1. dude 老兄误解：“花花公子，纨绔子弟”实际：此词是叫男性年轻人常用的，与guy的意思相同，只是guy用的范围更广。
eg: Hey, dude, look at that girl.喂，老兄，看那个女孩!2. chick 女孩(有轻浮之意)误解：“妓女”实际：此词是叫年轻女孩常用的，语气中确实有轻佻，不尊重的含义。
eg: Look at that chick at the door.看门口的那个女孩。
3. pissed off 生气误解：“滚开，滚蛋”实际：此词是表示“生气，不高兴”的意思，与angry同意。
eg: Man, is that guy pissed of?哎呀，那家伙真的生气了?4. Hey, give me five! 击下掌吧!此短语非常流行，经常在大片中出现，击掌庆贺时用。
eg: Hey, dude! Give me five!嗨，老兄，击下掌吧!5. freak out 我要疯了，大发脾气误解：“奇异的，反常的”实际：是“大发脾气”的意思，out也可以省略，这个词在美国很常用，老式说法是 be very upset。

Play Possum 装糊涂

Possum属袋鼠类，多生活于北美，是美洲特有的动物，体形较小，体长约26厘米，尾长约30厘米。
幼兽能把自己的长尾巴缠在母兽的长尾巴上，让母兽背负着行走，故汉语称其为“负鼠”。
17世纪初（约1610年）弗吉尼亚的美洲移民初见这种小动物时，不知道它们叫什么，就去问印第安人。
印第安语叫aposoum，意思是“白色的动物”（虽然大多数负鼠的颜色是浅褐色或灰中带黄的）。
移民们觉得印第安语拗口难读，遂读成opossum，随后（约1613年）又将
其缩略为possum。
然而，这两种拼写形式在现代英语中仍然存在，其中又以possum最为常用。
据说负鼠在危急关头会装死，且演技逼真：它们栽倒在地，闭上眼睛，舌头从张开的嘴里伸出来。
即使被人连踢带打或被狗咬着摇晃，负鼠依旧纹丝不动。
一待危险过去，它们即刻跳起，一溜烟跑掉，如遇危险又会故伎重演。
根据负鼠的这一特征，美国人创造了play possum 一语，常用来喻指“装糊涂”、“装傻”、“装死”或“隐瞒真相”等意思。
然而，这个成语直到19世纪20年代才见诸文字，辞书一般将其标为口语，有时亦作act possum。
