13、In the middle of a really embarrassing moment, you might feel like you just want to disappear. Maybe you wish for a time machine that could send you back five minutes. Well, time machines are hard to come by in the real world, so finding a better way of getting through the humiliation(蒙羞的场面) is needed.
Sometimes, embarrassment is caused by how we act after we make an unwanted thing. If the thing is a small one, you can just pretend it didn't happen, and many people won’t notice. On the other hand, if you stop, or get red in the face after you've messed up, people will really notice, and it will be hard to let the moment pass by. Of course, some embarrassing moments are too big or obvious for this plan to work.
Sometimes when you meet or get caught in a really cringe-worthy(尴尬的) moment, it doesn't seem funny. Other people may laugh, but you just get red in the face and feel like curling up in a ball of shame. But there are some people who can laugh at their own mistakes. When they mess up, they laugh harder than their friends do! People likethisdon't stay embarrassed for long, because this can turn into another funny story. They might even make a joke about their mistake before anyone else gets the chance to.
You shouldn't pretend a laugh if you really feel angry or embarrassed, but changing your attitude or outlook might be worth trying. Remember that a thing that makes you embarrassed today will probably make you laugh tomorrow. So why not try to laugh today?

16、Even if you shop with plastic bags, always remember to recycle them. Most families don’t realize the importance of eco-friendly living, especially children.
So how can you help children start seeing green? Well, here are a few suggestions.
Don’t buy toys-borrow instead. If kids are concerned, most toys start to lose their shine. Don’t let the unloved toys gather dust around the house-instead, join a local toy library, give them to the library. And if you do buy new toys, try to buy toys made from wood and other eco-friendly materials.
Spend time outside. Make sure your child spends time learning to be outside. Let him/her get involved in nature by planting a tree, building a birdhouse, or taking a bike ride in a nearby park.
Teach green. Even if your child doesn’t receive an environmental education in the classroom, there’s no reason that you can’t spread the word at home. Let your kid h elp out with separating your recyclables.
Stick with eco-friendly entertainment. Most kids may not seem like interested in the subject on the environment, but put it in a TV show and they’ll change their minds. Give them a taste of the online cartoon show, and you’ll finally find the children learn it happily.

18、Now scientists have discovered that the dogs behave like their masters, too. Just like chil dren, they use a “ look and learn” ways when they go about their tasks.
Scientists at Oxford universities designed an experiment to test if the dogs have the ability to copy humans’ actions by using a simple wooden box. 10 owners showed their dogs how to open the wooden box .Sometimes they use their heads to push it and sometimes they use their hands.
10 dogs were divided into two groups---Group1 and Group2. In the first part of the test, Group1 were rewarded with a piece of meat for copying their owner’s a ctions. Group2 were rewarded with food for not copying and using other ways. With each dog the experiment was repeated hundreds of times. Scientists recorded the time to see which group was first to get 85% right. They found that Group1finished the task much sooner than Group2.
In the second part of the test, all the dogs were only rewarded for copying the way that their owners used. Group1 reached the 85% mark more quickly than Group2.
So the scientists draw a conclusion: “Like humans, dogs can copy actions that they see. Dogs’ imitative(仿效的)behavior is shaped more by their interactions(互动)with humans than by evolution(进化).”
Scientists said,“A dog’s behavior is influenced much like that of a child; they look and learn similar behavior. We hope that owners understand the importance of their actions and use this knowledge to set good examples and therefore have a good effect on the behavior of their pets.”

A.Dogs can finish their tasks quickly. B.Dogs are interesting animals.

behavior can be seen everywhere.
As junior students, we have also made some contributions to the civilized Suqian. For example, to protect our environment, we plant flowers and trees. Also, for our own and others’ safety, we obey the traffic rules and never run red lights. In addition, we no longer talk or laugh loudly in public. What’s m ore, when on a bus, we actively give our seats to the people in need.
Besides, we have formed a good habit or throwing rubbish into a dustbin, never littering anywhere. Furthermore, we are accustomed to queuing up for tickets or something else.
All in all, we will try our best to do what we can to make ourselves and Suqian city more civilized.。
