除夕上班作文英语
Working on New Year's Eve。

As the clock ticks down to midnight, most people are getting ready to celebrate the arrival of the New Year. But for some, like me, the night of December 31st is just another workday. Yes, I have to work on New Year's Eve.
It's not that I don't want to celebrate. Like everyone else, I enjoy the festive atmosphere and the feeling of starting fresh in the New Year. But as a nurse, I have a duty to take care of my patients, even on holidays.
My shift starts at 8 pm. The hospital is surprisingly quiet, with most patients having been discharged earlier in the day. But there are still a few who need my attention. I check on them, administer medication, and make sure they are comfortable. Some of them are sleeping, while others are watching TV or chatting with their families.
As the night wears on, the hospital becomes busier. People start coming in with injuries from fireworks, car accidents, and alcohol-related incidents. It's not the most pleasant sight, but it's all part of the job. I do my best to provide care and comfort to those who need it.
At midnight, the hospital staff gathers in the break room to watch the countdown on TV. There's a sense of camaraderie as we all cheer and toast to the New Year. But the celebration is short-lived, as we have to go back to work.
The rest of the night is a blur of activity. There are more patients coming in, more medications to administer, and more paperwork to fill out. But despite the long hours and the exhaustion, I feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that I'm doing something meaningful.
When my shift finally ends at 8 am, I'm ready to go home and sleep. But as I step outside, I'm greeted by the sight of the sun rising over the city. It's a beautiful sight, and it reminds me that even though I had to work on
New Year's Eve, I'm still lucky to be alive and healthy.
In conclusion, working on New Year's Eve may not be the most glamorous way to spend the holiday, but it's a necessary part of being a healthcare worker. As we enter the New Year, let's not forget to appreciate those who work hard to keep us healthy and safe, even on holidays.。
