Step 1：Warming－up and lead－in
1．Ask students whose birthday is in this week/month.
2．Ask students to sing the song Happy Birthday together to celebrate it.
Step 2：Ask and answer
1．Ask s tudents what they can think of when talking about “birthday”．
2．Show some pictures about the new words and expressions and then teach them.
have a birthday party，eat noodles，eat birthday cake，make a birthday cake，give birthday cards，sing songs，get birthday presents
Step 3：Listening
1．Ask students to listen and number the words as they hear in Activity 2，then check the answers together.
2．Check the answers.

Step 4：Listening and reading
1．Ask the students to listen and read the conversation in Activity 3 silently.
2．Read it and underline all the points which are important with your partner.

5．Work in pairs.Act out the conversation.
