16. 动词的语态
考点1.被动语态的含义。

为了突出动作的对象或没必要指明动作的执行者时，才用到了被动语态。

[例题] Mike, you _______ on the phone.
A. is wanted
B. want
C. are wanting
D. are wanted
【解析】答案：D。

根据题干意思，没有必要说明是谁在叫Mike，只是用被动语态来表明Mike被叫了。

考点2.被动语态的各种时态形式是靠be动词来帮助完成的。

be动词的时态形式就是被动语态的各种时态形式，过去分词是不改变的。

【例题】When and where to build the new school ________ ?
A. is not decided
B. are not decided
C. has not decided
D. have not decided
【解析】答案：A 疑问词+不定式的形式作主语时，谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。

根据题意应该用被动语态。

考点3.当被动句是描述某物体的特征、用途和产地时，被动语态用一般现在时。

[例题] — How beautiful your hometown is!
—Yes, a number of trees around Dazhou every year. Our environment is getting better and better.
A. are plant
B. are planted
C. are planting
D. were planted
【解析】答案：B 题干中有时间状语every year, 故用一般现在时。

考点4.被动语态的主语是谓语动词的动作对象，要求被动语态的谓语动词必须是及物动词，所以不及物动词如write（A pen writes well.）,sell(It sells well.)和系动词如look, taste, smell等是没有被动语态的。

[例题] ---The cake looks__________.
---Yes，and it tastes even________.
A．well，good B. nice，better C．good, worse D．better, best
【解析】答案：B 在句子中，系动词look，taste等词尽管没有被动语态，但是表示被动之意。

考点5.当need, want, require, worth(形容词)后面接doing也可以表示被动。

[例题] —Have you seen the TV play My Ugly Mother?
—Yes, it’s well worth _______. It’s _______ moving that I’ve seen it twice.
A. seeing; too
B. to see; enough
C. seeing; so
D. to see; such
【解析】答案：C worth seeing意为“值得被看”；后一空为so…that…句型，意为“如此……,以至于……”。
