A Super Fun May Holiday Trip
Yay, the May holiday was finally here! I was so excited because my family was going on a really fun trip. We were going to go visit my aunt and uncle in Beijing and then spend a few days seeing all the cool sights there. I had never been to Beijing before so I could hardly wait.
First thing in the morning on May 1st, my mom, dad, little brother Didi and I piled into the car with our suitcases. Dad drove us to the train station to catch the high-speed rail to Beijing. The train was awesome - it went sooo fast! We got drinks and snacks from the food cart and I played games on my tablet to help pass the time. After a few hours we finally arrived in the huge, bustling city of Beijing.
My aunt and uncle were waiting for us at the station. I was really happy to see them since I hadn't seen them in over a year. We all hugged and then they took us back to their apartment. After dropping our stuff off, we headed out to explore Beijing.
The first stop was Tiananmen Square. It's one of the biggest public squares in the world! There were tons of people there, it was crazy. We took a bunch of pictures in front of the giant portrait of Mao Zedong hanging on the gate. My aunt told us all about the historical events that happened there.
Next, we went to see the Forbidden City. Everywhere you looked there were these amazing old buildings with beautiful carved beams and pretty roofs. Our tour guide told us it used to be the home of emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties. We spent hours walking around and seeing things like throne rooms, living quarters, kitchens, and gardens. By the time we left in the afternoon, my feet were so tired from all the walking!
The next day we went to see the Great Wall of China - I was reallyreally excited for this! The Great Wall is sooo long, it's one of the man-made things on Earth you can even see from space. I couldn't believe people actually built this huge stone wall so many centuries ago. We climbed up and walked along a section and the views were spectacular. You could see the wall snaking over the mountains and valleys for miles and miles. Climbing up and down all those steep steps was quite a workout too!
On May 3rd, we visited the Summer Palace, which was the summer retreat for emperors back in the day. There was a huge
beautiful lake there surrounded by hills, gardens, temples and pavilions. We rented a boat and rowed out on the lake for a little while. The bright colors, carved designs and classical architecture everywhere was gorgeous. I also really liked the Long Corridor, which is this covered walkway that goes for almost a kilometer!
Our last day in Beijing, we went to see a couple more iconic sites - the Temple of Heaven and the Beijing Zoo. The Temple of Heaven was built for emperors to come and pray for good harvests. All the buildings had this special blue color on the roofs. My favorite was probably the Echo Wall though. If you stood in one corner and spoke towards the wall, someone standing in the opposite corner could hear you perfectly because of the curved shape. We spent a long time goofing around and playing with the echo!
At the zoo, the number one thing I wanted to see were the giant pandas. They were sooo cute and fluffy! We also saw tons of other awesome animals like red pandas, golden monkeys, Asian elephants, and Chinese tigers. The aquarium area with seals, dolphins, walruses and beluga whales was really cool too. I didn't want to leave the zoo but eventually we had to.
That evening we said our goodbyes to my aunt and uncle and thanked them for hosting us. Then it was back on the
high-speed train headed home. I had such an incredible time in Beijing seeing all the historical sights and experiencing the big city. Even though my feet were sore from all the walking, it was totally worth it! I'll never forget my amazing May holiday trip to Beijing.

A Super Fun May Day Trip!
Hooray, it was finally May Day holiday! My family and I were so excited to go on our big trip. We had been planning it for months.
Early on May 1st, my dad woke me and my little brother up really early. "Rise and shine kids, our adventure awaits!" he said in an animated voice. I was tired but couldn't wait to get going. We piled into the car with our suitcases and snacks and hit the road.
After driving for a few hours, we arrived at the train station. "We're taking a train?" I asked in amazement. I loved riding on trains and watching the scenery go by out the window. This was going to be so fun! The train was huge with lots of cool features like a dining car. My brother and I raced up and down the aisles, burning off our energy.
Finally, we made it to our destination – a gorgeous seaside city! The air smelled like salt water and there were sailboats bobbing in the harbor. Our hotel room had an amazing view of the ocean. I could have spent all day just staring out the window.
But there was so much to do and see! We spent the first day at the beach, building sandcastles, splashing in the waves, and having a picnic lunch. I had never seen the ocean before and was in complete awe of how vast and powerful it was.
The next day, we explored the old town area with its winding cobblestone streets and colorful buildings. We visited quirky shops selling things like handmade soaps and kites. I got a kaleidoscope that made the most beautiful patterns when I looked through it. We also stopped for ice cream at this ancient little parlor – the frozen treats were absolutely delicious!
On the third day, we went on a boat tour around the harbor. The salty sea air whipped through my hair as we zoomed across the water's surface. We even got to see some friendly sea lions lounging on the rocks! Our guide told us all about the harbor's history and pointed out points of interest. It was so cool being out on the open water.
Our last day was spent at a marine science museum, which was filled with enormous aquariums, interactive exhibits, and all
kinds of information about ocean life. We watched in awe as scuba divers fed the sharks, marveling at their massive jaws. I loved petting the velvety rays and learning about life under the sea.
All too soon, it was time to head back home. I was exhausted from all the adventures but also sad for the trip to be over. We had created so many wonderful memories as a family that I'll never forget. Sitting on the train, I gazed out the window at the rolling hills and countryside, already dreaming up ideas for our next big vacation. Maybe next time we could go camping in the mountains? Or visit a big city like Beijing? No matter where we go, I know we'll have an amazing time because travelling and exploring with my family is the best!

Here's a short essay about a May 1st trip, around 100 words, written in English from the perspective of an elementary school student:
My Wonderful May 1st Trip
During the May 1st holiday, my family went on a fantastic trip! We visited my grandparents in the countryside. It was so much fun! I got to play in the fields, chase butterflies, and even
help feed the chickens. Grandma made delicious homemade dumplings for us. At night, we sat around the campfire, roasting marshmallows and telling stories. I loved spending time with my cousins too. We ran around and played tag until we were exhausted. I wish the holiday never ended! It was the best May 1st trip ever. I can't wait for next year!

My Exciting May 1st Holiday Trip
Yay, the May 1st holiday was finally here! I was so excited because my parents promised to take me on a fun trip. We didn't go anywhere for the Spring Festival this year, so I had been looking forward to this vacation for months.
On the morning of April 30th, I woke up bright and early and hurriedly ate my breakfast. I could hardly sit still because I was so eager to get going. My dad had to keep telling me to calm down and be patient. Finally, after what felt like forever, my mom said it was time to go. I grabbed my backpack and rushed out to the car.
We drove for a few hours until we arrived at a beautiful forest park. The park was huge, with endless trails winding through the lush green trees. There were little creeks and ponds
everywhere too. As soon as we got there, I begged my parents if we could go hiking. They agreed, so we laced up our shoes and hit the trails.
The fresh outdoor air smelled so refreshing and clean. Birds were chirping all around us as we walked along the dirt paths. Occasionally a squirrel or chipmunk would scurry across the trail in front of us. I loved spotting all the different plants, flowers, and critters. We spent a couple hours just wandering around, taking it all in.
After our hike, we had a picnic lunch at one of the scenic lookout points. My parents had packed a basket full of my favorite foods - sandwiches, chips, fruit, cookies, and lemonade. As I ate my delicious lunch, I gazed out over the incredible view of the forests and hills stretching out below us. What an amazing place!
In the afternoon, we drove over to a nearby lake that allowed swimming, kayaking, and other water activities. I was so excited to get in the water! My dad rented a little paddleboat for us, and we spent a couple hours cruising around the lake, soaking up the warm sunshine.
When we got hot, we jumped into the refreshing clear lake water. I had a blast swimming, floating on my back, and playing
around. I even spotted a few little fish darting around underneath me. After we dried off, my parents let me get an ice cream cone from the snack stand. Nothing beats licking a cold ice cream on a sunny day!
As the evening drew near, we headed back into town to check into our hotel. We stayed at a big resort hotel that had all kinds of awesome amenities and activities. My favorite was definitely the huge pool area that had waterslides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. I could have spent all day riding the waterslides over and over!
The hotel also had a game room, playground, tennis courts, and more. I wished I could have a sleepover there every night and never leave! Although I did have a little bit of a hard time falling asleep that night because I was so excited and wound up from the fun-filled day.
The next morning, we had a big breakfast at the hotel's buffet before checking out. On our way home, we stopped at a famous snack street and bought lots of delicious local treats and specialties. I got candies, chocolates, dried fruit, baked goods, and more. My zippered backpack was stuffed full by the time we left!
Even though we were only gone for a couple days, it felt like we packed in a ton of amazing activities and experiences. I had so much fun spending quality time with my parents, getting exercise in nature, trying new things, and making wonderful memories. This May 1st holiday was the best one yet! I'm already counting down the days until our next big trip.

May Day Holiday Adventure
Yay, it was finally the May Day holiday! I was so excited because my parents promised to take me on a special trip. We decided to go to a beautiful place called Zhangjiajie in Hunan Province. It's famous for its towering quartzite sandstone pillars and rich biodiversity. I couldn't wait to see it with my own eyes!
The day before we left, I helped my mom pack our bags. I made sure to bring my favorite plush tiger, some comic books to read, and a sketchpad with colored pencils. I also packed some snacks like dried fruit and granola bars in case I got hungry on the trip. Once everything was ready, I could barely sleep that night because I was so eager to start our adventure!
The next morning, we woke up really early to catch our train.
I was a little sleepy, but the thrill of going on vacation kept me
energized. The train ride took several hours, but it didn't feel that long. I spent most of the time looking out the window at the beautiful countryside scenery whizzing by. The lush green fields, little villages, and rolling hills were so peaceful and calming.
When we finally arrived in Zhangjiajie, the first thing I noticed were the giant pillars of rock jutting up into the sky. They looked like skyscrapers made of stone! Our hotel was right in the heart of the national forest park, surrounded by these incredible natural formations. After dropping our bags off, we decided to go explore right away.
We took a shuttle bus deeper into the park and got off at the trail head. Immediately, we were surrounded by thick forests blanketing the lower elevations of the pillars. I heard birds chirping and could smell the fresh pine in the air. The trail was well-maintained, but it definitely got my heart pumping as we climbed up along the winding path.
Every time we turned a corner, I gasped at the stunning views. The pillars seemed to stretch higher and higher into the puffy white clouds above. Some of them had trees and bushes growing right on the tippy tops! Others had waterfalls cascading down the sides. It was like a scene straight out of an ancient Chinese painting.
About halfway up, we stopped at a scenic overlook for a snack break. I happily munched on a granola bar while taking in the jaw-dropping panorama all around us. My dad pointed out some endangered monkeys and rare birds we could spot scampering among the pillars. A family of monkeys swung from pillar to pillar right in front of us! I waved at them and they seemed to wave back with their little hands. It was the cutest thing ever.
After resting, we kept hiking further up along the misty mountain trails. The higher we got, the more the scenery changed from forests to bare rocky cliffs. I felt so tiny compared to the towering pillars surrounding us. It was like we shrank down and entered a world for giants!
We made it all the way up to the highest point on one of the pillars. The view from the top was indescribable - like something out of a dream. We could see the whole national park laid out before us, with pillar after pillar disappearing into the hazy distance. Fluffy clouds drifted through the valleys between the stone giants. I took a deep breath of the crisp mountain air and felt so free and alive. This was definitely the highlight of our trip.
After spending a couple days exploring more of the park's highlights like caves, waterfalls, and scenic lookouts, it was sadly
time to head home. I was exhausted from all the hiking, but my heart was full of incredible memories. Zhangjiajie was one of the most magical, jaw-droppingly beautiful places I had ever been. The photos could never fully capture just how stunning it was in person.
On the train ride back, I flipped through the pictures I had taken, memories flooding back with each one. I couldn't wait to share my adventure with my classmates and teachers when I returned to school. Maybe I could even write an essay about it! This May Day trip was easily one of the best vacations
my family had ever taken. I feel so lucky to have experienced such an amazing natural wonder. I know the enchanting pillars of Zhangjiajie will forever have a special place in my heart.

My May Day Holiday Trip
Last week was the May Day holiday! My family and I went on a fun trip to the countryside. We stayed at my grandparents' house for a few days. I really enjoyed playing outside in their big yard and exploring the small creek nearby. We caught tiny fish and looked for interesting rocks. My grandma taught me how to make zongzi, which are delicious sticky rice dumplings wrapped
in bamboo leaves. In the evenings, we watched old movies together and ate snacks like sunflower seeds and dried fruit. I had the best time on our little trip. I can't wait for the next holiday!。
