Friends Are Important
Hi, my name is Jamie and I am 10 years old. Today I want to tell you all about why friends are so important to me and why they should be important to you too!
I think friends are the best thing in the whole world. They make me happy, they make me laugh, and they are always there for me when I need them. My friends are like my second family. We look out for each other and care about each other a whole lot.
I have a bunch of really great friends that I've known since I was a little kid in kindergarten. Sarah has been my best friend since we were 5 years old and I don't know what I would do without her. We do everything together - play at recess, have sleepovers, go to the movies, you name it! Sarah is really kind, funny, and smart. She always tries her hardest in school and helps me with my homework when I get stuck. Sarah's parents
say she is a good influence on me, which I think means she's a good friend who doesn't get me into trouble.
Then there's Jake who is the goofiest kid I know. He's always cracking jokes and making me and my other friends laugh until our bellies hurt. Jake is really good at sports too so he's fun to have on my team in gym class. He never gets mad when we lose a game which I really admire about him. Jake is loyal and sticks up for me and my friends if anyone is mean to us on the playground.
My friend Emma is the most creative person I know. She's an incredible artist and is always doodling or painting these amazing pictures. She makes up the most fun imaginary games for us to play at recess like we're explorers or warriors. Emma helps me see the world in a different, more artistic way. Her positive energy and imagination never fail to brighten my day.
Michael is the brainiac of our friend group but in a good way - he's not a know-it-all or anything. Michael helps me understand difficult math concepts and lets me copy his homework if I get stuck (but don't tell my teacher that!). Michael is super smart but doesn't make me feel dumb for not getting things right away. He's patient and encouraging when tutoring me.
Those are just a few of my closest friends that I've had for years, but I feel so lucky to have a big circle of friends at school. We all come from different backgrounds and families but it doesn't matter - we're all united through our friendship. Having friends who love and accept me for who I am boosts my
self-confidence and self-esteem. I never feel judged by my friends.
My friends and I love having fun together but we're also there for each other through the tough times too. Like when my dog Buddy passed away last year, my friends rallied around me and comforted me when I was sad. They gave me hugs, made me laughs with silly jokes when I was crying, and reminded me of all the amazing memories I had with Buddy. Having supportive friends who let me express my emotions freely was so important during such a difficult time.
When I'm going through personal struggles or family issues, I know I can open up to my friends without being judged or criticized. They are a great sounding board when I need to vent, complain, or get advice. My friends have also pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and try new experiences I'd typically be too shy or scared to do alone like joining the school play or sleepaway camp.
Friendship is a two-way street though. Just like my friends are there for me, I always try my best to be a good friend in return. I keep their secrets when they tell me something in confidence. I compliment them and hype them up when they're feeling down on themselves. If they're having a hard time with schoolwork, a sport, or a relationship, I'll do whatever I can to help out and support them.
My friends and I have had our share of disagreements and arguments of course - no friendship is perfect. But what I love is that even when we do fight, we're able to talk it out, apologize, forgive each other, and move on. We never stay mad for long because our friendship is more important than any petty disagreement. At the end of the day, we have each other's backs no matter what.
As I get older, I know friendships will come and go. Some of my childhood friends may drift apart as we grow up and change. But I am certain that the lessons I've learned from my friends now will help me make new friends and be a good friend myself in the future. My friends have taught me to be kind, loyal, accepting, trustworthy, forgiving, and to celebrate each other's differences.
I don't know where I'd be without my amazing friends by my side. They make my life happier, richer, and more fun. My friends help shape who I am as a person. We learn from each other, lean on each other, and experience so much together. True friends are irreplaceable - they are the family you choose. I feel so grateful to have such a strong friend group in my life and I'll always value the importance of friendship.

The Importance of Having Good Friends
Friends are really important to me. I can't imagine life without my best buddies! We've been friends since we were tiny kids and they mean the world to me. Sure, my family loves me, but friends are different. They are the people you choose to have in your life.
My friends and I do everything together. We play at recess every day, running around the playground and cracking jokes. Sometimes we play tag, other times we pretend to be superheroes or make up crazy games. We're always laughing and having fun. Recess feels so short when you're with your best friends!
After school, we love going to each other's houses to hang out. We take turns whose house we go to each day. My friends' parents are really nice and give us snacks. Then we head up to the bedroom or basement to play with toys, video games, or make silly videos on our tablets. We build forts out of blankets and pillows and pretend we're adventurers. We crack up telling jokes and being totally goofy. Time flies when we're joking around and being silly.
Sometimes we have arguments or get mad at each other for a little while. But then we miss each other and make up quickly. True friends don't stay mad forever. We say sorry, give each other a hug, and are buddies again in no time. Having friends you can forgive easily is so important.
My friends and I share secrets and tell each other everything. We can be totally honest and know our friends won't judge us or make fun of us. I feel like I can really be myself around them without worrying what they'll think. We all kind of understand each other in a way our families don't quite get sometimes.
When I'm having a bad day or feeling sad, my friends always cheer me up. They're great at making me laugh with their silly jokes and games. And they really listen if I'm upset about something. My friends give great advice and remind me not to
worry too much about stuff. They're like a second family who have my back no matter what.
Last summer was so much fun because we got to spend every day together. We had big adventures riding our bikes around the neighborhood and going to the pool or park. We even went camping in a backyard tent one weekend! Every evening we'd have sleepovers and play games or watch movies until we fell asleep. Summer days felt like they'd never end when I was with my besties.
As we get older, I know our friendships will probably change a little. We might not spend as much time together if we have different interests or activities. But I hope my closest friends and I can stay tight through middle school, high school, and forever! That's the dream - to have your childhood besties as your friends for life.
Some kids get caught up in drama or bullying. But not my group - we all care about each other too much for that nonsense. We go out of our way to be kind to each other and make sure no one feels left out. If one of us is having a hard time, we're always there to support them. That's what real friends do.
I'm so grateful to have such amazing friends who make me smile every single day. They really do make my life fun and so
much better. I don't know what I'd do without them! Sure, we'll probably grow up and get jobs or families of our own someday. But I really believe my friends and I will find a way to make time for each other no matter what. Lifelong friendship is one of the most precious gifts you can have. I feel so lucky!

My Best Friends
Friendship is one of the most important things in life. At least, that's what I think. I'm only in 5th grade, but I've already learned that having good friends can make you happier, help you through tough times, and create amazing memories that you'll never forget.
I have two really great best friends - Jake and Emma. We've known each other since kindergarten and we do everything together. On the playground, we always play the same games like tag, kickball, or just hanging out and talking. In class, our desks are right next to each other so we can help each other out if we get stuck on our work. And after school, we take the bus to one of our houses to have playdates.
Jake lives just down the street from me, so that's where we hang out the most. His parents are really nice and always have
snacks and drinks ready for when we come over. In Jake's basement, we have awesome times playing video games, putting together Lego sets, or coming up with imaginary adventures to act out. One of our favorite games is pirates - we use old sheets and towels to make pirate outfits and ship sails, and Jake's dad's old walking stick becomes our telescope for spotting enemy ships on the high seas!
Emma's house is across town, but her mom or dad usually picks us up on Saturdays so we can spend the whole day together. Emma has a huge backyard with a trampoline, swingset, and a cool treehouse that her dad built. We jump and climb and run around for hours, only stopping to eat the delicious picnic lunches Emma's mom packs for us. After we're tired out from playing outside, we head inside to Emma's room to do arts and crafts. Emma is an amazing artist and she shows Jake and me how to draw or paint different animals, landscapes, or make fun little sculptures out of clay or pipe cleaners.
Having Jake and Emma as my besties is the best. But it's not just about the fun activities and playdates - it's also about the little things, like always having someone to sit with at lunch, or getting cheered up when you're feeling sad. Like this one time last year when I was really upset because I didn't make the soccer
team. Jake and Emma came over after school and we just hung out, watching movies and eating pizza. They didn't have to do anything special, just being my friends and hanging out like normal was enough to make me feel better about not making the team. It helped me realize that soccer wasn't everything, and that I was lucky to have such good friends who cared about me.
Another time, we had gotten into a silly argument about which superhero was the best. We didn't talk to each other for a whole week! It was the longest we had ever gone without hanging out, and I realized how much I missed just goofy little moments, like joking around with Jake or watching Emma doodle pictures. After a few days, I knew the argument was dumb and not worth losing my best friends over. So I apologized, and they apologized, and we all agreed that all superheroes were awesome in their own ways. From that fight, we learned how important it is to say sorry and make up quickly - because you never know what could happen, and you don't want to take your friends for granted.
There have been so many fun times and important lessons that Jake, Emma, and I have experienced together. We've grown up side-by-side, and I know our friendship is strong enough to last through elementary school, middle school, high school, and
forever. We've promised to be friends until the end! Even though we're still kids, Jake and Emma are two of the most important people in my life. I don't know what I'd do without them.
Friends are kind of like a second family. You love them no matter what, you look out for each other, and you go through good times and bad times together. Having people you can count on and be yourself around is so valuable. Jake and Emma never judge me for being silly or weird, they accept me for who I am. We can share our hopes, dreams, fears, and secrets with each other and know that our friendship is safe, solid, and forever. Real friends are hard to find, so when you do find your best friends, you have to make sure to be a great friend back to them and never take that friendship for granted.
I'm so lucky and grateful to have Jake and Emma as my two best friends. We've already made so many amazing memories, and I know there are so many more adventures to come as we keep growing up together. Friends might just seem like the kids you goof around with at recess, but they're also the most important people in your life who will be by your side through everything. I can't wait to see where life takes us, but I know wherever Jake, Emma, and I end up, we'll be taking our million
memories and our million more memories still to come right along with us, forever best friends.。
