In other words, it does not mean that all of those who get high scores on eXaminations possess creativity in dealing with various problems. There are many stories that eXaminations failures turn out to be great scientists or successful entrepreneurs.Another effect is that eXaminations encourage bad study habits.Students tend to lay emphasis on the content which will be tested. They are encouraged to memorize rather than to think. Moreover, eXaminations induce cramming during the eXam week. However after the eXamination, most children forget nearly all the information and facts they stuff into their heads.EXaminations lower the standards of teaching as well.Theydeprive teachers of all freedom.Since teachers themselves are often judged by eXamination results, they have to train students in eXam techniques instead of teaching their subjects.Furthermore, students are required to learn only what teachers tell them.In conclusion, even though eXaminations have been used in the past, they should no longer be used as the only means of evaluation. They cannot assess a student’s performance in learning and they also have negative impacts on both students and teachers.(290 words)雅思背范文(篇三)The pie charts below show how dangerous waste products are dealt with in three countries.雅思小作文范文:The charts compare Korea, Sweden and the UK in terms of the methods used in each country to dispose of harmful waste. It is clear that in both the UK and Sweden, the majority of dangerous waste products are buried underground.By contrast, most hazardous materials in the Republic of Korea are recycled.Looking at the information in more detail, we can see that 82% of the UK’s dangerous waste is put into landfill sites. This disposal technique is used for 55% of the harmful waste inSweden and only 22% of similar waste in Korea. The latter country recycles 69% of hazardous materials, which is far more than the other two nations. While 25% of Swedens dangerous waste is recycled, the UK does not recycle at all.Instead, it dumps waste at sea or treats it chemically. These two methods are not employed in Korea or Sweden, which favour incineration for 9% and 20% of dangerous waste respectively.(15(9)雅思背范文(篇四)Dear Mr.Wang,I am much grateful to be employed by you two months ago as an editor for your magazine Design & Fashions.I appreciate the opportunity of having worked here with you and other colleagues. The eXperiences will be unforgettable throughout my life. However, as a young man whose primary interest is in computer science rather than fashion designing, I find my present job doesnt fall in with my previous training and strength.I therefore decide to quit this job for something else that may conform to my former preparation. Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience my leaving may cause.Yours truly,Li Ming雅思背范文(篇五)释义:给…加插图( illustrate的第三人称单数 ); 说明; 表明;(用示例、图画等)说明;Throughout, she illustrates her analysis with eXcerpts from discussions.自始至终,她摘引讨论内容来阐明她的分析。

新雅思8分作文范文(优选八篇)
雅思8分作文范文(优选八篇)5雅思8分作文范文(篇一)In many countries, the number of elderly people is increasing fast. To what extent do the disadvantages outweigh the advantages?Nowadays, owning to the improvement of living condition(这里习惯用复数), people can live much longer than before, which gives rise to the fast increasing number of elderly people. Some hold that this situation will result in a series of problems, such as social burden, population expansion and so on. While others insist that it agrees the development of modern society and brings many advantages. For my part, I take the latter side with(用for) the following reasons:(74words)点评:开头稍微写的有点长,不过内容写的还不错。
Firstly, elder people(一会儿elderly people,一会儿又elder people,这不是自相矛盾么) are the fortune of our society. They have enough experiences and capabilities which are badly lacked and needed for our youth when dealing with all sorts of problems, they can still do well in their jobs. Especially(前面应该用逗号,然后这里小写) in some professions, such as teacher, doctor, scientist and so on, sometimes (前面应该用句号,然后这里大写)age means the authority and ability. When you see a doctor, do you prefer an elderly doctor with grey hair or a youth without mustache? (77words)Secondly, elder people(同上) are the happiness of our society. Increasing number of elderly people is also the embodiment of our improving living quality, which shows our society run(应该第三人称单数)to the right and healthy direction, we(前面句号,这里大写) have more chance and time to serve our elderly people, and it’s the happiest time of all our life to accompany with(accompany是及物动词) our parents, grandparents and great grandparents. (63words)Finally, elderly people are the lubricant of our society. They have good temper and enough patients(应该是patience吧) to do anything, they can help us to intercede(它是不及物动词,而且主要用人作宾语) social disputes, and they make our society much more harmoniouswhich(前面较好有个逗号)makes for the construction of harmonious society.(43words)正文段综合点评:此篇是典型的5段式作文的写作,正文段构思出三个分论点来证明自己的观点,的确在构思上花了不少心思。

face the difficulties in life and never give up.In some parts of the song, Paul also told some stories between him and his girlfriend. Therefore, at first, many people thought this song was for his problems in China.People are fearing that they may get sick by eating polluted food outside.do people like houses attached with garden?Firstly, I guess its because people are like rare things as there is a huge population in China and people are mostly live in apartments, it is very seldom for people to live ina house with garden. The second reason I can think of is that nowadays people mostly work among skyscrapers and itll be very comfortable and released for them to see green stuff back home.you often go to visit gardens? No, not really, I think thats probably because there are few gardens in the downtown area.there any houses or apartments with gardens?Yes, there are houses with individual gardens and they are mostly in the rural area.As for apartments, usually there is a garden in the middle of the neighborhood.houses, is there any other types of housing with gardens?Eh, No, I don’t think so.I only know about apartments and housesabout organic food?Organic food is very popular nowadays because people today pay more attention on healthy, natural and nutritive food material.which occasion would people use flowers to decorate in China? On occasions when people move into a new house or a important guest in coming to pay a visit.flowers be utilized under other conditions? When you visit a patient in the hospital or pay respect to the dead in a cemetery.parks sell tickets? No, I dont think its reasonable for parks to sell tickets cause parks are public green space for people who live nearby to walk and get some fresh air.And its usually constructed and run by government, which means citizens have already paid for it by taXes.So, I dont think its appropriate for parks to sell tickets. They should be free to the public.雅思口语part1范文(篇十二)Describe a historical building in your country. You should say:where it iswhen and who you went withwhat it is likeand eXplain why you think you wanted to visit it.I don’t think you can talk about historical buildings in China without mentioning one of the most recognizable buildings in the world, the Great Wall.It is located in the north of China, with some parts close to the capital, Beijing.I visited it with my parents and siblings during a summer vacation a few years ago.Unfortunately this is peak season asthe weather is glorious and people like to travel during this period, so it was jam-packed.The Great Wall is one of China’s premier tourist attractions and as such is a major draw. The Wall itself was fantastic. As it is an ancient structure, parts of it are ruined due to the effects of time, but other parts have been reconstructed for tourists in order for them to see how it would have looked, as well as making it safe to climb. When you look out across the hills and mountains, it seems to go on forever, as far as the eyes can see.I wanted to visit the Great Wall as it is an iconic building in China, no trip to Beijing is complete without a jaunt out to the Wall.As far as I’m concerned it has a timeless quality and I could spend all day walking up and down it.It was voted one of the Seven New Wonders of the World and people say it is visible from space, although this is actually a misconception.雅思口语part1范文(篇十三)it good for children to take part in the teamwork?a leader important for teamwork?are the disadvantages of teamwork?one do you prefer, project-based teamwork or function based teamwork?is necessary for people to be good team members (not leader)?Sample answers:, I think so.Children cannot always work alone and many tasks and projects can only be accomplished through collective efforts. Also, in the future, no matter in their college life or in their career, they may be required to work in a team. But,the problem is that children tend to be more self-centered than adults and when they are very little kids, they usually do not know how to cooperate with others. So, if chances are provided, children should take part in the teamwork, trying to help each other, figure out solutions and improve their cooperation skills., of course. There should be someone to make final decisions and lead the team in the right directions.Although teamwork does have the advantages like less individual responsibility, less workload and so on, it does have the problems that some thoughts might conflict with others. The whole project may reach a plateau. If a leader is elected, he/she can make decision to take whose ideas, eliminating the conflicts.teamwork, it is hard to allocate the tasks equally to everyone. Some team members may feel unfair. For eXample, to writing a research paper, a team member may be responsible for collecting related information; another team member may beassigned to do some eXperiments. It is likely that collecting information is very difficult, while finishing the eXperiments is comparatively easier. So the one who searches for information may feel unfair.prefer function based teamwork. You know, in a function based team, everyone’s duty is clear-cut.Many redundancy can be reduced in this way.For eXample, in the app team, there might be 2 Android engineers, 2 IOS engineers, 1 project manager and 1 editor.According the titles of these positions, you can see that this is a function based team.I think less redundancy means higher working efficiency.think a good team member should have strong sense of responsibility. He or she has to make every efforts to accomplish his or her duties with high efficiency and quality. Thus, the leader doesn’t need to spend too much time on supervising his/her team members, taking more time to make important decisions and formulate blueprint for new projects. Thus, the whole team’s performance can be greatly enhanced.雅思口语part1范文(篇十四)you send gifts to others quite often?kind of gifts are popular in your country?there some special gifts in your country?are the difference between the gifts sent nowadays and those sent in the past?you have a child, when will you give presents to him/her?do you feel about receiving an eXpensive gift?Sample answers:really.Only when someone invite to their home or attend some kind of celebrations will I send gifts to others. For eXample, when one of my friends invited me to attend her wedding,I sent her a microwave oven as a gift. And usually, Chinese prefer to give red envelope with 500 RMB to 2000 RMB to the inviters instead of sending gifts. In this way, the inviters can use this amount of money to purchase whatever she/he likes.a common visit, we tend to send fruits, cookies and the like to the host. You know, most of people like to eat this kind of things. And we don’t want to send something the host doesn’t like.So food is always one of the best choices. For some important occasions like wedding ceremonies, we prefer to send household appliances as gifts. To conclude, Chinese are more willing to send necessities as gifts.my point of view, red envelope seems to be one of the special gifts in China.Every time when we celebrate ChineseLunar New Year, the elder would give red envelope to ually, within these red envelopes is money, ranging from 100 RMB to several thousand RMB.This money is called lucky money. The elder hopes the luck money can bless the kids have a lucky, happy new year.the past, like my parents, usually sent health products to the old as gifts. In their view, these products did good to people’s health. However, notion of health has undergone great changes.People start to recognize that most of these products eXaggerated their pesticide effect and some of them even have many side effects. As a result, nowadays people send other kinds of things such as fruits, cookies or household appliances as gifts.would give presents to him/her when he she celebrate for birthdays or for some other important events. For eXample, when he/she graduates from university, I would send him/her a business suit as presents. You know, after graduation, he/she has to look for a job and take lots of interviews.A business suit is necessary for interviews, which might leave employers good impression of the interviewers.depends on who send me this eXpensive gift.If one of my friend, not a close friend, send me an eXpensive gift, I wouldfeel a little bit nervous. And maybe later,I would send something back. However, if my parents send me a MacBook, I will not feel a great burden. You know, in Chinese cultural, how much eXpensive gifts you send depends on the relationship between you and the receiver.Too much or too less are both improper.。

雅思英文作文范文1. 教育话题题目:Some people believe that schools should primarily teach students how to become good citizens, while others believe that the main purpose of schools is to prepare students for the workforce. Discuss both views and give your opinion. In today's rapidly changing world, the role of schools is a subject of debate. Some argue that schools should focus on teaching students how to become responsible citizens, while others emphasize the importance of preparing students for the workforce.Proponents of the first view argue that schools play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens. They believe that schools should instill values such as empathy, tolerance, and civic engagement. By prioritizing citizenship education, schools can contribute to the development of individuals who are not only skilled in their professions but also actively participate in their communities. On the other hand, advocates for the workforce preparation perspective argue that schools must equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for their future careers. In today's competitive job market, practical skills and qualifications are essential for success. Therefore, schools should prioritize subjects that are directly relevant to the workforce. In my opinion, a balanced approach is necessary. Schools should strive to achieve both goals. By providing a well-rounded education that includes citizenship education and workforce preparation, schools can produce well-rounded individuals who are not only skilled professionals but also responsible citizens.2. 社会问题题目:Some people believe that the government should be responsible for providing healthcare for all citizens, while others think that individuals should take responsibility for their healthcare. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The issue of healthcare provision is a topic of ongoing debate. Some argue that the government should be responsible for providing healthcare to all citizens, while others believe that individuals should take responsibility for their healthcare.Supporters of government-funded healthcare argue that it is a fundamental right for all citizens to have access to healthcare services. They contend that a public healthcare system ensures that everyone, regardless of their financial status, can receive medical treatment when needed. This, they argue, promotes equality and social well-being.On the other hand, proponents of individual responsibility for healthcare argue that personal health choices, such as diet and exercise, play a significant role in one's well-being. They believe that individuals should take proactive measures to maintain their health and seek private healthcare options when necessary. This approach, they argue, encourages personal accountability. In my view, a combination of both approaches is ideal. Government-funded healthcare can provide a safety net for those who cannot afford private healthcare, ensuring that basic medical services are accessible to all. However, individuals should also be encouraged to take responsibility for their health through healthy lifestyle choices and preventative measures.3. 环境问题题目:Environmental problems are too big for individual countries and individual persons to address. In today's world, we should focus more on international cooperation. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Environmental issues, such as climate change and pollution, have global implications that extend beyond the borders of individual countries. Some argue that addressing these problems requires a greater emphasis on international cooperation rather than relying solely on individual countries and individuals.I strongly agree with the view that international cooperation is essential to effectively tackle environmental problems. Climate change, for example, is a global issue that requires collective action from nations worldwide. The impact of greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and other environmental challenges transcends national boundaries, making it impossible for any single country to address them in isolation.International cooperation can lead to the development of comprehensive strategies and agreements aimed at mitigating environmental problems. The Paris Agreement, for instance, is a testament to the power of global collaboration in addressing climate change. Moreover, international cooperation fosters knowledge sharing and technological advancements. Countries can learn from each other's successes and failures in addressing environmental issues, leading to more effective solutions. In conclusion, the scale and complexity of environmental problems demand international cooperation. While individual countries and individuals have a role to play, it is only through collective global efforts that we can hope to mitigate the impact of these challenges and protect the planet for future generations.4. 科技与社会题目:Some people argue that advances in technology have made our lives more stressful, while others believe that technology has made our lives easier and more convenient. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The impact of technology on our lives is a subject of debate. Some argue that advances in technology have increased stress levels, while others believe that technology has made our lives easier and more convenient.Supporters of the view that technology has increased stress levels point to several factors. They argue that the constant connectivity provided by smartphones and the internet has blurred the boundaries between work and personal life, leading to increased stress. Additionally, the rapid pace of technological change can create anxiety as individuals struggle to keep up with the latest developments. On the other hand, proponents of technology's role in making our lives easier highlight its numerous benefits. They argue that technology has improved communication, access to information, and efficiency in various aspects of life. Tasks that were once time-consuming are now simplified through automation and digital tools. In my opinion, technology has the potential to both increase stress and enhance convenience, depending on how it is used. It is essential forindividuals to strike a balance between leveraging technology for its benefits while also managing its potential negative impacts on stress. Responsible and mindful use of technology can lead to a more convenient and less stressful life.5. 社会变革题目:Some people believe that social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have a positive impact on society, while others argue that they have a negative influence. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The influence of social media platforms on society is a topic of ongoing debate. Some argue that these platforms have a positive impact, while others contend that they have a negative influence.Supporters of the positive impact of social media argue that these platforms facilitate communication and connectivity among individuals worldwide. They provide a space for people to share information, connect with friends and family, and raise awareness about important social issues. Social media has played a crucial role in organizing movements and campaigns for social change. However, critics argue that social media can have a negative influence on society. They point to issues such as cyberbullying, the spread of misinformation, and the negative impact on mental health. Theaddictive nature of social media and the potential for echo chambers where individuals are exposed only to like-minded opinions are also concerns. In my opinion, social media platforms have the potential for both positive and negative impacts, depending on how they are used. It is essential for individuals to use these platforms responsibly, critically evaluate the information they encounter, and be mindful of their online interactions. When used thoughtfully, social media can be a powerful tool for positive social change and connectivity.6. 社会问题题目:Some people believe that the government should regulate the fast-food industry to prevent health problems, while others think this is the responsibility of individuals. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The regulation of the fast-food industry is a topic of debate. Some argue that the government should intervene to prevent health problems, while others believe that individuals should take responsibility for their dietary choices.Proponents of government regulation contend that the fast-food industry has a significant role in contributing to health problems such as obesity and heart disease. They argue that stricter regulations, such aslimiting advertising to children or mandating clearer nutritional information, can help consumers make informed choices and ultimately lead to better public health outcomes. On the other hand, advocates for individual responsibility argue that adults should have the freedom to make their own dietary choices. They believe that educating individuals about nutrition and encouraging healthier eating habits should be the primary focus, rather than imposing government regulations. In my view, a balanced approach is necessary. While individuals should have the freedom to make their own choices, the fast-food industry does have a responsibility to provide clear and accurate information about the nutritional content of their products. Government regulations can help ensure transparency and protect consumers, especially in cases involving children's advertising.7. 环境问题题目:Some people believe that the best way to solve environmental problems is to increase the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles. To what extent do you agree or disagree?Addressing environmental problems, particularly related to carbon emissions and air pollution, is a critical concern. Some argue that raisingthe cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles is an effective way to incentivize environmentally friendly behavior.I strongly agree with the view that increasing the cost of fuel can be an effective strategy to combat environmental problems. Higher fuel prices encourage individuals to use public transportation, carpool, or consider alternative transportation options such as electric or hybrid vehicles. This, in turn, reduces the carbon footprint and air pollution associated with traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.Furthermore, the additional revenue generated from higher fuel prices can be reinvested in the development of cleaner and more sustainable transportation infrastructure, such as improved public transit systems and bike lanes. In conclusion, increasing the cost of fuel for cars and other vehicles can serve as a powerful incentive for individuals to adopt more environmentally friendly transportation choices. This measure not only addresses environmental problems but also promotes sustainable and responsible behavior.8. 科技与社会题目:Some people argue that the widespread use of smartphones and social media has led to a decline in face-to-face social interactions. Do you agree or disagree? The impact of smartphones and social media on face-to-face social interactions is a matter of ongoing debate. Some argue that these technologies have led to a decline in such interactions, while others disagree.I agree with the view that the widespread use of smartphones and social media has, to some extent, led to a decline in face-to-face social interactions. Many people are now more engaged in their digital lives, constantly checking their phones for messages, updates, and social media notifications. This can reduce the quality and quantity of in-person interactions. Moreover, the convenience of virtual communication can lead to a preference for online interactions over face-to-face conversations. People may choose to communicate via text or social media rather than meeting in person, which can contribute to a decline in direct human contact. However, it's essential to recognize that technology's impact on social interactions is complex and multifaceted. While there are challenges associated with smartphone use, these devices also enable connections with people across long distances and can enhance social interactions in various ways. The key is to strike a balance between digital and in-person communication to maintain healthy social relationships.9. 教育话题题目:Some people believe that students should be given one long vacation each year, while others believe that students should have several short vacations throughout the year. Discuss both views and give your opinion. The structure of school vacations is a topic of discussion. Some argue that students should have one long vacation each year, while others believe that several short vacations throughout the year are more beneficial.Proponents of one long vacation argue that it provides students with an extended period for relaxation and the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities, such as travel or internships. They contend that a lengthy break allows students to recharge and return to school with renewed enthusiasm. On the other hand, advocates for several short vacations believe that shorter breaks distributed throughout the year help maintain continuity in learning. They argue that students are less likely to experience "summer learning loss" and can better retain knowledge when they have regular breaks for rest and rejuvenation. In my opinion, a combination of both approaches can be beneficial. Having one long vacation each year can provide students with an extended break for exploration and relaxation. However, incorporatingshorter breaks throughout the academic year can help students maintain focus and prevent burnout. The key is to strike a balance that ensures students have ample opportunities for both learning and leisure.10. 社会变革题目:Some people argue that advancements in automation and artificial intelligence will lead to widespread job loss and unemployment. Do you agree or disagree? The impact of automation and artificial intelligence on employment is a topic of concern and debate. Some argue that these advancements will result in widespread job loss and unemployment, while others disagree.I believe that while automation and AI will indeed reshape the job market, they may not necessarily lead to widespread job loss and unemployment. Automation has the potential to eliminate certain routine and repetitive tasks, but it also creates opportunities for new types of jobs and industries. For example, as automation takes over routine tasks, it frees up human workers to focus on more creative and complex aspects of their jobs. Additionally, the development and maintenance of automation systems and AI technologies require skilled workers, leading to the creation of jobs in those fields. Moreover, automation and AI have the potential to improve productivity and efficiency in various industries, which can lead to economic growth and the creation of new businesses and jobs.In conclusion, while advancements in automation and artificial intelligence will undoubtedly impact the job market, the overall effect may not necessarily be widespread job loss and unemployment. Adaptation, reskilling, and a focus on emerging industries are essential for individuals and economies to thrive in the changing landscape of work.。

雅思考试写作范文(推荐十四篇)5雅思考试写作范文(篇一)In recent years, there has been growing interest in therelationship between equality and personal people believe that individuals can achieve more inegalitarian societies. Others believe that high levels of personal achievement are possible only if individuals are free to succeed or fail according to their individual is your view of the relationship between equality and personal success?平等社会个人成就大;放任自由发展的社会个人成就大。
你认为呢?In my opinion, an egalitarian society is one in which everyone has the same rights and the same opportunities. I completely agree that people can achieve more in this kind of society.Education is an important factor with regard to personal success in life. I believe that all children should have access to free schooling, and higher education should be either free or affordable for all those who chose to pursue a university degree. In a society without free schooling or affordable higher education, only children and young adults from wealthier families would have access to the best learning opportunities, and they would therefore be better prepared for the job market. This kind of inequality would ensure the success of some but harm the prospects of others.I would argue that equal rights and opportunities are not in conflict with people's freedom to succeed or fail. In other words, equality does not mean that people lose their motivation to succeed, or that they are not allowed to fail. On the contrary, I believe that most people would feel more motivated to work hard and reach their potential if they thought that they lived in a fair society. Those who did not make the same effort would know that they had wastedtheir opportunity. Inequality, on the other hand, would be morelikely to demotivate people because they would know that the odds of success were stacked in favour of those from privileged backgrounds. In conclusion, it seems to me that there is a positive relationship between equality and personal success.【雅思考试满分作文范文【精选5篇】】雅思考试写作范文(篇二)对于第二段,将重点放在我自己的想法上,并用三点来进一步发展。
雅思考官大作文范文(热门13篇)
Trade and travel would be a lot easier with a single, global currency that we all use.Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Would a single currency cause any problems? It is clear to me that the idea of a single global currency is an excellent ideal to work towards. There can be no doubt that trade and travel would be vastly easier. On the other hand I believe that it would cause problems today. The benefits of a single currency can be seen with the use in Europe of the Euro. Whenever you are travelling between countries using the Euro, the problems of currency changing and exchange rates are history. Similarly business between countries using the Euros is so much easier; no more worrying about exchange rate risk and pricing. Everyon e‛s money is the same. The same thing is true with the US dollar. Most countries do not use the US dollar but it is accepted in many places. There are many countries that you can travel to and just take US dollars to use.At present though a global currency would be impossible. Firstly most countries would not accept the idea. Secondly all countries are in different economic states. Some are economically very strong and some are in a state of collapse with inflation ruining the economy. Such countries could not be brought into a world currency as it would cause massive financial instability worldwide. So it is clear that a global currency would indeed cause some serious problems. So, in conclusion I see a global currency as a future ideal but it will not happen in my lifetime. It would make trade and travel much easier but the problems it would cause nowadays would be insurmountable.

It is perhaps the long-disturbing traffic issue that drives governments all over the globe to make great efforts in establishing or improving theirtraffic system. Nevertheless, I still cannot be enrolled in the camp that claims it is wise to construct railway rather than roads.
Undoubtedly, the railway construction, in a way, can be deemed as a win-win program for both the country and its citizens. After all, pared with other types of transportation, the transporting load of railage in a unit time is the largest and it is also the fastest approach of conveyance on land. Simultaneously, due to its strikingly strong operating system in running, it can scarcely entail any congestion. Evidently, it is advantageous to implement the plan referred to railway establishment.

Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on your personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life.Which do you consider to be the major influence?(2012年5月真题)Today the way we consider human psychology and mental development is heavily influenced by the genetic sciences. We now understand the importance ofinherited characteristics more than ever before. Yet we are still unable to decide whether an individual's personality and development are more influenced by genetic factors (nature) or by the environment (nurture).Research, relating to identical twins, has highlighted how significant inherited characteristics can be for an individual's life. But whether these characteristics are able to develop within the personality of an individual surely depends on whether the circumstances allow such a development. it seems that the experiences we have in life are so unpredictable and so powerful, that they can boost or over-ride other influences, and there seems to be plenty of research findings to confirm this.My own view is that there is no one major influence in a person's life. Instead, the traits, we inherit from our parents and the situations and experiences we have in life are constantly interacting. It is the interacting ofthe two that shapes a person's personality and dictates how that personality develops. If this were not true, then we would be able to predict the behaviour and character of a person from the moment they were born.In conclusion, I do not think that either nature or nurture is the major influence on a person, but that both have powerful effects. How these factors interact is still unknown today and they remain largely unpredictable in a person's life.雅思写作满分范文第2篇Happiness is considered very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?Happiness is very difficult to define, because it means so many different things to different people. While some people link happiness to wealth and material success, others think it lies in emotions and loving personal relationships. Yet others think that spiritual paths, rather than either the material world or relationships with people, are the only way to true happiness.Because people interpret happiness for themselves in so many different ways, it is difficult to give any definition that is true for everyone. However, if there are different kinds of happiness for different individuals then the first step in achieving it would be to have a degree of self-knowledge. A personneeds to know who he or she is before being able to know what it is that makes him or her happy.Of course, factors such as loving relationship, good health, the skills to earn a living and a peaceful environment all contribute to our happiness too. But this does not mean that people without these conditions cannot be happy.Overall, I think an ability to keep clear perspectives in life is a more essential factor in achieving happiness. By that I mean an ability to have a clear sense of what is important in our lives (the welfare of our families, the quality of our relationships, making other people happy, etc.) and what is not (a problem at work, getting annoyed about trivial things, etc.).Like self-awareness, this is also very difficult to achieve, but I think these are the two factors that may be the most important for achieving happiness.(262words)雅思写作满分范文第3篇给出一个社会热点问题,探讨产生的原因及解决方案注意:探讨原因影响解决方案时,从「个人」「社会」「国家」三个不同角度思考开头段:It is undoubtedly the case that urban areas around the world increasingly suffer from _(+社会热点问题)________ . Some people work for the same organization all their working life. Others think that it is better to work for different organizations.Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. For most people, when they get their first job they have little idea whether or not they will remain in the same organization throughout their working life. If they decide to change, they need to consider how this will impact on their career overall. People who stay with the same organization will have the advantage of a thoroughly understanding how it works and also becoming familiar with the staff and processes. If they work hard, their promotion prospects are good and there is likely to be greater job security with a promise of a good pension when they retire. Employers value loyalty and may offer additional incentives to long-term employees, including bonuses and reward schemes. However, one of the drawbacks of staying with the same organizations is that the person may get stuck doing the same job year after year. In some cases, this can lead to boredom and disillusionment. Moving from one organization to another can be a strategic decision in order to have variety and acquire a range of skills and experience.9. A friend of my father started out as a sociology teacher, he then joined the Social Services and is currently managing a care home inWestern Australia. 10. This has made him incredibly knowledgeable in a range of related fields and, in my view, has provided him with a much more interesting working life. There are benefits to working for one organization; I feel that it is also valuable for an employee to be able to offer a wide range of experience having worked for different companies. As long as it is planned carefully, I feel that change is good and will ultimately benefit the employee and the employer.(281 words)One of the consequences of improved medical care is that people are living longer and life expectancy is increasing.Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?Over the past 50 years, people have become used to the idea that they will probably live longer than their grandparents did. However, a longer life is only desirable if you can look after yourself and be independent, otherwise there can be disadvantages for everyone. If you walk into a hospital in my country, you are likely to see a lot more elderly people than you did in the past. In fact, this is causing significant problems as there is a shortage of beds. Medical treatment is keeping the elderly alive, but at what cost to others? On top of this, one of the biggest medical problems these days is dementia. Even if old people are still fit, they may not be able to look after themselves. They may have to live with their children or be cared for in a home, which can be expensive. Elderly people do not like to be a burden, but their children can feel obliged to care for them. Obviously, not all old people become ill. Those who remain healthy can enjoy a happy old age as long as they have saved enough money. People are much more active in their sixties and seventies than they used to be and this can only be a good thing. They have time to enjoy their retirement and do a range of activities that then could not do when they were at work. They can also help look after their grandchildren, which is a great benefit for working parents. To sum up, I believe that we should aim to keep people as healthy as possible so that they can enjoy their old age without having to rely on others. A longer life expectancy is obviously advantageous, but no one wants to live to be 100 if they only cause problems for their family and society.(308 words)Car ownership has increased so rapidly over the past thirty years that many cities in the w orld are now ‘one big traffic jam’.How true do you think this statement is?What measures can governments take to discourage people from using their cars? Most people would agree that car ownership has increased in recent years and is causing a range of problems, particularly in build-up areas. I think there are a number of ways that governments can aim to deal with this. Many big cities in the world have traffic problems but these problems vary. For example, it is reasonably easy to drive around my city after 10 am and before 5 pm. However, outside these hours, you have to allow double the usual time to reach your destination. In some other cities, traffic is congested at all times, and there is the continual sound of car horns as people try to get wherever they want to go.One of the best approaches governments can take in busy cities is to encourage the use of public transport. This means the transport facilities have to be well run and people must be able to afford them. Buses, trams and trains are good ways of getting around, and if they are cheap and reliable, people will use them.Another approach is to discourage people from actually entering the city by building car parks and shopping centers on the outskirts. Many cities around the world do this quite successfully and offer passengers bus transport into the centre, if they need it.At peak travel periods, governments can also run campaigns to encourage people to be less dependent on their cars. Apparently, a lot of car trips involve very short journeys to, say, the supermarket or local school. These are often unnecessary, but we automatically get in our cars without thinking.Clearly we all have a responsibility to look after our cities. Governments can do a lot to improve the situation and part of what they do should involve encouraging individuals to consider alternatives to driving.(308 words)Test 4In some countries an increasing number of people are suffering from health problems as a result of eating too much fast food. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food.To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? The growth of the fast food industry has, without doubt, impacted on the eating habits and the health of many societies around the world. Diabetes, high cholesterol, heart and respiratory problems are all on the rise due to fatty and sugar-rich food. However, the question is whether higher tax would improve this situation or not. From an economic point of view, higher tax might seem sensible. In countries such as the USA,Australia and Britain, the healthcare system spends a large part of its budget on people with diet-related health problems. It could be argued that these people have caused their own illnesses because of their choice of food. In this case, why should they expect the state to pay for their treatment? The tax could help fund the healthcare system. However, we also need to consider which socio-economic group consumes fast food as the main part of their diet. Statistics indicate that lower income groups eat more of this food than wealthier people. One possible reason for this is that fast food is far cheaper than fresh produce. This is because many governments offer large subsidies to farmers who provide products for the fast food industry, such as corn, wheat and beef. Fruit and vegetables, on the other hand, are not subsidized. Research suggests that many families simply cannot afford to buy healthy food or pay higher taxes on fast food. For them, fast food is not a choice but a necessity. In conclusion, imposing a higher tax on fast food does not seem to be the answer. If the government chose to do this, it would only lead to greater poverty and families facing further hardship.(278words)Nowadays technology is increasingly being used to monitor what people are saying and doing (for example, through cellphone tracking and security cameras). In many cases, the people being monitored are unaware that this is happening. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages? In recent years, advances in technology have allowed governments, the police and privately owned companies to keep the public under constant surveillance. In many major cities and towns, security cameras are recording the movements of ordinary citizens. Whenever a cellphone is used, the call is logged, so the service provider knows exactly when and where the user made the call. Invisible satellites orbit the Earth, watching us whether we like or not. Is this, however, a development we should welcome?Certainly there are benefits. In areas where there is a high crime rate, the use of security cameras may act as a deterrent to criminals: If they can see a camera, they may think twice about breaking into a building or stealing a car. If a crime is carried out, then a camera may provide useful evidence. The same is true for a cellphone: the police sometimes rely on call logs to help them track the whereabouts of suspects or victims. On the other hand, there are a number of concerns. In countries where human rights are ignored, the use of security cameras or listening devices may be harmful to society. People should be able to hold meetings and express their opinions without their privacy being invaded. There is also a very different issue we should consider. Nowadays, many people upload personal information and photographs onto social networking sites; they often do not realize how easy it is for other people to view this information or for the site owners to use the data or photographs for their own financial gain.It seems inevitable that there will be more and more ways to monitor society in the future. However, it is our responsibility to evaluate new technology and decide whether it will do more harm than good. Surely our freedom is more valuable than technological progress?(307 words)In the past, when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country.Nowadays, they have more opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this development? The pursuit of knowledge is a concept that is valued by most cultures. In the 21st century, we now have many more options regarding how and where to find that knowledge. If you are a French national, you can apply to do an economics degree in the USA, and likewise an American citizen can take a course in linguistics in France. Indeed, most universities across the world now have a good proportion of foreign students enrolled in their programmes.Certainly, there are numerous advantages of studying in a different country. M any students choose to do this because they know that a particular university, for instance Stanford BusinessSchool, has an excellent reputation. Graduating from here, they believe, will increase their chances of securing a decent position in a company back home. Students studying abroad also have the opportunity to form friendships with people of various nationalities: in time, these may develop into useful professional networks. Furthermore, living far from family and friends can enable young people to become more independent and self-sufficient.Unfortunately, the experience of studying abroad is not always a positive one. Research suggests that a small percentage of young people struggle to adapt to their new environment and suffer from severe culture shock. The situation can become worse if the student is not mature enough to cope by themselves. Different approaches to teaching and learning may also come as an unwelcome surprise to some students. In essence, the key to a good experience at a foreign university is an open mind. If a student is presented with this opportunity, they should certainly seize it.(267 words)Some people get into debt by buying thing s they don’t need and can’t afford. What are the reasons for this behavior? What action can be taken to prevent people from having this problem?Nowadays we are living in a society based on consuming. As a result, some people have problems in dealing with this budget and they get into debt by buying things they don’t need and can’t afford. This kind of behavior is encountered quite often in our present days, mainly because of the possibility of buying goods in leasing. Hence, people buy most of the goods using the credit card without having a clear idea on how much money they possess or they owe. Also, another cause for this behavior could be psychological. The advertisement and the subliminal messages one encounters in a regular day in a big city has an enormous impact on one’s brain. The main problem is the lack of awareness of the serious effects that advertisement can have on people. In order to prevent people from adopting this dangerous behavior, measures should be taken so as to raise awareness among people. Also, one must learn how to manger his budget in order to get a balance between necessiting and pleasure. Keeping a record on income and monthly spendings would be very helpful and would give to the consumer an overall image on how his budget should be spent. All summed up, the chances of becoming a victim of the consumer’s society are high nowadays due to the surrounding temptations but this problem could be easily avoid by being aware of this dangers and having a rational attitude when dealing with money.(244 words)。

雅思考试写作范文1there has long been controversy over the legality and apparent acceptance of tobacco in society .some hold that cigarettes and other tobacco containing products should be banned, that is, treated as agree with this point of view for the following reasons:although cigarettes do not offer as intense an effect as drugs like heroin and cocaine, they rank higher in the level of dependence it creates in the of smokers try to rid themselves of cigarettes but cannot, because of the physiological dependence they developed, chiefly imputable to its chemical explains why smokers continue their habit despite the numerous health warnings. furthermore, medical science has now proved beyond a doubt that smoking all the other causes of preventable deaths such as alcohol, illegal drugs, aids, suicide, road accidents, fire, and guns, cigarettes still account for more preventable deaths than all of those combined.more disturbingly, whilst the use of heroin is dangerous solely to the users, the use of tobacco endangers those who are in their vicinity as well. this phenomenon, known as passive smoking, nulls the counter-argument that putting one's own health at risk through smoking should be up to one's own individual have shown that the amount of second-hand smoke inhaled by a typical nonsmoker is equivalent to one cigarette smoked per day,and what is more, passive smoking can increase a nonsmoker's chance of getting cancer by ten to thirty two per cent.there are those who will say that the black market created by outlawing tobacco will produce deadlier cigarettes because the product standards of the bootleggers are not as should all bear in mind that legal cigarettes cause roughly four hundred thousand deaths a is hard to imagine the limited distribution provided by the criminal underworld could compete with this tragic figure.to sum up, the harm visited upon our society by tobacco usage is will be no solution other than to control tobacco much in the same way that the government now controls drugs which could allow people to remain attentive to the seriousness of the effects of these substances, and hopefully to prohibit their usage.雅思考试写作范文2Nowadays, the gap between the city and the countryside becomes more and more overt, which arouses colossal concerns. To understand t he solution, let’s take a closer look at the causes of the gap at first. The main reason of the gap is the unequal investment between city and rural area. China is a typical example. While more and more money is being invested to the coastal areas and big cities, such as Beijing and Shanghai, the lack of investment barriers greatly the society development of rural area and western regionsThe low education level partly sharps the gap. There is no doubt that the prime force of productivity is education. However, because of poverty, thousands of people go to work without graduating from primary school. The poorer, the few children go to school. This bad cycle finally leads to the dream of rich becoming a dream that is hard to realize. Moreover, the rural area is short of people with high quality. A survey proved that most of university students, whether they come from city or countryside, choose big cities instead of poor areas to work. The rural area can neither adept talent man nor attract talent man. No wonder the gap is increasing largely.Hence, The government ought to knock itself out to decrease the gap as soon as possible. First, balance the investment between city and rural area. In addition, the education level should be improved, especially pay attention on raising high quality people. Besides, let more people realize the latent capacity of rural area in order to attract talent and investment. The set up of CCTV channel12-western region channel is a good example.Only when the ways mentioned above are realized step by step, can the gap between the cities and the countryside be bridged.雅思考试写作范文3the birth of cars have made an enormous change to our the past,we travel from one place to another only by foot, nowaday, cars can do it .its goes withour saying that the invention of cars bring great benefit to all of as proverb goes:no garden without is not exception.owing a car has a lot of one thing, car provide us the most convient way of can get around freely without spenting a lot of always found driving is so another, its the comfortable to drive a always can stay warm and dry even in rainy whether,in addition, drivers are usually safe in their cars when they are out at night.Cars bring the human merits, their side-effects graudually come to the run a car need a lot of oil, which is getting less and increasing number of cars contribute the lacking of more and more cars are used, the traffic ecpecially in big cities is getting heaver and heavier, which lead to the serious social problem--traffic addition, the inceasing numbers of cars ,which excaust sent a huge quantities of carbon monoxide into make the air of cities unbreathabe,it strip people contact with frensh air.therefore, the new energy should be explored to replace the oil so that our envionmental pollution can be avioded .and the strick law should be issued to keep the numbers of cars under heavier traffic can be solluted!雅思考试写作范文4Private cars vs Public trafficAs traffic problems become more and more serious in many cities of developed and developing countries, their governments have to try hard and loads of money and energy have been spent to deal with them.Firstly, it is not efficient for the commuters to use their private cars to and back from their workplaces. Occasionally we can see they have to sit on the wheels wasting time and fuel in a heavy traffic jam. At the same time, through burning the fossil fuels, green house gas CO2, CO1, acid rain gas SO2, fumes and dusts are being released into the atmosphere, all of which heavily overload the environment. Thirdly, with the increase of private cars, the road trafficaccidents are also rise dramatically. For example, in a city with 5000 cars, there will be at least 250 accidents happening everyday, which also burden the public healthy services. On the contrary, expected public traffic may be an ideal solution to these problems. For example city buses and railways are widely used or being constructed by many cities. People can take buses easily, which can be found every 10 minutes or less in the peak time. Actually, Nottingham Transport Company is building its own light railway in the city, which is announced by the speak man of the company, “It will be completed in the next year, the tickets will be very competitive and at the same time the travel will be very safe and comfortable.”On the other hand, public traffic had its own disadvantages. Usually it cannot provide door-to-door service. It is inconvenient to go shopping by public vehicles. Sometimes you must wait a long time for the train. And quite a lot of people prefer to enjoy driving. In conclusion, developing the public traffic is a useful approach to deal with these difficulties. One possible way, if not the best, is to taxi private cars heavily and use these revenues to provide citizens cheaper public traffic services.雅思考试写作范文5Nowhere in the world has the issue of tobacco been so much debated as inour society. Nowadays, tobacco is more harmful than drug to people’shealth, therefore many people think that smoking is legal that is a direct andprimary reason to induce this kind of problem. The above point is certainlytrue; this essay will outline three reasons. The main reason is that tobacco is a silent killer to smokers. Tobacco isknown to be the probable cause of some 25 different diseases, and for some, such as lung cancer, bronchitis and emphysema, it is the main cause.According to a WHO report four million people die yearly from tobacco-related diseases, that is one death every eight seconds. Tobacco is significantlybecoming a greater cause of death and disability than any other single cause.Another reason is that more and more young people are under 18 years old who smoke cigarette have been blinded by the deceit of tobacconists. Tobacco among adolescents remains stubbornly persistent. Smoking among adolescents rose in the 1990s in several developed countries, such as China,Vietnam and Thailand . While new markets are being opened by the tobacco industry actions, old markets have not been closed. Tobacco is a global threat.Last but not the least reason is the increase in cigarette smuggling. Becauseof tobacco smuggling, the legal retailing and distribution systems are badlyaffected, and faced with increased lawlessness and heavy tax losses. This behavior severely affects the economy. In conclusion, the tobacco should be considered illegal. Perhaps a pack ofcigarettes is less harmful than another drug, but tobacco is actually thebiggest killer of all the drugs.雅思考试写作范文6travelling to a different culture can be an overwhelming, indeed, even an intimidating is very easy for misunderstandings to occur, and tourists are often deterred from places of cultural interest through fear of offending the indigenous would argue,it is up to the locals to accomodate visitors by speaking their language, serving their cuisine, and generally making them 'at home'.without doing this, local perple can be considered as unfriendly and viewed with suspicion by they are dissuaded from staying, which is ultimately detrimental to the local community,as the tourists take their spending-money with them.the counterview argues that acting naturally does not necessarily equate with being a local person wishes to live their life as his or her ancestors have done for centuries then visitors should show respect and allow them to do fact, many would argue that immersing one's self in a different culture is vital in order to truly appreciate is gained bytravelling, potentially, thousands of miles to experience the same language, food and culture that could have been found a few miles down the road from one's is a waste ofmoney, nothing is learned from the experience, and the memories saved will be less vivid. this is the point of view i it is vital for many countries' economies to welcome tourists,it does not have to imitate them so as to encourage their travellers have the right mind-set and show respect, all they need to do is to let the locals carry out their day-to-day lives to gain many insights into the this way, visitor and host can mutually benefit each other, through an increased income, and an enriching experience,respectively.雅思考试写作范文7Recent years, because traffic is convenient day-by-day, people have a more chance to travel around the world. The plane can make us reach any corner of the earth in a short time. Some people think visitors to others countries should imitated local custom and behaviors. Some people disagree; they think the host country should welcome culture different. As the a famous saying goes: Do as they do at Rome. The knowledge of local custom can help outside person adapt to the new environment rapidly. Moreover, each place has the own unique culture, may keep in touch more ideology and culture through the local folkways and customs. For instance, a Chinese people came to Britain, he can imitate British life style. Inthis way, He can understand British habit more thoroughly, thus, make himself live a more comfortable life in Britain. On the other hand, the outside thought has a lot of positive influence on local culture too. For example, the outside thought could bring the new theory and inject vigor into local culture. The exchanges of outside thought and traditional culture can help people to find out about the culture of other areas and countries.Making a general survey of human history, it is a positive trend that the nationality has been merging all the time. So, we should not only propagate local culture for the outside people but also study outside culture and custom. Some people even argue that teacher will not be important in classroom any more. Is this reasonable? Personal speaking, I oppose holding such a ridiculous conclusion. In the first place, the feature of teaching defines teachers as an essential part in education. It is well known that teaching is a process of mutual-communication: firstly, teachersimpart/initiate knowledge or ideas to students, then students should promptly transfer their feedback to teachers, moreover, teachers will give students the final interpretation according to their specific requirement. Besides, teachers also can (teach students in accordance of their aptitude). In contrast, what computers can do is merely to display materials which havealready stored in their EMS memory or mechanically execute operator’s commands. We actually can not image what our education will being if computers substitute teachers totally. As to another reason, it seems that teacher’s role as a supervis or is more and more overt. Computer is indeed a controversy, it not only can be an efficient education assistant, but also can become an addiction which includes too much violent and (pornographic propaganda). Youngsters do not mature fully in psychology, therefore, without teachers' supervision, many children would spend hours playing computer games or surfing unhealthy websites, which are regarded as a waste of valuable time and intelligence, instead of trying to have a good command of knowledge and skills. We never deny that computers are absolutely an available education implements, furthermore, the combination of teacher and computer technology will greatly improve our education quality. However, from all of the grounds of argument mentioned above, we can safely draw a conclusion that teacher will not be replaced by computer in the classroom. 雅思考试写作范文10Which element between nature and nurture plays the major role in children’s personality and development is always a controversial problem. Of course, which you prefer depends on your own experience, life style and emotional concern. Here, I would like to illustrate my point of view about it.Admittedly, different nature determines people have distinguished starting points in their lifetime. To beginning, i n light of medical research, a person’s blood type has considerable influence to his character. General speaking, for example, a person whose blood type is A means that his personality is amiable and tender probably. Besides, the physical condition, even a ppearance may influence a person’s development. Statistics shows that beautiful people are more confident than others, because they do not need to worry about the prejudice from public. Obviously, some parts of our personality have been decided when we born.On the other hand, although nature is important during the course of shaping personality, we cannot ignore another essential element, nurture. There are many factors which affect the development of children, both parental support and education being vital influence. It is reported that the kid whose parents are divorced is more likely has psychological troubles than those with a harmonious family. By contrast, as we all know, good education will positively cultivate a person’s personality and improve his self-restraint in a big way.In summary, from what has been discussed above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that partly because of different nature, partly because of different nurture, people have their unique personality.雅思考试写作范文11The computer is widely used in education and some people think teachers are not playing an important role in the classroom. To what extend do you agree or disagree? With more and more extensive use of computers in education, some people claim that the importance attached to teachers has been jeopardized. Therefore, computers will replaceteachers in the classroom. However, it seems quite clear to me that learning from teachers is the most important way that cannot be substituted for students.Naturally, some people maintain that computer should instead of the old way of education. They hold that the strong function of the computer offers a new mode of education, which is more interesting, more vivid and more acceptable by children. The students will not face to the serious teachers and calm classes any more, which are replaced by a brand-new world offered by the Internet. In addition, this can decrease the investment on the foundational education and save the human resources and material resources. As an assistant, computers do help teachers with their work, but they can never replace the important role of a real teacher. The main functions of any computer are storage and calculation. It cannot think on its own anyway. All the teaching data stored in computers are the essence of teaching experience generalized by many teachers during their work. Hence, to assist education, what a computer can do is just to repeat the contents summarized by real teachers. In addition, each student has different talents and different defects, and accordingly, they may come across various problems during their study. Computer programmer designing the software, however, cannot predict these problems. Therefore, a single computer can never solve these problems without a teacher’s guidanceFurthermore, if the significance of teacher has been weakened, the number of teachers may be decreased, that is to say, many teachers may be laid-off. If such a case comes to reality, series of social problems will break out, such as the drop of working opportunity which will surely make the burden of whole society become heavier and heavier. In conclusion, although computer-aided-education has spread widely, teachers still play s crucial part in the classroom, which cannot and will not be replaced by computer.雅思考试写作范文12In this IT age, computers are widely used in the classroom in order to enrich the methods of teaching. This phenomenon gives some the illusion that the thing teaching students is no longer the teacher but a computer. Personally, I disagree with this opinion. As another machines, computer doesn’t enable to control itself. Though computers are capable of learning from their mistakes and improving on their performance, they need details instructions from human being in order to be able to operate. They can never, as it were lead independent lives, no mention teaching students. In case a computer lacks the control of a teacher, there is no difference between a computer and waste. Not only this, but computers, unlike a teacher, can’t solve a variety of new problems. Everything is developing in today’s society, including education. For example, a student suddenly asks a creative question that the computer isn’t programmed for, it can do nothing, while teacher can explain clearly though abundant teaching experience.Last but not least, the computer can’t communicate with students from emotion. Such as an eyesight or gesture of teacher can transfer his or her idea and feeling to students. In this way, students can feel more human touch in the class. In comparison, the computer is too dry and dusty to understand. All in all, no matter how nice a computer is, it can’t take the place of teacher. Of course, I don’t mean that computer is useless. In contrary, I believe it will become the most powerful assistants to teacher in further.雅思考试写作范文13Computer, the most exciting and significant invention in 20 century, will reshape our lives and our world. As a result, some people proclaim that computers should be involved into our classroom, and replace the roles of human teachers. However, I cannot agree with their point of view.Admittedly, as the useful tools, computers can become the optimum assistants for human teachers in the classroom. To beginning, vivid pictures shown on screen can motivate students’ interest and curiosity dramatically. Moreover, the combination of computers and Internet can provide children the abundant information. Although computers enjoy considerable merits, they cannot compare with human teachers for two main reasons. Among countless factors which influence my inclination, there is a most conspicuous one: computers are not as qualified as human teachers in academic fields. As we all know, students can get the final result of a mathematic question under the help of computers, however, they are still confused on the whole computing process. By contrast, our human teachers’ performance is much better in those cases. They not only can teach students how to analyze and compute the question, but also can remind them what are the possible errors that they may meet. Thus, human teachers are more adequate than computers in academic aspect. The second advantage of human teachers is they can guide students to deal with some psychological problems that they meet in schools. In China, sometimes, teachers even burden many responsibilities that students’ parents have. For example, as for the student with rebellious spirit, the important duty for teachers is to prevent the student from campus violence, even crime. Obviously, computers cannot do that.In summary, from what has been discussed above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that the positions of human teachers are unshakable, and computers cannot take the places of them.。

To what extent do you agree ordisagree with this statement?Of course it goes without saying that prevention is better than cure. Thatis why, in recent years, there has been a growing body of opinion in favorof putting more resources into health education and preventive measures. The argument is that ignorance of, for example, basic hygiene or thedangers of an unhealthy diet or lifestyle needs to be combated by special nationwide publicity campaigns, as well as long-term health education.Obviously, there is a strong human argument for catching any medical condition as early as possible. There is also an economic argument fordoing so. Statistics demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of treating a condition in the early stages, rather than delaying until more expensiveand prolonged treatment is necessary. Then, there are social or economiccosts, perhaps in terms of loss of earnings for the family concerned of unemployed benefit paid by the state. So far so good, but the difficulties start when we try to define what the “proportion” of the budget should be, particularly if the funds willbe “diverted from treatment”. Decisions on exa ctly how much of the totalhealth budget should be spent in this way are not a matter for thenon-specialist, but should be made on the basis of an accepted health service model. This is the point at which real problems occur----the formulation of the model. How do we accurately measure which health education campaigns are effective in both medical and financial terms? How do we agree about the medical efficacy of various screening programs, for example, when the medical establishment itself does not agree? A very rigorous process of evaluation is called for, so that we can make informed decisions.3-2 When a country develops its technology, the traditional skills and ways of life die out. It is pointless to try and keep them alive. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?Overall, I disagree with the opinion expressed. I would like to begin by pointing out that traditional skills and ways of life are not automatically of one country, but of a culture or community. In many ways, the history of civilization is the history of technology: from the discovery of fire to the invention of the wheel to the development of the Internet, we have been moving on from previous ways of doing things. Some technologies, such as weapons of mass destruction, are of negative impact. Others, such as medical advances, positively help people to live better or longer, and so very much help traditional ways of life. Surely, few people would seek to preserve such traditions as living in caves!Interestingly, technology can positively contribute to the keeping alive of traditional skills and ways of life. For example, the populations of some islands are too small to have normal schools. Rather than breaking up families by sending children to the mainland, education authorities have been able to use the Internet to deliver schooling online. In addition, the Internet, and modern refrigeration techniques, are being used to keep alive the traditional skills of producing salmon; it can now be ordered from, and delivered to, anywhere in the world. In conclusion, without suggesting that all technology is necessarily good,I think it is by no means “pointless”, in any way, to try to keep traditions alive with technology. We should not ignore technology, because it can be our friend and support our way of life.6-GB Using a computer everyday can have more negative than positive effects on young children. Do you agree or disagree?I tend to agree that young children can be negatively affected by too much time spent on the computer everyday. This is partly because sitting in front of a screen for too long can be damaging to both the eyes and the physical posture of a young child, regardless of what they are using the computer for. However, the main concern is about the type of computer activities that attract children. These are often electronic games that tend to be very intense and rather violent. The player is usually the “hero” of the game and too much exposure can encourage children to be self-centered and insensitive to others.Even when children use a computer for other purposes, such as getting information or emailing friends, it is no substitute for human interaction. Spending time with other children and sharing non-virtual experience is an important part of a child’s development that cannot be provided by a computer. In spite of this, the obvious benefits of computer skills for young children cannot be denied. Their adult world will be changing constantly in terms of technology and the Internet is the key to all the knowledge and information available in the world today. Therefore, it is important that children learn at an early age to use the equipment enthusiastically and with confidence as they will need these skills throughout their studies and working lives.I think the main point is to make sure that young children do not overuse computers. Parents must ensure that their children learn to enjoy otherkinds of activity and not simply sit at home, learning to live in a virtual world.5-2 In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.It is quite common these days for young people in many countries to have a break from studying after graduating from high school. The trend is not restricted to rich students who have the money to travel, but is also evident among poorer students who choose to work and become economically independent for a period of time. The reason for this trend may involve the recognition that a young adult who passes directly from school to university is rather restricted in terms of general knowledge and experience of the world. By contrast, those who have spent some time earning a living or travelling to other places, have a broader view of life and better personal resources to draw on. They tend to be more independent, which is a very important factor in academic study and research, as well as giving them an advantage in terms of coping with the challenges of student life. However, there are certainly dangers in taking time off at that important age. Young adults may end up never returning to their studies or finding it difficult to readapt to an academic environment. They may think that it is better to continue in a particular job, or to do something completely different from a university course. But overall, I think this is less likely today, when academic qualifications are essential for getting a reasonable career. My view is that young people should be encouraged to broaden their horizons. That is the best way for them to get a clear perspective of what they are hoping to do with their lives and why. Students with such a perspective are usually the most effective and motivated ones and taking a year offmay be the best way to gain this.4-GB Some people believe that children should be allowed to stay at home and play until they are six or seven years old. Others believe that it is important for young children to go to school as soon as possible. What do you think are the advantages of attending school from a young age?In many places today, children start primary school at around the age of six or seven. However, because it is more likely now that both parents work, there is little opportunity for children to stay in their own home up to that age. Instead, they will probably go to a nursery school when they are much younger. While some people think this may be dam aging to a child’s development, or to a child’s relationshi p with his or her parents, in fact there are many advantages to having school experience at a young age.Firstly, a child will learn to interact with a lot of different people and some children learn to communicate very early because of this. They are generally more confident and independent than children who stay at home with their parents and who are not used to strangers or new situations. Such children find their first day at school at the age of six very frightening and this may have a negative effect on how they learn.Another advantage of going to school at an early age is that children develop faster socially. They make friends and learn how to get on with other children of a similar age. This is often not possible at home because they are the only child, or because their brothers or sisters are older or younger. So overall, I believe that, attending school from a young age is good for most children. They still spend plenty of time at home with their parents, so they can benefit from both environments.6-2 Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. As a result of constant media attention, sports professionals in my country have become stars and celebrities, and those at the top are paid huge salaries. Just like movie stars, they live extravagant lifestyles with huge houses and cars. Many people find their rewards unfair, especially when comparing these super salaries with those of top surgeons or research scientists, or even leading politicians who have the responsibility of governing the country. However, sports salaries are not determined by considering the contribution to society a person makes, or the level of responsibility he or she holds. Instead, they reflect the public popularity of sports in general and the level of public support that successful stars can generate. So the notion of ‘fairness’ is not the issue. Those who feel that sports stars’ salaries are justified might argue that the number of professionals with real talent is very few, and the money is a recognition of the skills and dedication a person needs to be successful. Competition is constant and a player is tested every time they perform in their relative short career. The pressure from the media is intense and there is little privacy out of the spotlight. So all of these factors may justify the huge earnings.Personally, I think that the amount of money such sports stars make is more justified than the huge earnings of movie stars, but at the same time, it indicates that our society places more value on sport that on more essential professions and achievements.6-4 Some people prefer to spend their lives doing the same things and avoiding change. Others, however, think that change is always a good thing. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.Over the last half century the pace of change in the life of human beings has increased beyond our wildest expectations. This has been driven by technological and scientific breakthroughs that are changing the whole way we view the world on an almost daily basis. This means that change is not always a personal option, but an inescapable fact of life, and we need to constantly adapt to keep pace with it.Those people who believe they have achieved some security by doing the same, familiar things are living in denial. Even when people believe they are resisting change themselves, they cannot stop the world around them from changing. Sooner or later, they will find that the familiar jobs no longer exist, or that the “safe” patterns of behavio r are no longer appropriate. However, reaching the conclusion that change is inevitable is not the same as assuming that “change is always for the better”. Unfortunately, it is not always the case that new things are promoted because they have good impacts for the majority of people. A lot of innovations are made with the aim of making money for a few. This is because it is the rich and powerful people in our society who are able to impose changes (such as in working conditions or property developments) that are in their own interests. In conclusion, I would say that change can be stimulating and energizing for individuals when they pursue it themselves, but that all change, including that which is imposed on people, does not necessarily have good outcomes.3-3 In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong, while others consider it as valuable work experience important for learning and taking responsibility. What are your opinions on this? The issue of children doing paid work is a complex and sensitive one. It is difficult to say who has the right to judge whether children workingis wrong or valuable. Opinions will also differ as to learning benefits: no doubt teachers and factory owners, for example, would have varying concerns. An important consideration is the kind of work undertaken. Young children doing arduous and repetitive tasks on a factory production line, for example, are less likely to be learning than older children helping in an old people’s home. There are health and safety issues to be considered as well. It is an unfortunate fact that many employers may prefer to use the services of children simply to save money by paying them less than adults and it is this type of exploitation that should be discouraged. However, in many countries children work because their families need the additional income, no matter how small. This was certainly the case in the past in many industrialized countries, and it is very difficult to judge that it is wrong for children today to contribute to the family income in this way.Nevertheless, in better economic circumstances, few parents would choose to send their children out to full-time paid work. If leaning responsibilities and work experience are considered to be important, then children can acquire these by having light, part-time jobs or even doing tasks such as helping their parents around the family home, which are unpaid, but undoubtedly of value in children’s development.4-2 Happiness is considered very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?Happiness is very difficult to define, because it means so many different things to different people. While some people link happiness to wealth and material success, others think it lies in emotions and loving personal relationships. Yet others think that spiritual paths, rather than either the material world or relationships with people, are the only way to true happiness.Because people interpret happiness for themselves in so many differentways, it is difficult to give any definition that is true for everyone. However, if there are any different kinds of happiness for different individuals then the first step in achieving it would be to have a degree of self-knowledge. A person needs to know who he or she is before being able to know what it is that makes him or her happy.Of course, factors such as loving relationships, good health, the skills to earn a living and a peaceful environment all contribute to our happiness too. But this does not mean that people without these conditions cannot be happy.Overall, I think an ability to keep clear perspectives in life is a more essential factor in achieving happiness. By that I mean an ability to have a clear sense of what is important in our lives(the welfare of our families, the quality of our relationships, making other people happy, etc.) and what is not (a problem at work, getting annoyed about trivial things, etc.)Like self-awareness, this is also very difficult to achieve, but I think these are the two factors that may be the most important for achieving happiness.4-4 In many countries schools have severe problems with students’behavior. What do you think are the causes of this? What solutions can you suggest?Poor student behavior seems to be an increasingly widespread problem and I think that modern lifestyles are probably responsible for this.In many countries, the birth rate is decreasing so that families are smaller with fewer children. These children are often spoilt, not in terms of love and attention because working parents do not have the time for this, but in more material ways. They are allowed to have whatever they want, regardless of price, and to behave as they please. This means that the children grow up without consideration for others and without anyunderstanding of where their standard of living comes from. When they get to school age they have not learnt any self control or discipline. They have less respect for their teachers and refuse to obey school rules in the way that their parents did.Teachers continually complain about this problem and measures should be taken to combat the situation. But I think the solution to the problem lies in with the families, who need to be more aware of the future consequences of spoiling their children. If they could raise them to be considerate of others and to be social, responsible individuals, the whole community would benefit.Perhaps parenting classes are needed to help them to do this, and high quality nursery schools could be established that would support families more in terms of raising the next generation. The government should fund this kind of parental support, because this is no longer a problem for individual families, but for society as a whole.5-GB Nowadays we are producing more and more rubbish. Why do you think this happening? What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced?I think it is true that in almost every country today each household and family produces a large amount of waste every week. Most of this rubbish comes from the packaging from the things we buy, such as processed food. But even if we buy fresh food without packaging, we still produce rubbish from the plastic bags used everywhere to carry shopping home. The reason why we have so much packaging is that we consume so much more on a daily basis than families did in the past. Convenience is also very important in modern life, so we buy packaged or canned food that can be transported from long distances and stored until we need it, first in the supermarket, and then at home. However, I think the amount of waste produced is also a result of our tendency to use something once and throw it away. We forget that even the cheapest plastic bag has used up valuable resources and energy to produce. We also forget that it is a source of pollution and difficult to dispose of.I think, therefore, that governments need to raise this awareness in the general public. Children can be educated about environmental issues at school, but adults need to take action. Governments can encourage such action by putting taxes on packaging, such as plastic bags, by providing recycling services and by fining households and shops that do not attempt to recycle their waste. With the political will, such measures could really reduce the amount of rubbish we produce. Certainly nobody wants to see our resources used up and our planet poisoned by waste.5-4 Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life.Which do you consider to be the major influence?Today the way we consider human psychology and mental development is heavily influenced by the genetic sciences. We now understand the importance of inherited characteristics more than ever before. Yet we are still unable to decide whether an individual’s personality and development are more influenced by genetic factors (nature) or by the environment (nurture).Research, relating to identical twins, has highlighted how significant inherited characteristics can be for and individual’s life. But whether these characteristics are able to develop within the personality of an individual surely depends on whether the circumstances allow such adevelopment. It seems that the experiences we have in life are so unpredictable and so powerful, that they can boost or over-ride other influences, and there seems to be plenty of research findings to confirm this.My own view is that there is no one major influence in a person’s life. Instead, the traits we inherit from our parents and the situations and experiences that we encounter in life are constantly interacting. It is the interaction of the two that shapes a person’s personality and dictates how that personality develops. If this were not true, then we would be able to predict the behavior and character of a person from the moment they were born.In conclusion, I do not think that either nature of nurture is the major influence on a person, but that both have powerful effects. How these factors interact is still unknown today and they remain largely unpredictable in a person’s life.。

T e s t 1 Some people work for the same organization all their working life. As long as it is planned carefully, I feel that change is good and will ultimately benefit the employee and the employer.(281 words)Test 2One of the consequences of improved medical care is that people are living longer and life expectancy is increasing.Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages Over the past 50 years, people have become used to the idea that they will probably live longer than their grandparents did. However, a longer life is only desirable if you can look after yourself and be independent, otherwise there can be disadvantages for everyone. If you walk into a hospital in my country, you are likely to see a lot more elderly people than you did in the past. In fact, this is causing significant problems as there is a shortage of beds. Medical treatment is keeping the elderly alive, but at what cost to othersOn top of this, one of the biggest medical problems these days is dementia. Even if old people are still fit, they may not be able to look after themselves. They may have to live with their children or be cared for in a home, which can be expensive. Elderly people do not like to be a burden, but their children can feel obliged to care for them. Obviously, not all old people become ill. Those who remain healthy can enjoy ahappy old age as long as they have saved enough money. A longer life expectancy is obviously advantageous, but no one wants to live to be 100 if they only cause problems for their family and society.(308 words)Test 3Car ownership has increased so rapidly over the past thirty years that many cities in the world are now ‘one big traffic jam’.How true do you think this statement isWhat measures can governments take to discourage people from using their cars Most people would agree that car ownership has increased in recent years and is causing a range of problems, particularly in build-up areas. It is therefore necessary for governments to impose a higher tax on this kind of food.To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinionThe growth of the fast food industry has, without doubt, impacted on the eating habitsand the health of many societies around the world. In this case, why should they expect the state to pay for their treatment The tax could help fund the healthcare system. If the government chose to do this, it would only lead to greater poverty and families facing further hardship.(278words)Test 5Nowadays technology is increasingly being used to monitor what people are saying and doing (for example, through cellphone tracking and security cameras). In many cases, the people being monitored are unaware that this is happening. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantagesIn recent years, advances in technology have allowed governments, the police and privately owned companies to keep the public under constant surveillance. In many major cities and towns, security cameras are recording the movements of ordinary citizens. Whenever a cellphone is used, the call is logged, so the service provider knows exactly when and where the user made the call. Invisible satellites orbit the Earth, watching us whether we like or not. Is this, however, a development we should welcomeCertainly there are benefits. There is also a very different issue we should consider.Nowadays, many people upload personal information and photographs onto social networking sites; they often do not realize how easy it is for other people to view this information or for the site owners to use the data or photographs for their own financial gain.It seems inevitable that there will be more and more ways to monitor society in the future. However, it is our responsibility to evaluate new technology and decide whether it will do more harm than good. Surely our freedom is more valuable than technological progress(307 words)Test 6In the past, when students did a university degree, they tended to study in their own country.Nowadays, they have more opportunity to study abroad. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this developmentThe pursuit of knowledge is a concept that is valued by most cultures. If a student is presented with this opportunity, they should certainly seize it.(267 words)Test 7Some people get into debt by buying things they don’t need and can’t afford. What are the reasons for this behaviorWhat action can be taken to prevent people from having this problem Nowadays we are living in a society based on consuming. The main problem is the lack of awareness o f the serious effects that advertisement can have on people. All summed up, the chances of becoming a victim of the consum er’s society are high nowadays due to the surrounding temptations but this problem could be easily avoid by being aware of this dangers and having a rational attitude when dealing with money.(244 words)。
