Introduction
This document provides a high-level summary of this release. It includes a summary of the new features in this release, any authorization code changes required, any major installation changes, and any transitioning issues you should be aware of before installing. Additionally, any last minute issues found in the final stages of testing are included.
This document is located on the top level of the CD and on SupportNet. Changes may be added to this document after the release. Refer to the Release Highlights documents on SupportNet for the most up-to-date release information
New Features
The following new features are available in this release.
•Direct interface to Expedition PCB
•Support of the Windows 7 operating system
•‘Bottleneck’ and ‘Shortcut’ novel post processing parameters
•Power dissipation as a non-linear function of temperature
•Reworking of transient model definition

FloTHERM: If you are updating your software from 8.2 to 9.1, no changes to authorization codes are required for this release. You may request your existing authorization codes by opening a non-technical Service Request on SupportNet.
Note: The import of Catia V4 native data into the FloMCAD Bridge application window now requires a license to operate. Please contact your local sales or support representative for more information.
However if you are updating from any prior versions, new authorization codes are required. The older authorization codes were generated with the Flomerics license daemon (flomerics). This has changed to the Mentor Graphics license daemon (mgcld). We have integrated licensing for Mechanical Analysis FloTHERM product into the standard Mentor FloTHERM Release Highlights, fth9.1 1 May 2010
Graphics license generator which continues to use Accresso's FLEXlm, but also uses functionality provided by MGLS/PCLS software. For further details about new authorization codes, login to SupportNet and visit /news/Mechanical-Authcodes.cfm.
You may request new authorization codes for FloTHERM by logging in to SupportNet at and opening a Service Request(remember to choose the "Other Request Type" radio button, then select "New License Request"), or by contacting your local Mentor Graphics office.
If you wish to continue to use prior releases of FloTHERM, you may continue to use your current flomerics authorization codes, but please be aware that flomerics authorization codes will not work with the latest releases.
Installation Information
This release uses the new Mentor Graphics Standard Installation program. For additional information on installation, refer to the FloTHERM_9_1_detailed_install.pdf and the help system within the installation software. You can view this manual in the release_documents directory at the top level of the CD.
Note: Please note that a new version of FLEXnet, 11.6.1, has to be used to license this version of the software. Please install the new version of FLEXnet by performing either a ‘Flex only’ or ‘Typical’ installation. No new authorization codes are required.

This section contains additional release notes and workarounds for issues found late in the release process for this software release. For a detailed list of all other release notes and any workarounds for this release, refer to your product specific release notes manual or README file, available in the installed software tree or on SupportNet.
The GUI version of FloTHERM will not be supported on the Solaris O/S from the next release (V9.1) onwards. We will support command line (batch) solving, FloVolunteer technology, and the Flexlm license server only.
