1.Show somepictures o the new words on the screen.Ask Ss to try to read these words.
2.Let the students to read the passage on page 26 to get more about Bethune.
3.Do the Exercise 1 on Page 27 and ceck answers.
4.Read the article again and complete the sentences of Exercise 2 on Page 27.
5.Work in group of 8 to find out the key words,phrases and sentences.
6.Ask students about what they have found and explain these sentences and phrases for them.
7.Do Exercise 3 on Page 27 and check the answers.

(2)With a lot of hard work,he found new ways to help people with T.B.—a disease that damages the lungs.通过辛勤努力,他找到了新的方法帮助人们对抗肺结核这种损害肺部的疾病。
句子结构:with a lot of hard work介词短语作伴随状语。
to help people with T.B.,to do不定式作ways的定语。
a disease that damages the lungs,其中that从句作disease 的后置定语。

句子结构:本句是由that引导的定语从句,that从句作tools的后置定语。
remain动词,“仍然是,保持不变”,remain in use意为“仍然在使用中”。

condition名词,“环境;条件”。

operate 动词,“动手术;做手术”,其名词为operation。
operate on sb. 给某人做手术。
without介词,后接名词或动名词。
