V. 判断题(共5小题,计5分)
阅读下面一篇短文,判断下列句子是否符合短文内容,符合的用“A”表示,不符合的用“B”表示。
A
The United States is full of automobiles(机动车). There are still many families without cars. But some families have two or even more cars. However, cars are used for more than pleasure. They are a necessary part of life. Cars are used for business. They are driven to offices and factories by workers who have no other way to get to their jobs. When salesmen are sent to different parts of the city, they have to drive in order to carry their products (产品). Farmers have to drive into the city in order to shop for necessities(必需品). Sometimes, small children must be driven to schools. In some cities, school buses are used only when children live more than a mile from school. When the children are too young to walk that far, their parents take turns to drive them to school. One parent drives on Mondays, taking her children and the neighbors’ children as well. Another mother drives on Tuesdays, another on Wednesdays and so on. This is called forming a car pool(拼车). Working people also form car pools, with three or four people taking turns to drive to the place where they work.

An old man was fishing on the bank of a river. A child came to see him fishing. The old man was really good at fishing and it didn’t take long for him to catch a full basket of fish. The old man saw the child was very cute, and he wanted to give her a whole basket of fish. But the child shook her head. The old man was surprised and asked, “Why don’t you want the fish?” The child answered, “ I want the fishing rod (竿) in your hands.”
The old man asked, “Why do you want the rod?”
“It doesn’t take long to eat all the fish in a basket. But if I have the fishing rod, I can go fishing by myself and I won’t be afraid of not having any more fish to eat.”
I think you will certainly say that the child is very smart. Wrong! If she doesn’t know how to fish, she can’t have fish to eat, even though she has the fishing rod. It’s useless to only have a fishing rod. Fishing skills (技能) are the most important, not the fishing rod.
Too many people think that if they have a “fishing rod” in their life, they will no longer fear the wind and rain. They are just like the child, who thought that if she had a fishing rod, she would have fish to eat.
( ) 59. Why did the old man get a basket of fish so easily?
A. Because he was good at swimming.
B. Because the child helped him.
C. Because he did well in fishing.
D. Because fishing is so easy.
( ) 60. Why did the child refuse the fish the old man gave her?
A. Because she didn’t like fish.
B. Because she wanted his fishing rod.
C. Because his fishing rod looked nice.
D. Because the old man had few fish.
( ) 61. What can you learn from the passage?
A. If you have a “fishing rod” in your life, you won’t be afraid of anything.
B. If you have a fishing rod, you’ll have a lot of fish to eat.
C. “Fishing skills” are more important than “fishing rods” in life.
D. Fishing is important.

Years ago, a teenager had some problems in his life, he might write them in his diary. Now a teenager with the same problem might get on the Internet and write them in his blog. In many ways, a diary and a blog are almost the same. So, what makes a blog different from a diary?
The biggest difference is that a blog is much more public (公众) than a diary. Usually, a teenager likes hiding his diary book and treats(对待)it as one full of secrets. Both diaries and blogs tell what happened to the writer that day.
A blog has both good and bad points. The biggest problem is that anyone can read what you write in your blog. If you are not satisfied with a friend during school and write something bad about him in your diary, he will never know it. However, if you do this on the Internet, that friend may read your blog and get angry. So we have to be careful of what we write.
A blog has good points, of course. People choose to write in blogs. They know that their friends will read what they write. If you are feeling sad one day and write in your diary, on one will know about it. If you write the same words in your blog, your friends may quickly write back to comfort you or offer their help. Blogs help people stay in close contact(联系)and let them know what their friends are doing.
Though it’s a good way to write blogs about everyday life, I still like writing my diary. ( ) 62. What would a teenager do if he had trouble many years ago according to this passage?

Plenty of children try to act like their parents. Acting like your parents is all ever well. But eating like your parents can actually improve your health.
For young children, meals are the most important part of the day. At meals, children gain important nutrients(营养物).
In western countries, restaurants often have kids’ menus. These are special menus full of smaller dishes for children. But a recent study from the University of Edinburgh, UK suggests it’s better for children to eat the same thing as their parents. The study shows that children’s dishes do
not have the same nutrients as the adult dishes.
In China, restaurants may not have special menus for kids, but in the West, it is common for children to eat snacks between meals. The study found that snacking during the day, or missing out a main meal, such as a breakfast or lunch, can have a very bad effect on a child’s health.
So what is it that we should eat, exactly? Certainly foods are great for young and old alike. Oily seafood is a good choice. Vegetables like spinach(菠菜)and broccoli should come top of your list.
When it comes to fruit, lemons might be bitter, but they are full of vitamins and health benefits.
