skills without overburdening them with homework. However, critics of the reduced homework model express concerns that it may lead to a lack of discipline and a diminished work ethic among students. They argue that homework is a crucial tool for reinforcing what is learned in class and for developing self-study habits. Additionally, some contend that without regular homework assignments, students may not achieve the level of proficiency necessary to excel in English, particularly in areas such as grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis. In conclusion, the trend of assigning less homework in English classes is driven by the desire to create a more holistic educational experience and to promote more effective learning methods. While this approach has its merits, it is essential to ensure that students are still provided with the necessary tools and opportunities to master the subject. Balancing the workload with engaging and meaningful learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom is key to the success of this educational paradigm shift.。

In todays fastpaced world, the use of mobile phones has become ubiquitous, even in educational settings. The integration of technology in classrooms has both its advantages and disadvantages.Heres an essay on the topic of using mobile phones in class and its impact on English learning.Title:The Role of Mobile Phones in English ClassesIntroduction:The advent of smartphones has revolutionized the way we communicate, access information, and learn. As these devices become more sophisticated, their presence in educational environments has sparked debates about their influence on the learning process, particularly in English classes.Body Paragraph1:Enhancing Learning ExperienceMobile phones can serve as powerful tools in the classroom when used appropriately. For English learners, smartphones offer a plethora of applications that can aid in language acquisition. From dictionary apps that provide instant translations to language learning apps that offer interactive lessons, mobile phones can facilitate a more engaging and personalized learning experience.Body Paragraph2:Accessibility to ResourcesOne of the key benefits of using mobile phones in English classes is the accessibility they provide to a wealth of educational resources.Students can quickly look up unfamiliar words, listen to native speakers through audio clips, and even practice pronunciation with speech recognition software. This instant access to information can significantly enhance the depth and breadth of language learning.Body Paragraph3:Distraction and DistractionsHowever, the use of mobile phones in class also presents challenges. The potential for distraction is high,as students might be tempted to use their devices for noneducational purposes, such as social media or gaming. This can detract from the learning environment and diminish the effectiveness of classroom instruction.Body Paragraph4:Balancing ActTo harness the benefits of mobile phones while mitigating their drawbacks,a balanced approach is necessary.Teachers can establish clear guidelines for the use of mobile devices in class, integrating them into lesson plans where they can support the learning objectives. For example, using a mobile phone for a quick vocabulary quiz or to research a topic related to the English lesson can be both engaging and educational. Conclusion:In conclusion, mobile phones have the potential to significantly enhance English language learning when used thoughtfully and purposefully. While they offer unparalleled access to resources and can personalize the learning experience,it is crucial for educators to establish boundaries and guidelines to ensure that these devices contribute positively to the educational process. The key lies in striking a balance between embracing technology and maintaining focus on the core objectives of English language instruction.。
二年级满满的奖杯读后感作文
二年级满满的奖杯读后感作文As a second grader, the sight of a classroom filled with gleaming trophies and awards can be both inspiring and intimidating. The idea of achieving such recognition and success can be a powerful motivator for young students. In this essay, we will explore the significance of receiving numerous awards at a young age, considering both the positive and negative aspects of this experience. The concept of awarding students for their achievements dates back to ancient times when scholars and athletes were honored for their exceptional skills and knowledge. In modern education systems, the practice of awarding trophies and certificates has become a common way to recognize and encourage students to excelin academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. The abundance of trophies in a second-grade classroom symbolizes the hard work, dedication, and talent of the students who have earned them. From a young age, children are taught the value of setting goals, working hard, and persevering in the face of challenges. Winning awards can boost their self-esteem, instill a sense of accomplishment, and motivate them to continue striving for excellence. For some students, seeing their name engraved on a trophy can be a source of pride and validation of their efforts. It can also serve as a reminder that hard work pays off and that they are capable of achieving great things. However, the prevalence of awards in a classroom can also have drawbacks. Some critics argue that excessive focus on rewards and recognition can lead to a competitive and individualistic mindset, where students are more concerned about winning than learning. This can create a high-pressure environment that may not be conducive to holistic development and collaboration among peers. Additionally, constantly seeking external validation through awards may hinder intrinsic motivation and genuine love for learning. To illustrate this point, let us consider a case study of two students in a second-grade classroom: Emma and Liam. Emma is a high-achieving student whoconsistently receives top marks in her exams and participates in various extracurricular activities. She has a shelf full of trophies and certificates to her name, which she proudly displays in her room. On the other hand, Liam is a quiet and reserved student who struggles academically but excels in art and music. Despite his talents, Liam has never received an award in school. In this scenario, Emma may feel a sense of validation and success from her awards, boosting her confidence and drive to excel further. However, she may also feel pressured to maintain her status as a top performer and fear failure or disappointment. On the other hand, Liam may feel overlooked and undervalued due to the lack of recognition for his talents. This disparity in award distribution can create feelings of inequality and inadequacy among students, impacting their self-esteem and motivation. In conclusion, while receiving numerous awards at a young age can be a source of pride and motivation for students, it is essential to strike a balance between recognition and intrinsic motivation. Educators and parents should emphasize the importance of effort, growth, and collaboration over mere achievement and competition. By fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, students can develop a love for learning, resilience in the face of challenges, and a sense of community with their peers. Ultimately, the true measure of success lies not in the number of trophies on a shelf but in the growth, character, and values that students cultivate on their educational journey.。

一一一一一一一一学术思潮本栏目责任编辑:王力1IntroductionAlthough it is still controversial to regard English education as second language education in China, there is general agreement that the accomplishments and theories achieved in second language acquisition research in such foreign countries as the United States and Britain can do guide English teaching in China, and most Eng⁃lish teachers in China can do English teaching research under the framework of Second Language Acquisition(SLA)theories in con⁃nection with China ’s real facts.Ellis(1985)puts:Language teach⁃ing can not take place without a theory of language learning. To re-recognize the classroom environment of English learning is to make explicit the theories of classroom language learning under the ad⁃vanced SLA theories framework.2The framework of SLA theoriesThe present SLA theories have become more and more inte⁃grated after more than 30years ’development, and two tendencies have emerged:1)UG Model and Information Process Model which are explained from the internal mechanism are still the dominant theory model of present SLA;2)Social Interaction Model that stresses the interplay of the internal mechanism and the external en⁃vironment has become an important tendency.Theoretically speaking,it should be like this:1)classroom Eng⁃lish learning should follow the principles that apply to all natural languages while show the parameters that tell the differences be⁃tween the native language and the second language;2)classroom English learning should follow Information Process principles;3)classroom English learning should follow Social Interaction princi⁃ples.Based on this comprehension above, three aspects of English learning in classroom settings need to be considered:(1)the exter⁃nal environment,(2)the ‘black box ’(i.e.the learner ’s existing knowledge and the internal mechanisms that guide English learn⁃ing),and (3)individual learner factors, such as motivation and ef⁃fectiveness. Therefore, the concretion of the theoretical framework for English learning in classroom settings should be like this:3The cognition of classroom settingsIn terms of the effects that classroom settings make on the lan⁃guage learning, classroom settings of English learning can be divid⁃ed into the language environment and the cognitive one, which re⁃spectively respond to the linguistic mechanism and the cognitive mechanism in the learner ’s brain.3.1Classroom as language environmentTo regard classroom as language environment is to find out how classroom discourse influences on the student ’s English learn⁃ing.Discourse analysis serves as a device for systematically de⁃scribing all kinds of languages that occur in language classrooms.Classroom discourse is formed by teachers ’language, students ’language and the communicative language between them, which con⁃structs the linguistic environment where English learning relies on to occur. In detail, the types of these languages include four aspects:(1)the natural language,(2)the instructional language,(3)the text⁃book language, and (4)the interlocutors ’nguages of the four aspects jointly establish a comprehensive input of language for the students, and language input is the starting point of the stu⁃dents ’language learning.According to some main theories of the current SLA such as Krashen ’s Input Hypothesis,Selinker ’s Inter-language Theory and Long ’s Interaction Hypothesis, the general features of class⁃room discourses in favor of English learning can be generalized as follows:1)language input must be adequately supplied;2)language input must be comprehensible;3)language input should be real, natural, meaningful and diverse;4)language input should contain learnable features and be higher than the current level;5)class⁃收稿日期:2016-12-10修回日期:2017-01-10作者简介:罗小杰(1969—),男,湖南耒阳人,湖南外国语职业学院科研处长,硕士,研究方向英语学科教学。
The Recognition of Classroom English Learning under the Framework of SLA TheoriesLUO Xiao-jie(Hunan Vocational College of Foreign Studies,Changsha 410116,China )Abstract:It is a complex process from language input to language output and the interplay of outer environment and internal mechanism is the main cause resulted in English learning occurrence.Based on the framework of Second Language Acquisition theories, this paper explores classroom English learning from the two dimensions of classroom as language environment and classroom as cognitive environ⁃ment with an intent to provide the inspiration for teachers ’instruction.Key words:SLA theories;classroom environment ;English learning ;inspiration 中图分类号:G633文献标识码:A文章编号:1009-5039(2017)06-0216-02216Overseas English 海外英语一一一一一一一学术思潮本栏目责任编辑:王力2017年3月room discourse should be inter-actionable so that it will help learn⁃ers join the conversation and form output;6)interaction modifica⁃tion must be adaptable to the students ’level;7)the conversation must facilitate learners to form “pushed output ”so that they will notice the gap between their inter-language and the source lan⁃guage, and eventually construct comprehensible output.3.2Classroom as cognitive environmentTo regard classroom as cognitive environment is to find out how language process occurs in the black box and how the teaching activities interplay with the internal mechanisms.Because class⁃room discourse provides students with comprehensible input, and not all comprehensible input can be comprehended, students will start with understanding input in processing language, which re⁃sponds to the internal cognitive mechanism.Language process that occurs in the black box has its biologi⁃cal mechanism, which is referred to as LAD coined by prehensible input is the precondition for language learning and output is the final result of language learning in the cognitive pro⁃cess. Both language input and language output are visible activities in the cognitive process. But language process occurred in the black box is invisible. So it is a complex cognitive process from the input of language to the output of language. In order to make better cognitive accounts of classroom English learning,Ellis(1999)cites two terms —implicit knowledge and explicit knowledge ,and forms a framework for investigating L2acquisition,which can be bor⁃rowed as a guidance in the classroom English learning.A framework for investigating L2acquisition (citing from El⁃lis)As is shown diagrammatical here ,there is a black box be⁃tween L2input and L2output,where language process will occur.classroom discourse as input needs to be modified to suit the level that the learners can accept. This kind of modification of classroom discourse theoretically resembles motherese. Not all comprehensi⁃ble input can convert into intake. As Ellis (1999)puts it ,“It con⁃sists of ‘noticing ’features in the input as a result of the saliency of the features themselves and of the learner ’s existing L2knowl⁃edge.”It refers to the noticed input. Not all noticed input is compre⁃hended.Similarly, not all comprehended input becomes intake. As Gass (1988:205)puts it,“what is comprehended can either feed in⁃to the intake component or,alternatively,it may be not used by the learner for anything beyond communication ”.Intake is seen as “a process which mediates between target language input and the learner ’s internalized set of rules ”.It does not become part of the learner ’s implicit knowledge system until it has been “integrated ”.In fact, some input may be processed and put into storage if it is not yet possible to integrate it into the inter-language system. This ‘storage ’takes the form of some kind of explicit knowledge of L2items and rules.Explicit knowledge can contribute to output through monitoring (according to Krashen ’s Monitor Theory),and also may aid the processes that contribute to intake.Language processing from noticed input to comprehended in⁃put to intake, and to implicit /explicit knowledge resembles gener⁃al information processing. The features of language process can be summarized as follows:1)Language process should follow the gener⁃al laws of information process;2)For the learners, they will form their own inter-language system during language process, which dif⁃fers the L1knowledge and the L2knowledge;3)Language process will produce two types of knowledge:implicit knowledge and explic⁃it knowledge;4)Output is the last step in the framework and also the final aim for the learners which influences input through inter⁃action and helps to shape subsequent input when what learners say influences what is said to them.4The interplay of external environment and internal mechanismsAccording to the above cognitive analysis,it becomes clear that the occurrence of classroom English learning is the result of the interplay of classroom settings and the students ’internal mech⁃anisms,in which the students ’existing knowledge and individual factors will play a certain role.Classroom discourse provides com⁃prehensible input for the occurrence of English learning, which is the precondition. Then classroom activities interplay with the stu⁃dents ’linguistic mechanism and cognitive mechanism, which facili⁃tates the comprehension, the intake and the integration of language and language knowledge. And finally it makes the students produce language output.5InspirationTo recognize classroom English instruction from the cognitiveperspective, instruction produces three aspects of effect on lan⁃guage learning:1)different ways of input will improve the students ’awareness of linguistic features in different degrees ;2)only the stu⁃dents are provided some dense productive practices, can they im⁃prove the automation of explicit knowledge and implicit knowledge ;3)corrective feedback in a proper way can help the students notice the gap between the inter-language and the target language.;4)in⁃structional activities about form and meaning should be balanced in facilitating learning implicit knowledge and explicit one,and in⁃struction of form about linguistic knowledge (ie.Phrasal structure)should be given particular emphasis so as to help it convert into im⁃plicit knowledge.References:[1]Ellis,R.Understanding Second Language Acquisition[M].Ox⁃ford:Oxford University
