There are three main kinds of abbreviations in English headlines

● About News Reports
Journalist English refers to the English used in newspapers and magazines in a broad sense . However, in our course , we are referring to news reports only .

Provincial Papers: published outside the capital . eg: The Yorkshire Post , The Scotsman, Kansas City Star... 2. According to the contents of the paper . Quality Papers : carry more serious news, like important world and domestic events , politics , finance ... eg: The Daily Telegraph , Washington Post ... Popular Papers : devoted to sensational stories , comic strips , pin-ups , and sports in order to attract the readers' attention. eg:The Daily Mirror , The Sun ,The Daily Express...
