Weifang is famous for being the "City of Kites." Every April, we have an amazing International Kite Festival where people from all over the world come to fly beautiful kites of all shapes, sizes and colors. It's so much fun to watch the kites dancing in the sky - my favorite is the huge dragon kite that seems to come alive as it soars through the air! During the festival, there are also performances, competitions, and delicious street food to enjoy.
Speaking of food, Weifang is known for its yummy local cuisine. We love our Weifang luzhu, which are special leek dumplings made with chewy, translucent wrappers. You can find these in restaurants all over the city. Another specialty is Weifang dapao, which are huge steamed buns stuffed with juicy pork and vegetables - just one is enough to fill up my belly! We also grow
lots of fresh fruit in Weifang like grapes, peaches, apples and pears.
Weifang has an amazing history too. It used to be called Changle and was an important place along the Grand Canal, which was a busy waterway that connected northern and southern China in ancient times. You can still see some old buildings, bridges and temples from those days. My favorite is Fudong Ancient Town, where all the houses and shops have gray brick walls and curved tiled roofs that look like they're from hundreds of years ago.
One special thing about Weifang is our Yiju Opera, which has been performed here for over 500 years! It's a type of traditional Chinese opera with beautiful singing, colorful costumes and fascinating stories. My grandparents love watching Yiju Opera and sometimes they take me to shows too. I don't always understand the plot, but I enjoy the music and the performers are so talented.
Our city is also famous for making good shoes and clothes. Lots of big brands have factories here, and my dad works at one that exports high-quality shoes all over the world. When I grow up, maybe I'll design shoes too! Everyone says "If the shoe fits,
it's from Weifang." We have cool malls and shopping streets where you can find trendy outfits and the latest sneakers.

Every year in April, we celebrate the Weifang International Kite Festival where people from all over the world come to fly the most amazing kites you've ever seen!
The city is famous for its waterwheels too. Waterwheels are huge wooden wheels that use the power of flowing rivers to grind grain into flour for making bread and noodles. Some of the old waterwheels in Weifang are over 500 years old! Watching them turn slowly while splashing water everywhere is such a soothing and peaceful experience.
Weifang is also well-known for its delicious food. My favorite is the Weifang stuffed bun – it's a steamed bun stuffed with juicy pork and vegetables. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! Another thing that makes Weifang special is the Yellow River, one of the most important rivers in China. It flows right through our city! We have parks all along the river banks where you can walk, have picnics or simply enjoy the beautiful views. During the summer, my family and I love going to the river to escape the heat.
You know what else is cool? Weifang has an amazing underground museum called the Fangzi District Cave Dwelling Exhibition Area. It's a huge underground maze of caves and tunnels where people used to live hundreds of years ago. Walking through it feels like travelling back in time! Some parts
even have old furniture and tools on display to show what life was like back then.
