2. Stump and fall accidents occur when a worker’s foot
suddenly meets a sticky surface or a defect in the walking surface. Expecting to continue at the established pace, the worker falls when his/her foot in unable to respond properly.

Causes of Falls
1.A foreign object on the walking surface. 2.A desired flaw in the walking surface. 3.Slippery surfaces, 4.An individual’s impaired physical condition.

2. Step and fall accidents occur when the foot
encounters an unexpected step down ( a hole in the floor). This can also happen when an employee thinks he or she has reached the bottom of the stairs when, in reality, there is one more step.
“The most common is the slip and fall accident. Foot contact is Broken, and the individual attempts to right himself. A recovery of equilibrium is reflexive and not under conscious control in most cases. If the pedestrian strikes the walking surface with a fleshy part of the body, the injuries are likely to be minimal. If, on the other hand, the victim strikes a bony body part in the fall, the injuries are likely to be more severe.” Miller
