小学英语有效诵读学习与研究》的研究成果报告
《小学英语有效诵读学习与研究》是我校教学研究2012.6—2013.6年度立项课题,课题研究经过一年的实践和研究,已基本完成了前期研究任务,已进入研究中期。
现将我们前期的研究成果报告如下:
一、问题的提出
有效诵读对于学生学好英语的重要性是不言而喻的,作为一线小学英语教师,在日常教学中我们更是深切地体会到这点,可以说诵读是学好英语的必要手段,但在教学中我们发现学生存在着“哑巴英语”现象,究其原因主要还是学生的诵读训练不过关,诵读习惯未形成所致。
全国基础教育外语教学研究资助金项目2012.9—2013.6年度立项课题申请时,我们结合农村小学英语教学的特点,立足于我校基础教育改革大背景,紧紧围绕英语课程标准,确立了以小学英语有效诵读为研究重点的科研课题。
二、现状调查
在初期我们通过制定问卷、口头调查、观察对比等发现学生普遍对英语诵读重视仅限于口头而未付诸于行动,主动诵读英语的习惯几乎没有,能够做到诵读的部分学生,也是在家长、老师的督促下不得已而为之,学生英语诵读习惯不稳定,部分学生根本没有英语诵读的习惯,更谈不上正确的诵读方法和技巧了。
课题组成员通过研究,结
合学校工作的实际,决定从学校、家庭、假日充分利用各种有效的时间锻炼学生的语言,创设语言氛围,提供诵读材料,具体诵读要求,组织训练及指导诵读等,使得课题研究得以顺利开展,取得了初步成绩。
三、研究结论
《小学英语有效诵读与研究》经过前期的研究与试验,在学生英语诵读习惯的形成,英语素养的提升及学生人格的发展和教师自身业务和科研能力的提高等方面都取得了一定的成效。
(一)学生英语诵读的习惯初步形成
实验初期阶段,我们制定了前测试题,并对所选取的实验对象进行诊断性测试,目的在于了解实验起点,收集资料,掌握学生诵读的现状。
前测调查显示,有41%被测者不喜欢英语,没有主动诵读习惯;被测者诵读能力普遍较差。
通过研究前测情况,我们掌握了学生当前诵读现状及形成原因,确立了具体的研究策略及实施步骤。
1. 明确目标,任务驱始,形成习惯。
根据前测的调查结果我们各位课题组成员,经过反复的研讨决定结合我校实际制定了“阶段目标诵读法”,即各位教师从自己所带班学生的实际和儿童的心智发展特点出发,选择适合的诵读材料对学生提出具体要求。
例如,在确定诵诵材料后教师提出明确要求,先在三
天内读会,一周内能熟练、流利诵读。
一周后要向全班同学展示诵读其他同学给予评价。
这样经过一个循序渐进的,由被动到主动训练过程,80%的学生在指定的时间内达到了老师提出的诵读要求,学生在完成任务的过程中体验诵读的成功与快乐。
这种任务驱动策略充分体现了以学生为中心的教育理念,从而最大限度地调动了学生的诵读积极性。
学生的诵读习惯逐渐形成了。
2. 课内外相结合进行诵读训练效果明显。
孔子说:“不愤不启,不悱不发。
”对我们进行诵读教学很有借鉴意义。
在学生进行诵读习惯培养的过程中我们在课堂教学中制定了“听—说—读”三步教学过程,首先不看诵读材料闭上眼集中注意力听一遍录音或老师范读,然后凭借记忆尽可能地复述,再跟着示范读。
放学回到家后,进行“听—读—录”三步复习。
即在听录音材料,熟练地诵读后,进行录音与原文比较,这样以诵读材料为中心从大到小逐渐深入,从模糊到清楚,逐渐准确,重视了整体语言能力的训练。
经过一年的训练各实验班级的英语诵读水平有了大幅度的提高。
另外,我们还利用课余时间组织多样的诵读表演和比赛等活动,及时地对学生的诵读效果进行检测,也使得初步形成的诵读习惯得以巩固,极大地提高了同学们参与英语活动的积极性。
(二)丰富语言积累,提升英语素养,提高学业成绩
英语诵读习惯的形成,促使学生积累诵读材料,丰富词汇,积累语言知识,训练思维,拓展知识的深度和广度,提高英语综合实践能力。
1. 学生掌握了初步的诵读技巧。
在前期调查中,我们发现学生对英语诵读的技巧知之甚少,以为诵读就是放开噪门大声喊,还有很多学生在诵读时养成了唱读,逐词读或跳过生词读的习惯。
这不仅影响文章的整体理解,更不能感受语言的节奏和音韵之美。
一篇生动鲜明而具体的语言材料被读得支离破碎而枯燥乏味。
教师通过反复的训练指导,学生初步掌握了节奏,重读、连读、语调的升降等诵读技巧,对于所有语言材料,现在80%的同学能较为标准地诵读了。
2. 培养了一定的英语语感。
在课题研究初期,我们调查发现20%的同学不喜欢念出声,常以默读代替诵读,由于缺乏口腔肌训练,口腔肌和大脑思维不能协调配合而导致语音、语调、节奏和语义不能自然结合,而语感与口腔肌的训练密切相关,所以这些同学说出的英语缺乏一种味道,是典型的Chinglish。
我们通过诵读训练而强化舌部肌肉的方法,坚持以快速、高声、清晰的方式来多读、多识,经过一段时间的训练,口腔自然适应了英语语音语调,从而产生出语感效应。
另外,教师通过范读或播放录音,保持学生的注意力,唤起他们的感知和想象,通过音调的变化产生一系列的声音形象,使学生的听觉、视觉等器官协调地进行活动,这样利用声音的形象也增强了学生的语感。
3. 通过诵读,学生感受到了语言的魅力
学生在诵读中通过抑扬顿挫的语调,快慢适中的语速,分明的节奏体会到“语音”的艺术性。
通过诵读习惯的培养,有50%的学生语言运用熟练,能够形成一种直感,在短时间内,对语言能够领悟,有所辨别。
优美的语言在诵读的过程中被赋予声音的外壳后最充分地表现出来。
学生感觉到美的语言不需刻意雕塑,得体、疏畅、上口便是“雅”,从而有了创雅的意识。
经过诵读训练,学生开始熟悉英语规律,加深对文章的理解,能领悟到文章精妙之处。
学生也为作品的内涵所吸引,被作品的情感打动,为作品的意境所陶醉,英语学习的自觉性也逐步形成。
4. 促进了学生学业成绩的提升,提高了教育质量
学贵有疑。
从产生疑问到消除疑问是学生学有长进的一个历程。
诵读使文字和声音相结合,使学习者同时观其形,读其音,闻其声,解其意,调动了大脑神经细胞的积极活动,引发思维。
学生初读文章时不理解、不懂的问题,通过自读自想而消除掉了,同时诵读又是记
忆的基础,诵读巩固、记忆已学的知识。
诵读中涉及的语音、语法、词汇等得以充分地理解。
经过一段时间的诵读训练我们六年级(3)班的学生学习成绩明显呈上升趋势,在2013年级期中小学英语教学质量检测中我校的班级的教学成绩名列前茅。
英语教学质量受到当地教育部门的肯定及家长的一致好评。
(三)英语诵读习惯的培养,促进了学生健康人格的发展。
通过诵读习惯的培养,学生的表达意识得到加强,一些性格内向的学生家长反映,自从孩子养成诵读习惯后变得开诵大方了,他们敢大胆模仿,不怕难为情了。
能够想办法克服诵读材料中的生词、难句,不知不觉中有了克服困难的决心。
诵读使学生突破了自身心理围墙,注意自我改造语言环境,能够敢干开口,不怕嘲笑,不怕丢脸,树立了为说好一句英语而磨破嘴皮的决心,克服了很多有碍诵读的不良习惯,增强学习英语的自信。
(四)教师的业务与科研能力得到提高
参与课题研究的教师在进行课题研究的过程中,集体研究,边实践边研究,通过思考、学习和总结,大家的理论水平和教学能力都有了长足的发展和提高。
获得了较好的成绩并得到了各界的认可和好评。
四、后续的研究
我们通过课题研究取得了初步成效,为我们后期的深入研究打下了一定的基础,但进入后期研究阶段我们仍存在大量需要解决的问题。
首先,我们要继续研究读与说的关系。
虽然,通过诵读大量的信息输入并通过内部语言系统理解、吸收了,但要把这些材料经过转化变为外部语言,能够自如地表达还是我们需要深入思考和研究的方向。
其次,继续巩固和强化小学生已建立的英语诵读习惯。
小学生的年龄特点和所处的环境都会对已形成的英语诵读习惯构成影响,因此,我们需要不断地给学生输入正确的信息,使得良好的习惯得以保持。
最后,各位参研教师还要在诵读方法、技巧、素材积累、语言环境的创设等方面多下功夫,进行指导和帮助,以期达到理想的目标。
