4·Have the children trace over half of the capital As. On the next line, they should write capital As by themselves.

·Choose a child to hold up the What’s your name ?drillcard.
·Choose two other children to stand facing the class and hold up drillcards to form the answer, My name’s Ken.
·Say the words of the question and answer as you point to each one .Have the children repeat them after you.

4.Ask them to look for familiar words in the story .
5.Have children read the story silently ,encourage them try to guess the meaning of unfamiliar words .
7.It doesn’t matter if they don’t know the words .The requirement for this part is to understand the

Step 2 Bingo
1.Photocopy a Bingo Gameboard 1 for each child(page 168)
2.The teacher calls out the different character names/worde and the children find the correct picture in
their game board.(Make sure that you call out the names/words in a random order.)
3.The children circle the word or letter(in pencil)when they hear the teacher call it out.
4.The children call out“Bingo!”each time they have circled a full column down their Bingo boards.
5.At the end of the game ,review all the vocabulary in a class drill.
Step 3 Snap game
T: Take out your small yellow flashcards.
1.Put children in pairs .have each pair mix their cards together and then spread them face down on
the table.
2.The children in each pair take turns to flip over the cards, one by one ,so that they are facing up . As soon as they see two cards with the same pictures on them ,they must call out “Snap”and say the correct English word for the picture .
2.The first child who calls out “Snap”and the correct word or letter ,keeps the two matching
cards .the children continue playing until there are no cards left on the table .The winner is the child with the most cards at the end of the game .
3.If the child calls ‘Snap !’by mistake ,for example when two cards do not match ,or when he or she
says an incorrect word ,the other player takes the pair of cards and adds them to his or her pile . Step 4 Self-assessment
Have the children this part in pairs or in groups by themselves .Children should assess themselves
according to their .own situation .they should be encourage to compare their results with and learn from each other .
1.Students work in pairs in the first activity ,practicing introducing them.
2.For the second activity, one child points to a picture, the other says the name. The fifst child checks
his/her answer in the box below each picture, then they switch their roles, Children can also do this part individually.
3.For the third activity, children circle letters they have learned in this unit.

Hold up your mask for Lulu. Say,“ This is Lulu.”
Have the children say Lulu. Repeat this for Danny.
Repeat several times, and have the children say the names.
4,Model the dialog
Hold up your mask Mocky and say,“ This is Mocky.” Have the children repeat the sentence after you.
Repeat the procedure for all the other masks(Ann, Ken, Mocky, UncleBooky, Lulu, and Danny).
Holp up each of the masks in turn, and say, “This is(Lulu)”.
Hold up the Mocky mask. Say,“This isn,t Ken. This is Mocky.” Say the sentences again, and have the children repeat them.
Repeat the same procedure, using the Ann mask, and substituting another name. Repeat the procedure using the remaining masks.
Hold up a mask but say nothing. Have the children make a sentence of their own.

Divide the class into four groups. Have the children put their name flashcards in a pile in the center of each group.
Ask one child to give the top flashcard to the child wearing the matching name tag.
Have the group say, “Hello! What, s your name?”
The child then holds up the flashcard and says,“My name,s(Angela).”
Repeat the procedure until all the flashcards are used.

Have the children put their Ann ,Ken, Uncle Book, Danny, and Lulu masks on their desks. Hold up your Lulu mask. Say to the children,“Hold up your Lulu mask.”

Then say,“This isn,t Ann…”Have the children finish your sentence with “This is Lulu.”
Repeat the activity using all the character masks.

Touch a book in the classroom. Make sure all the children can see it. Say ,“A book.”Repeat the procedure for a pen.
Play the tape and touch object as you hear the words.
Have the children repeat the words as you touch each object again.
Have the children look at the pictures at the top of page16.
As you play the tape again the children touch the matching picture .Replay the tape while displaying your copy of the page. As the tape is played, point to the words one at a time.
Play the tape again without stopping. Have the children say the words along with the tape.
Put on Uncle Booky,s mask and say,“Show me a pencil.”Then put on Mocky,s mask and show out a pencil.
Repeat the step for other words.

Hold up one of the flashcards and say,“What is this?”Have the children repeat the question after you. Now elicit the correct answer(for example, This is a book).
Have the children repeat the questions and answers after you in a class drill, using all the flashcards for Lesson2.
Have a child touch or hold up a book, an eraser, or a pencil, etc. and say,“What is this?”Have a second child give the correct answer. Repeat the procedure so that each child has a turn at asking and answering the question.

Play the tape, Stop after the first sentence, and have the children touch the correct picture.

✧Say," Watch me write the letter E." Stand with your back to the class. Write capital letter E in the air,
using large arm movements. Ask the children to write the letter in the air with you.
Repeat for the small letter e.
✧Have the children open their books at page 20.Draw their attention to the" Trace and copy" activity.
✧Have the children trace over half of the capital Es. On the next line, they should write some capital
Es by themselves.
✧Follow, the same procedure for Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh and Ii.
✧Tell the children that they will finish tracing over the letters for homework.

Draw the children' s attention to the pictures on the bottom half of the page.
Display your copy of the page. Point to each picture in turn and say the matching word, for example, elephant.
✧Now play the tape. As the children hear each word they should point to its beginning letter.
✧Without the tape, have the children point to each picture in turn and say the beginning sound.
