Lesson 13 A Daughter's Letter
本课是北师大版《初中英语》八年级下册教材第5单元,话题为家庭生活。
本课是本单元第一课,重点是谈论童年回忆,为后面的听力和写作做铺垫。
本课的内容是一封女儿给妈妈的信件,教学设计分为两课时。
第一课时侧重文章的理解,首先通过头脑风暴激活学生已有的知识:谈论你难以忘怀的事件。
随后通过阅读,获取女儿写信的原因;以及女儿对母亲儿时的回忆:母亲和她一起做过什么;母亲对她说过什么。
最后结合自己的实际并结合本课的信息进行语言输出活动:谈论自己的母亲对自己影响,以及对母亲的回忆,并表达自己的态度。
另外本课中还会渗透间接引语的相关知识,使学生对间接引语有初步的了解。
第二课时在复习课文内容的基础上,引入本课的重点语法内容——间接引语(陈述句),通过观察和分析例句,发现并总结直接引语和间接引语的表意功能及特点,以及进行直接引语和间接引语的转化,并最终通过真实情境对他人的计划进行转述。

Ss brainstorm memorable things and memorable persons.

Step 2: Warm up
1. Ss think of the topic they talked about last period and the memories about Liu Fei’s mum.
2. Liu Fei wrote a letter to her mother and talked about her memories.
Why did she write this letter?
What did they do together?
Step 3. Reading
1. Ss can Liu Fei's letter and answer questions: (First Reading) Ø Who is the letter from? Ø Who i s the letter to? ·Ss read the letter again: (Second Reading) Find out the reason why she wrote this letter. Ø When did she wrote the letter? Ø Why did she do this?
2. Ss understand the meaning of the line:. You don't know what you've got until it's gone. Find out the detailed information about her childhood memories. ·Ss complete the table about Liu Fei's memories with the help of T's demonstration.
3. Ss read the letter for the third time: (Third Reading) Ø How was her childhood? Ø Did mum's words have a great influence on her? Ø Did your mum do the same things/ say the same words?
4. Ss try to understand the meaning of a successful life.
Step 4: Grammer:
直接引语:直接引用别人的所说的话。
1. 被引用的话放在引号内;
2. 被引用的话是原话(Original words),不做任何改动;
3. 引用的话之前用“,”或“:”;
4. 引用的话结束后,需用“.”、“!”、“?”等标点符号。
间接引语:转述别人说的话。
多以宾语从句的形式表现出来。
1. 在引述谓语:say, ask, mention, order等,和话语之间不用标点符号;
2. 有时态变化;
3. 有人称、时间、地点等变化。
