表达数字时，中文常用的结构为
(1)“…达到了…, 比去年增长了百分之… /比去年下跌了百分之… / 占总量的百分之…”。

这样的句型一般译为:
…reached / totaled / … in 2009, representing an increase of 52% over the previous year.
An 52% increase on last year
52% more than the previous year.
a fall/ drop/ decline /decrease of 23% on the previous year.
accounting for 13% of the total GDP，
hitting a record high over the past 5 years.
(2) 2007年，国内生产总值达到24.66万亿元，比2002年增长65.5%，年均增长10.6%，从世界第六位上升到第四位。

China’s GDP in 2007 reached 24.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 65.5% over 2002 and an average annual increase of 10.6%, rising from the sixth highest one in the world to the fourth.
（3）表示数字趋势变化时，要注意“of”, “by”, “to”, “at”等介词的使用。

例如
There was a rise of 6%.
The figure rose by 3 %.
The figure rose to 3 %.
The figure remained at 3 %.
比较和倍数的表达方法：
在表达“A的大小（重量、长度、数量…）是B的N倍”的意思时，可以有以下表达方式：
A is N times as large (heavy, long, many…) as B.
A is N times the size (weight, length, amount) of B.
e.g. （1）Y our classroom is five times as large as ours．
（2）Y our classroom is five times the size of ours．
在表示“增加到N倍或增加了N-1倍”的概念时，我们可以用以下表达方式：
A increases to N times / fold.
A increases by a factor of N.
e.g. (1) The grain output this year increased (to) 5 times /fold.
(2)The grain output this year increased by a factor of 5.
eg. The production of integrated circuits has been increased to three times compared with last year. 集成电路的产量比去年增加了两倍/ 增加到去年的三倍/ 是去年的三倍
The output of chemical fertilizer has been raised five times as against 1986.
化肥产量比1986年增加了五倍
The drain voltage（电压）has been increased by four times.
漏电压增加了四倍
