Step1 : Warming up and lead-in
Listen to the song and learn some new words.
Step2 : Presentation
The teacher talks about the experience on the farm and shows the verb phrases relating to farm activities and the simple past tense :
talked with a farmer ; milked a cow ; fed chickens ; rode a horse ; went for a walk ; took some
photos
Step 3 : Chant
Chant to help remember these simple past of the regular and irregular verbs.

Ask and answer in pairs to practice : What did you do ? I …
Step 5: Guessing Game
Use the Did questions to practice using the verb phrases relating to farm activities . Step 6 : 1b
Listen to the tape and finish the task 1b. Then students work in pairs to check the answers using the Did questions.

Choose the best words to finish the conversation.
Step 8 : 2a &2c
Listen to the tape and finish the tasks.
Step 9 : Practice
Write down the right words to finish the passage about Carol’s happy school trip.
Step 10: Survey
Imagine you also went to a farm last weekend with your group mates. What did you and your friends do on the farm? make a survey and finish a passage.。
