A Visit to the Doctor.
One sunny morning, I woke up feeling a bit under the weather. My throat was sore, and I had a stuffy nose. I knew I had caught a cold. Since it was a new week and I had a lot of schoolwork to catch up on, I didn't want to miss any classes. So, I decided to go to the doctor right after breakfast.
As I walked to the clinic, I could feel the familiar anxiety creeping up on me. I always get nervous when I have to visit a doctor. It's not the fear of the diagnosis, but the thought of having to explain my symptoms and answer a series of questions.
Once I reached the clinic, I was greeted by the
friendly receptionist who asked me to fill in a form with my personal details and symptoms. I did so quickly and handed it back to her. She smiled and directed me to the
waiting area, where several other patients were sitting, some looking worried, others chatting calmly.
The waiting area was filled with the familiar scent of disinfectant, mixed with the slight odor of medication. The sound of the television in the corner and the occasional cough or sniffle added to the ambient noise. I took a seat and tried to calm my nerves by reading a magazine.
After about ten minutes, my name was called. I stood up, feeling a bit apprehensive, and followed the nurse to the examination room. The doctor was a kind-looking man with a warm smile. He asked me to sit down and then proceeded to ask me about my symptoms. I explained to him that I had a sore throat, a stuffy nose, and felt generally tired and achy.
