Why is REACh a Priority?
Companies will be banned from marketing products into the E.U. market if their products don't comply with the requirements of REACh Companies whose supply chains intersect the E.U. market face the risk of costly supply chain disruptions Risk Management – There are health, environment, business and legal implications to Xerox and our suppliers (including fines and imprisonment for company officials) Effective October 2008, Xerox EH&S Xerox regarding Supply Chain Training must respond to customers Confidential 4 the presence of specific substances
Supplier initial communication was completed ONLY for ink, toner and paper suppliers in 2007; OEM suppliers in 2008 All suppliers are required to complete EHS1001v5.0 form A, B & C upon release. The latest EHS1001 version can be found on website (below http://www.xerox.com/about-xerox/environment/cleanlink): http://www.xerox.com/about-xerox/environment/cleanmanufacturing/chemicals/enus.html Forms are to be submitted per program requirements (i.e.)
REACh Frequently Asked Questions
When will be requiring suppliers provide certs on EH&S 1001 v5? Effective May 18, 2009 all submitted certifications must be on EHS1001v5.0. Is this for all new part certs from that date forward? Or just new programs? For any/all new certs submitted. Legacy products will ultimately need to provide full SVHC information, starting with cables and harnesses per direction & priority from EH&S based on SVHC list and potential impacts/risks. Why is the supplier required to provide SVHC data for wire harnesses and cables? The initial SVHC candidate list contains substances used as plasticizers and flame retardants. Xerox has determined harnesses and cables represent the biggest potential product risk for the present SVHC list. How should Xerox AVL part numbers be addressed on Form C?
