摘要：PURPOSE:To acknowledge an installing position of a main body of an air conditioner and eliminate an exclusive mechanism or a sensor or the like by a method wherein an infra-red ray sensor for controlling as air direction and means for sensing a characteristic of state are utilized. CONSTITUTION:A controlling for changing a blowing direction of blown air from a main body 1 of an air conditioner is carried out in response to an output from an infra-red ray sensor 15, and for example, temperature distribution or a result of sensing at each of state characteristic sensing means 22 and 23 for sensing a state characteristic such as a temperature distribution or a position of a human or the like. An installing position of a main body 1 of the air conditioner within a room is acknowledged by an installing position acknowledging means 26 in response to a result of sensing of each of the sensing means 22 and 23. In this way, the acknowledgement of the installing position of the main body 1 of the air conditioner is carried out by utilizing the infra-red ray sensor 15 arranged to perform a control of air direction and the state characteristic sensing means 22 and 23. An exclusive mechanism or a sensor can be eliminated and when an air direction control means 25 is made by a micro-computer, only a program having a function of as installing position acknowledging means 26 to the micro-computer is added to enable an acknowledgement of the installing position to be
carried out.
