在木屋房间里，南瓜堆成了一个个小山包，金灿灿的，宛如从地里搬回家的一幅温馨的丰收图画。南瓜能储存几个月，一时不会变质、腐烂。大部分南瓜是用来喂猪、喂家禽，但也有给人吃的，当粥配南瓜块很顺畅，不顶牙，易消化，最适合老年人；有时焖南瓜米饭吃，还有时选未成熟的青绿色的南瓜来刨成丝，炒嫩南瓜丝吃，但天天 吃南瓜，真的给吃腻了，吃怕了，那时生活艰苦，总觉得这粗茶淡饭乏味，没有鸡鸭鱼猪肉香。但人真的很奇妙，如今总是想着要吃当年的南瓜饭、南瓜粥、南瓜菜，而想着想着便口下生津。据资料， 南瓜营养丰富，含有人体所需的各种维生素和矿物质，多吃对身体健康大有裨益。这么平凡的南瓜，好像一夜之间被“发现了新大陆”。而现在老家种的南瓜都是新品种，论长相论品质都不如那时的南 瓜，现在南瓜是粗小不均匀，且带长形较丑的长相，暗褐色，皮硬如铁，味甜腻得像放过糖精；那时的南瓜品种像扁圆盘，大的有20多几斤重，也有10几斤重，颜色金灿灿的，微甜，味鲜。我纳闷，水 稻品种越发明，稻米越好吃；而南瓜品种越发明、越不断进化，反而越不好吃，总不会是舶来物吧？说起南瓜又让我想起红军时期的“红米饭，南瓜汤”，因此南瓜便有了厚重感。记得有一首歌谣： “红米饭那个南瓜汤，挖野菜那个也当粮，毛委员和我们在一起，餐餐味道香，味道香……”这首歌唱出了战争年代红军战士不畏艰苦和革命乐观主义精神，这是取得革命胜利的精神之一。我觉得人不能 娇生惯养，口嘴亦不能“娇生惯养”，吃得苦中苦，方为人上人。

风吹麦浪，想想置身于一望无垠的青麦田里，徜徉一下绿色激情，该是多么美妙的事情，但是，如果让你隐身于成熟的麦田里，手握一柄镰刀，或蹲或弯腰刈麦，脊背上面是火热的太阳炙烤，弯腰 低头面对的是，成熟小麦脚跟下的黑色干腐叶片，还有土尘。割麦人割一会儿站起来歇息下酸疼的老腰，若刚好还有人也站起身来，他们对望的时候，都会不自觉地嬉笑对方。原来，小麦生长过程中， 根底部老化的麦叶，丛在麦秸杆下，因为雨淋或者地面潮湿，时间久了霉菌滋尘，飞扬四下，割麦人脸上挂着汗珠，汗珠和着黑霉粉， 要么满脸黢黑，要么人中黑乎乎，这黑乎乎的一小团，跟当年看的战争片里，日本鬼子的那撮太阳胡有一拼。
