How to Convert an Inquiries into Firm Orders
A buyer who is already familiar with the price and other terms may submit a formal order for a
specified quantity of goods at a stated price. If the seller agrees with the specifications in the order and thinks he can comply with all the provisions, he may send a written and signed order acknowledgement. So, a sakes contract may come into existence as the result of an order by a buyer or an offer by a seller.
1.Speed A quick response will show the customer that you are keen and efficient. But the customer
has probably sent similar enquiry to other companies as well and they may be nearer to the customer than you. So speed is essential if your want to get the order. If there is any delay in sending your reply, you may lose the business opportunity.
2.Clarity All your correspondence and other written materials must be sent with completeness,
precision and clarity, and are made out in the manner requested by the customer. Query the details of the customer’s needs that are not clearly stated in his order. If you will not be able to comply, tell him immediately.
3. Keeping in touch If no reply to a quotation is received, the exporter should contact the customer
after a treasonable lapse of time to find out whether he is willing to have any further links and cooperation or whether he is placing an order. Follow-up letters should be sent to the customer from time to time.
