PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system for relatively easily detecting the peak of a contrast value regardless of the value of a distance between an infinity end
and the end of the range where a focus lens is physically movable.
SOLUTION: The camera system has an interchangeable lens and a camera body. The interchangeable lens includes: a focus lens; a drive means for driving the focus lens; and a storage means for storing specific information where infinity margin which is the distance between the end of the movable range of the focus lens and the infinity end can be specified. The camera body includes: an acquisition means for acquiring the specific information from the interchangeable lens; a generation means for generating a control signal which makes the drive means drive the focus lens at an arbitrary speed according to the infinity margin that can be specified from the specific information acquired by the acquisition means; and a notification means for notifying the interchangeable lens of the control signal generated by the generating means.
