摘要：PURPOSE:To allow various kinds of useful analyses from the decomposed functional group in a sample by placing a sample on a sample receiving tray in a hermetic vessel, introducing an inert gas into the vessel heating the sample by a heater for heating, and thereby thermally decomposing the sample. CONSTITUTION:The sample, for example, an ethylene vinyl acetate resin, is put into the sample receiving tray 8 consisting of platinum, etc., and after a plug body 2 is put on a flask 1, the inert gas (gaseous Ar, etc.) is introduced from a gas introducing port 10. The air in the vessel 1 is previously withdrawn by a vacuum pump from the introducing port 10 before the introduction of the gas. an electrode wire 5 is then energized to heat the heater 7 for heating. The sample in the receiving tray 8 is heated in this way to several hundreds deg.C and is thereby thermally decomposed. The thermal decomposition is stopped in the stage where the desired functional group exists by adjusting the energization time or the capacity of the heater 7. Washing water is ejected from a measuring cylinder 3 to the cracking gas to obtain an acetic acid. This acetic acid is recovered and is determined by an ion chromatographic analysis. The quantity of the vinyl acetate is converted and determined from this quantity, by which the vinyl acetate content in the ethylene vinyl acetate resin is determined.
