在新课标中,本课知识点——一般过去时属于语言知识分级二级目标。

在近三年的广州中考中,一般过去时虽然没有在单项选择和语法选择题型中直接考察,但作为英语语言学习中的重要基础性知识点,其在口头写作(近年多以看图说话为主)、记叙性文章阅读以及写作、首字母填空、完成句子等部分中均占有举足轻重的地位。

当然,此知识点在小学课本上已经出现,故本课可以留给学生一定的自主学习空间,并鼓励学生尝试作相应的语言输出。
