A smart man asked people to put up lanterns, set off firecrackers and let off fireworks for 3 days. God found red light and big sound here and there. He thought that soldiers had come over. After that people put up lanterns to remember the day. Lanterns are made of bamboo, silk or paper. They were first used for lighting in the old days.
