The 92-year-old, thin, calm and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning
by eight o'clock, even though she is nearly blind, moved to a nursing home today.
Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the hall of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready.
As she walked slowly to the elevator, I provided a true description of her tiny
room, including the old sheets that had been hung on her window. “I love it.” she said with the happiness of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
“Mrs Jones, you haven't seen the room...just wait.”
“That doesn't matter.” she replied.“Happiness is something you decide ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged. It's how I arranged my mind. I have already decided to love it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away.” She went on to explain,“Old age is like a bank account. You take what you've put in. So, my advice to you would be to put in a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories. Thank you for your part in filling my memory bank.” And with a smile, she said,“All my memories are happy ones.”

When I was at school, our teacher told the class, “You are what you eat.” My friends and I would laugh and call each other “hamburgers” and “biscuits”. Our teacher was trying to show us the importance of eating the right food to stay healthy.
This was a few decades ago when there were big campaigns to make British healthier. We decided to throw out our chip(炸土豆条) pan which we had used to make chips every day for dinner. We replaced our chips with boiled potatoes. We also started using semi skimmed(半脱脂) milk instead of whole milk in our cups of tea and bowls of cornflakes(麦片). At first I felt like eating my cornflakes in water and my potatoes had no taste at all. But after a while I started to prefer healthier food because I felt stronger and I didn’t get sick so often.
Japanese people are regarded as the healthiest in the world because of the food they eat. The healthiest Japanese people eat rice and fish and vegetables every day. They drink green tea or water when they are thirsty, and snack on dried fish, fruit or gingko nuts. The traditional Japanese diet is famous for helping you to live a longer and healthier life.
So we have proof(证据) that you become what you eat. Can you tell what you friends eat just by looking at them? When you know the effects of different types of food, you can use your knowledge well and eat what you want to become.
43. The teacher says “You are what you eat” because______.
A. it is important to make your own food
B. we can be eaten
C. our food affects us
D. he makes a laugh at us
44. Why did the author stop drinking whole milk?
A. Because it tasted bad
B. Because she only wanted half a glass
C. Because she wanted to drink milk with less fat.
D. Because she felt that the whole milk had no taste at all.
45. Why are Japanese people said to be the healthiest in the world?
A. Because they don’t drink milk
B. Because of their traditional diet
C. Because their parents were healthy
D. Because they eat vegetables but never meat

Travelling
Travelling is a very good activity. When you are free, you can go to a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty of nature. You can breathe the fresh air, meet different people and make friends with them. Thus you will relax.
But travelling is not always pleasant. For example, the weather can be changeable. You may be caught in the rain and may catch a cold while travelling. You may have your money stolen or may be injured.
Therefore, when going on a trip, you must prepare yourself carefully. You should have clear information about the weather, choose a good travelling companion and be very careful about where you go so as to avoid accidents. If so,you will surely enjoy yourself.。
