我度过了一个繁忙的周末英语作文
A Busy Weekend
This past weekend was one of the busiest I've had in a really long time! It seemed like there was something going on every minute of every day. By the time Sunday evening rolled around, I was completely tuckered out. Let me tell you all about the craziness that was my weekend!
It all started on Friday after school. Normally I just come home, have a snack, do my homework, and then play outside or watch a little TV before dinner. But this Friday was different. As soon as I got home from school, my mom told me to quickly get changed into my baseball uniform because we had to leave right away for my game.
I had totally forgotten that my team, the Redbirds, had our first game of the season that evening against the Green Goblins.
I shoved down a granola bar and gulped some milk, then hurriedly put on my uniform. We rushed out the door and over to Elm Park where the game was being played.
When we got there, the rest of my teammates were already taking warm-up swings and tossing the ball around. I jumped out of the car and scrambled over to join them. After doing some
stretches, we huddled up and Coach gave us a pep talk about playing hard and having fun. Then it was game time!
The Green Goblins were pretty good, I have to admit. They scored a couple of runs early on. But we didn't get discouraged. We just kept swinging our bats, making our plays, and cheering each other on. Slowly but surely, we fought back and eventually took the lead! When the final out was made, we had beaten the Goblins 7-5. What a thrilling first win of the season!
After the game, we all went out for celebratory ice cream courtesy of Coach. I got a triple-scoop banana split, which was delicious but also gave me a bit of a bellyache from so much sugar. I crashed as soon as we got home that night.
The next morning, I didn't have much time to rest because it was the big day - my little sister Emily's 6th birthday party! The place was decked out with colorful decorations, balloons everywhere, and piles of gifts waiting to be unwrapped. Emily's party had a unicorn theme this year, which she had been super excited about for months.
Kids started arriving at 10am and soon the house was swarming with giggling 6-year-olds hopped up on cake and ice cream. We played games like Pin the Horn on the Unicorn, had a craft station for making unicorn headbands and wands, and
Emily even got to take turns riding a real pony that was brought over from a local petting zoo!
Things started winding down around 2pm after Emily opened all her presents. She got so many unicorn toys and books and clothes - she was one happy camper. As the last few kids were getting picked up by their parents, I looked around at the tornado zone that was our living room and just laughed. So much for cleaning up anytime soon!
Finally, it was Sunday - a day that I thought would be much calmer and more relaxing. But boy was I wrong! During Emily's party the day before, my dad had mentioned to a couple other dads that he was planning to do some spring cleaning and yard work on Sunday. And of course, those guys had volunteered me and themselves to come help out. So much for sleeping in and lounging around watching TV all day!
Bright and early at 8am, the doorbell started ringing with a bunch of my buddies and their dads arriving ready to get to work. My dad had made them all breakfast sandwiches and huevos rancheros. We all fueled up, then got moving clearing out the garage, cleaning the gutters, raking leaves, pulling weeds, trimming hedges, and giving the deck a fresh coat of stain.
It was hot, sweaty, dirty work - but also kind of fun to all be working together and getting stuff done. Every hour or so, my mom would bring out ice water and popsicles for a quick break. Finally, around 3pm we wrapped things up and everyone headed home, their cars loaded up with yard waste bound for the town dump.
Phew, what an exhausting but awesome weekend! I showered off all the grime, put on my comfiest pajamas, and spent the rest of Sunday zoning out on the couch watching movies with Emily. We were both too beat to move.
As I crawled into bed that night, I felt both completely drained but also really happy and accomplished. It had been a weekend packed full of fun activities, quality family time, and chances to help out others. Sure, I was utterly wiped out. But in the best possible way! I couldn't wait to go to school on Monday and tell my friends all about my super busy weekend.。
