My Hometown Ju County
My name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I live in a place called Ju County in Shandong Province, China. I love my hometown very much and want to tell you all about it!
Ju County is a pretty rural area with lots of farms and villages. The scenery is so beautiful, with rolling green hills, winding rivers, and fields of crops like wheat and corn. There are also many peach and apple orchards which are wonderful in springtime when the trees are covered in pink and white blossoms.
One of my favorite places in Ju County is Wuzhou Mountain. It has lush forests, rocky peaks, and even some ancient temples nestled high up. My dad has taken me hiking there a few times and the views from the summit are breathtaking. You can see the entire county laid out below, with its patchwork of farms and little villages. I also really enjoy the fresh mountain air and trying to spot birds and other wildlife.
In the county town itself, there is a lively open-air market that happens every few days. Vendors come from near and far to sell all kinds of fresh produce, meats, handmade crafts, and other goods. The aroma of sizzling street foods like jian bing and tanghulu fills the air. I love going there with my mom and trying different snacks. We always have to stop and buy some walnuts, as Ju County is famous for growing the best walnuts in the whole province!
Another interesting place is Ju County Museum, where you can see ancient pottery, coins, and other artifacts discovered in local archaeological digs. My class went on a field trip there and I found the old tools and household items really fascinating to see. It made me imagine what life was like for people here hundreds of years ago.
Besides the beautiful scenery and food, what I love most about Ju County is the sense of community and tradition. Every year, we celebrate holidays like the Spring Festival and
Mid-Autumn Festival with dragon dances, lantern shows, and other fun activities that bring everyone together. The older generation also keeps alive folk arts and customs like paper cutting, sugar sculpture, and cross-stitch embroidery.
My grandparents live in a little village just outside of town and their way of life is very simple but fulfilling. They grow most of their own fruits and vegetables, raise chickens and ducks, and cook everything from scratch using recipes passed down for generations. I always look forward to summer vacation when I can go stay with them for a few weeks and experience that peaceful rural lifestyle. Helping my grandma tend to her vegetable garden and learning how to make dumplings from scratch are some of my happiest childhood memories.
Even though Ju County may seem like a small and ordinary place to some, to me it is vibrant, rich in culture, and most importantly, my cherished home. The hustle and bustle of the markets, the serenity of the mountains, the delectable foods, and most of all the warm, friendly people make this place extraordinary in my eyes. Ju County has made me who I am today and I hope it will always retain its unique character and traditions as it moves into the future. I feel so fortunate to have grown up in such a special place surrounded by incredible natural beauty.

My Hometown: Ju County
Hi everyone! My name is Lily and I'm 10 years old. I was born and raised in a wonderful place called Ju County in Shandong Province, China. I love my hometown so much and I want to tell you all about it!
Ju County has a really long history going back over 2,500 years. It used to be the capital of a powerful ancient state. There are still many old buildings, temples, and relics from those ancient times that we can see today. My favorite is the Triple Gate Tower which is this huge stone gate that was built way back in the Ming Dynasty over 500 years ago! It's so tall and has these intricate carvings of dragons and phoenixes all over it. Whenever I see it, it reminds me of just how old and historic my hometown is.
But Ju County isn't just about old buildings and history. We also have some amazing natural scenery too! The Luzi Mountain is right in the center of the county. It's a really big mountain with rocky peaks and lush forests. My dad has taken me hiking there a few times and the views from the top are breathtaking. You can see for miles and miles in every direction. There are also some ancient Buddhist temples built along the mountain slopes that are over 1,000 years old. It's incredible to think that monks have been living and worshipping there for so many centuries.
At the base of Luzi Mountain, there is a beautiful lake called Guyu Lake. The water is the most brilliant shade of emerald green that you've ever seen! In the summer, my family likes to go swimming and boating on the lake. And in the springtime, the area around the lake is filled with fields of bright yellow rapeseed flowers. It looks like the entire countryside is glowing golden! My friends and I love going to run and play in the flower fields during this time of year.
Apart from the mountain and lake, probably the most famous natural attraction in Ju County are the incredible waterfalls. We have this whole scenic area in the northwestern part of the county called the Juwang Valley, and it's filled with gorges, caves, and powerful waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. The two biggest waterfalls are called the Long Wind Waterfall and the Flying Waterfall because the water seems to hang suspended in mid-air as it's falling. My class went on a field trip there last year and it was simply breathtaking!
When you visit Ju County, you really feel surrounded by natural beauty everywhere you go. But at the same time, we also have a very modern and thriving city at the heart of the county. Ju County City is where I live with my parents and little brother. It has a population of almost a million people! There are tall
skyscrapers downtown, tons of shops and restaurants, public parks, theaters, sports arenas, and all the other things you'd find in a big city.
Yet the city still maintains a lot of traditional Chinese culture and architecture mixed in with the modern buildings. For example, walking down the city streets you'll see lots of old decorated archways, little temples tucked away on side alleys, and even some courtyard homes that have been preserved from centuries ago. Whenever holidays or festivals come around, the whole city gets decorated with bright lanterns, performances are held in the plazas, and there are big parades with colorful dragon dances.
I really love experiencing both the rural natural beauty and the urban energy of my hometown. There's always something new to explore no matter where you go!
The people of Ju County are exceptionally warm, hardworking, and hospitable as well. We are very proud of our heritage and traditions that have been passed down through the generations. Things like our unique style of cuisine, our local operas and arts, our folk handicrafts, and much more. At the same time, we also embrace innovation and progress, which you
can see in our booming industries and entrepreneurship. We really are a wonderful mix of ancient and modern.
I'm so lucky to have grown up experiencing the best of both worlds here. Whether I'm hiking in the mountains, attending the local temple fairs, or watching the latest movies in the city mall, I'm constantly surrounded by the rich culture and natural splendor of Ju County. I cherish every memory I've made exploring its scenery, learning about its history, and celebrating its customs with my family and friends.
From the very bottom of my heart, I love my hometown so much. The sights, the sounds, the flavors, the people - it has shaped me into who I am as a person. And I know that no matter where life takes me in the future, a piece of my heart will forever remain here in the rolling hills, shaded forests, and winding streets of beautiful Ju County. I hope you'll get a chance to visit someday and experience the magic for yourself!

My Hometown, Ju County
Hi there! My name is Xiao Ming, and I'm a fourth-grader at Ju County Elementary School. Today, I want to tell you all about
my amazing hometown, Ju County. It's a place that's full of history, natural beauty, and lots of fun things to do!
Ju County is located in Shandong Province, in the eastern part of China. It's not too far from the big city of Qingdao, but it's a lot quieter and more peaceful than the city. When you visit Ju County, you'll see fields of crops, like wheat and corn, stretching out as far as the eye can see. There are also lots of trees and hills, which make it a really pretty place to be.
One of the coolest things about Ju County is its long history. Our town has been around for over 2,500 years! Back in ancient times, it was an important place for trading and culture. There are still lots of old buildings and historical sites that you can visit to learn about what life was like back then.
One of my favorite historical places is the Ju County Museum. It has all sorts of cool artifacts from different dynasties, like pottery, coins, and even some old weapons! My class went on a field trip there last year, and I learned so much. The museum also has exhibits about the local culture and traditions of Ju County, which is really interesting.
Another awesome historical site is the Ju County Ancient City Wall. It's a huge wall that was built around the city a long, long time ago to protect it from invaders. Parts of the wall are
still standing today, and you can actually walk along the top of it! It's a bit of a climb to get up there, but the view from the top is amazing. You can see the whole city and the surrounding countryside.
The Eco-Park is also a great place to see some of the local wildlife. There are lots of birds, like cranes and herons, that live in the park. Sometimes, you can even spot a deer or two if you're really lucky!
Another fun thing to do in Ju County is to go to one of the many local festivals. There's the Ju County Peach Blossom Festival in the spring, where everyone celebrates the blooming of the peach trees. There are parades, performances, and lots of tasty peach-themed snacks to try!
In the fall, we have the Ju County Harvest Festival, where people celebrate the year's crops. There are all sorts of games and competitions, like corn-husking contests and pumpkin carving. My favorite part is the food – there are so many delicious dishes made with local fruits and vegetables!
In addition to noodles, we also have lots of other tasty dishes in Ju County. There are
all sorts of dumplings, steamed buns, and stir-fries made with fresh local ingredients. My mom makes the best braised eggplant and garlic shoots – yum!
As you can probably tell, I really love my hometown of Ju County. It's a place with so much history and culture, but also lots of fun things for kids like me to do. Whether you're exploring ancient ruins, hiking in the Eco-Park, or just chowing down on some delicious noodles, there's always something exciting happening in Ju County.
If you ever get a chance to visit, be sure to stop by and say hi! I'd be happy to show you around and introduce you to all the best spots in town. Ju County might be a small place, but it's got a big heart – and I'm really proud to call it my home.

My Hometown of Ju County
Hello, my name is Xiao Ming and I am a 5th grade student. Today, I want to tell you all about my amazing hometown of Ju County. It's a very special place with a long history and many wonderful things to see and do. I feel so lucky to have grown up here!
Ju County is located in Shandong Province in eastern China. It sits along the beautiful Yellow River and has a humid subtropical climate. This means we have four distinct seasons - warm springs, hot and rainy summers, cool autumns, and chilly but dry winters. I love watching the seasons change throughout the year.
One of my favorite things about Ju County is how old it is. Our home has such an incredible history going back thousands of years! Ju culture can be traced all the way back to the Shang Dynasty in the 2nd millennium BC. There are so many fascinating historical sites to visit and learn about our ancestors.
One of the oldest and most famous is Juxian Village. It's an ancient walled village that dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period from 770-476 BC! Walking through the winding alleys and seeing the old homes and buildings makes me feel like I've traveled back in time. The South Gate is especially impressive with its tall watchtowers.
Another must-see historical place is Qi Mountain and the Qi Culture Ecological Museum. Qi Mountain is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization and has beautiful scenery with peaks, valleys, caves, and waterfalls. At the museum, you can see
exhibits on the Dawenkou cultural relics and learn about the ancient Qi state that ruled here long ago.
My town is also well-known for its rich culture and traditions that have been passed down for centuries. One of the most unique is our locally produced Ju-style embroidery. The embroidered designs are so vibrant and detailed with images of flowers, birds, fish and dragons. It's considered a national intangible cultural heritage of China. I love visiting the Ju Embroidery Museum and watching the skilled embroiderers at work.
The Ju Opera is another beloved cultural tradition here. It combines singing, dancing, martial arts, and storytelling for amazing performances. Watching the actors with their colorful costumes and face paint is so much fun. During festivals, you can see Ju Opera troupes perform right out in the streets!
We have some delicious local foods in Ju County too. My favorite is Ju braised chicken. It's made by simmering chicken in a special brown sauce with soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and many fragrant spices. Just writing about it makes my mouth water! Steamed buns stuffed with juicy pork and vegetables are another tasty treat. For snacks, I love eating sugary deep-fried dough twists.
As you can probably tell, I really love all the history and culture we have in Ju County. But I also love spending time outdoors in our area's gorgeous natural scenery. The Yellow River is the life and soul of our home, stretching over 230 miles through Ju. I'll never forget swimming and splashing around in the river's clean water on hot summer days. We have lots of fun riverside parks where families can stroll along the banks and have picnics.
One of my favorite parks is Jiuzhen Wetland Park, which has winding streams and lush green forests. It's an awesome place for hiking, biking, fishing, or just relaxing amid nature. Watching the sunset reflecting on the water is magical. The park is also home to many species of birds and other wildlife like minks and rabbits.
In the winters, the highlight is visiting the Yellow River ice skating trail. It's the longest natural ice skating rink in China at over 6 miles long! Bundling up and gliding along the frozen river surrounded by trees and mountains is such an incredible experience.
As you can see, Ju County is a truly special place in so many ways. I feel enormously proud of my hometown's deep history, rich cultural traditions, tasty cuisine, beautiful natural scenery
along the Yellow River, and all the fun things to do here. Living in this amazing place has given me such an appreciation for my roots and heritage from a young age.
While I've traveled to other cities in China, there's no place quite like Ju County. Its unique combination of the ancient and modern, culture and nature, makes it endlessly fascinating to me.
I could spend hours wandering the old village lanes, watching embroiderers at work, exploring river parks and wetlands, and learning about our ancestors at museums. This is where I grew up and where my heart will always remain. I hope someday you'll have a chance to visit my wonderful hometown too!

My Hometown Ju County
Hi, my name is Xiaoming and I'm 10 years old. I want to tell you all about my amazing hometown called Ju County! It's a really cool place in Shandong Province, China.
First of all, Ju County has such a long and fascinating history. It was founded over 2,500 years ago during the Spring and Autumn Period. Can you believe people have lived there for that long? There are tons of cultural relics and ancient sites that you can visit. My favorite is the Culai Mountain Grottoes which has
over 200 cave temples and Buddha statues carved right into the mountainside. They are absolutely huge and so detailed – the artists who made them were incredible! I've been there on school field trips and it's just mind-blowing walking through the caves.
Another really old place in Ju County is the Wandu Mountain City ruins. This used to be the capital city of the ancient Ju State over 2,000 years ago during the Warring States Period. You can still see part of the giant city walls and palace foundations. It's crazy imagining how crowded and busy it must have been back then! My grandpa has told me stories about the rulers who lived there. I think it's so cool getting to learn about that old kingdom's history.
But Ju County isn't just about things from the past – it's also a nature-lover's dream! We have so many beautiful mountains, like Yuntai Mountain which is one of the most famous holy mountains in China. It's covered in lush green forests and has gorgeous scenery. There are also incredible rock formations, waterfalls, caves, and hiking trails all over the mountains. Sometimes my family goes camping there during the summer and we roast sweet potatoes over the campfire. The views from the top are breathtaking!
Ju County also has the majestic Xiaofu River flowing right through it. The river water is so clear and clean. In the warmer months, people love swimming, fishing, and boating in it. Have you ever heard of "air-conditioning beaches"? That's what we call the sandy banks along the river because the breeze coming off the water feels so nice and cool on hot days. A bunch of my friends' families have little cottages or beach houses right along the river. We spend so much time playing in the water during summer vacation!
Speaking of summer, the cuisine in Ju County is just to die for! We're famous across China for our delicious freshwater fish dishes. The local specialty is a type of fried crucian carp that is so crispy and flavorful. It's often seasoned with salt, pepper, cumin, and other yummy spices. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Another classic Ju County food is stir-fried river shrimp with green peppers – it's spicy but irresistible. We also have amazing fruits like peaches, pears, and grapes that grow in the fertile soil near the mountains and rivers. Everything is just so fresh and tastes amazing.
I feel so lucky being born in Ju County and growing up surrounded by such incredible nature, history, and food. We have amazing lively cultural festivals and markets too where
people sell delicious snacks, traditional handicrafts, and art. There's always something fun going on! I'm so proud of my hometown. Even though it's not a huge famous city, it has captured my heart. The landscapes are gorgeous, the historical sites make you feel connected to the past, and the people are warm and welcoming.
If you ever get the chance to visit Ju County, you absolutely have to! Just come with an empty stomach so you can sample all the yummy food. And don't forget to bring your hiking shoes to explore the breathtaking mountains. Whether you want incredible natural scenery, a glimpse into ancient Chinese history and culture, or just to experience the laid-back charm of a small county, Ju has it all. I hope I can show you around my hometown someday!

My Hometown - Ju County
Hi everyone! My name is Xiao Ming and I'm a 5th grader. Today I want to tell you all about my wonderful hometown, Ju County. I was born and raised here, and even though I'm still just a kid, I feel so lucky to call this amazing place my home.
Ju County is located in Shandong Province in eastern China. It's about a 3-hour drive from the big cities of Jinan and Qingdao. Even though it's not a huge metropolis, our little county has so much to offer.
One of the best things about Ju County is the beautiful natural scenery. We have tall, rolling mountains covered in lush green forests. My favorite is Tai Mountain, which has awesome hiking trails to the peak where you can see forever! There are also tons of rivers and streams flowing through the valleys, with crystal clear water that's perfect for swimming when it gets hot in the summer.
Our county is famous for its delicious local fruits too. Every autumn, my family goes fruit picking at the orchards and farms around town. We fill up baskets with juicy pears, crunchy apples, plump grapes, and sweet oranges. The farmers are always so friendly and let us snack on the fruits right from the trees and vines. After, we bring boxes of fruit home to share with our neighbors.
Another cool thing about Ju County is our rich history and cultural heritage. Our region has been continuously inhabited for over 4,000 years! There are ancient temples, old city walls, and historic sites all around. My favorite is the Confucian Temple
where students used to study and take exams a long, long time ago. I love imagining what it was like to be a kid back in those days.
Even though parts of our county are very old, the downtown area is modern with shops, restaurants, parks, and fun places for kids. There's an amazing bookstore that seems to have every book ever written. I love spending my allowance there and getting lost between the shelves of books. The toy stores are awesome too, filled with all the latest video games, action figures, and remote control cars.
During holidays and festivals, the streets come alive with the sights, sounds and smells of celebration. Lunar New Year is definitely the most exciting time of year. There are colorful lanterns and decorations up everywhere you look. Dragon dances wind through the streets, accompanied by the rhythmic pounding of drums and clashing of cymbals. And of course, there are endless stalls selling delicious festival foods like tandoori skewers, candied fruits, and sweet rice balls.
As fun as the festivals are, I also really enjoy the peaceful quiet times in Ju County. On weekends, my parents will pack a picnic basket and we'll head to one of the pretty parks or hillsides for a relaxing afternoon. We'll spread out a blanket,
nibble on snacks, read books, fly a kite, or just listen to the birds singing in the trees. Those are some of my favorite memories.
Even though I'm just a kid, I've traveled a tiny bit outside Ju County and I always look forward to coming back home. The big cities are exciting to visit, but they're so crowded, polluted and rushed. Our little county is the complete opposite - green, clean and relaxed. The air is fresh, the people are friendly, and there's a wonderful sense of community and tradition.
I'm so grateful to have grown up in Ju County surrounded by beautiful nature, fascinating history and culture, and most importantly, the unconditional love and support of my amazing family and community. Even if I move away someday for school or work, a huge piece of my heart will forever remain in my cherished hometown. It's truly a magical place.
So that's my hometown, Ju County! I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about where I'm from. Maybe you'll even get a chance to visit one day and experience the incredible sights, sounds, smells and tastes for yourself. I'd love to be your tour guide and show you all the best spots around town. Just let me know!。
