中国第一滩旅游度假区
中国第一滩旅游度假区位于广东省茂名市茂港区南海半岛上，离茂名市区 25公里，有一级公路直达，交通便利。 第一滩旅游度假区是广东省首批省级旅游度假区之一，也是茂名市首批国家 AAA级旅游区，有"东方夏威夷"之称。度假区内有12公里长，沙质洁白细软、 宽阔平缓的沙滩，沿沙滩外侧是连续不断宽达500-1000米的沿海防护林带。这 条防护林带，于上世纪六十年代营造，是我国第一条人工营造成功的沿海防护林 带，具有极高的声誉。我国著名的画家关山月的名作《绿色长城》就取材于此。 蓝天白云下，绿树与银滩共伴，为国内少见。度假区曾举办过多届世界和全国女 子沙滩排球赛，在国内外享有较高的声誉，社会形象良好。度假区形成了海滨浴 场区、海上运动区、海滨度假区和中心广场区四个功能区，开发了海水浴、日光 浴、海上运动、沙滩排球、度假疗养等旅游项目。近年来，更是利用第一滩附近 国内海岸动力气流最好的山坡--晏镜岭及有天然海滨机场美称的第一滩海滩，开 发出了高空运动项目——动力三角翼飞机及山坡滑翔伞。旅游接待设施日臻完善， 年接待游客超80万人次，曾先后被评为"市卫生优良景区"、"为广东旅游争光先 进单位"、"广东休闲好去处"等。

我的家乡是在茂名市。茂名市位于广东省西南部，鉴江中 游东侧。是广东目前石化工业较为发达的城市之一，市花是大 红花。 据历史记载，茂名秦朝时分属象郡和南海郡，隋朝时设 置茂名县。1959年设立茂名市，1983年实行市管县体制， 现辖茂南区、茂港区和电白县，并代管高州市、化州市和信宜 市。茂名市陆地总面积11459平方公里，城市建成区面积67 平方公里（2009年）。 2007年末，全市户籍人口716．44 万人,其中市辖区126．45万人。茂名“三高农业”蓬勃发展， 高州荔枝、香蕉、龙眼等“岭南佳果”驰名中外，在1996年 “中华之最”评选活动中，茂名市被国务院发展研究中心命名 为“中国最大的水果生产基地”。2000年，时任中共中央总 书记江泽民同志在高州出席县级领导干部“三讲”教育动员会， 期间亲手植下“中华红”荔枝树，使高州荔枝更是名扬天下。

茂名地区高州市种植荔枝的历史悠久，至今已有两千多 年的历史。在唐朝，高州荔枝已成为朝廷贡品，高州根子镇 柏桥村有一个老荔枝园叫贡园，唐朝进贡给杨贵妃的荔枝就 出自该园。 除了高州贡园外，茂名地区还有不少上百年的荔枝林， 而且不少的村庄自古以来就以“荔枝”命名，如泸州市合江 的荔枝觉悟村，中垌的荔枝根村和荔枝塘村，林尘的荔枝埒 村，信宜镇隆的荔枝村和新堡 的荔枝垌村，高州市分界的荔 枝山村和长坡的荔枝坡村，电白林头的荔枝山村等。 荔枝与香蕉、菠萝、龙眼一同号称“南国四大果品”。荔枝 原产于中国南部，是亚热带果树，常绿乔木，高约10米。果 皮肯多数鳞斑状突起，鲜红，紫红。果肉产鲜时半透明凝脂 状，味香美。但不耐储藏。杨贵妃因喜食荔枝而闻名。

为最佳。

信宜教育城
信宜教育城是信宜市委、市政府实施 “科教兴市”战略的重点工程，规模宏大， 气势雄伟，占地面积1500多亩，建有信宜 中学、教育城初中、教育城小学、教育城 幼儿园和市青少年宫五所学校，全部按花 园式现代化学校高起点规划、高标准建设， 现有学生18000多人。这是我们家乡的教 育标志，也是文化的标志。
