What’s a “gift”? If you look it up in the dictionary, you’ll see that it’s another word for a present. For example, “They brought him some gifts.” However, if you’re German, “gift” means

This word “gift”is an example of a false friend ---- a word that looks the same in two languages, but which actually has two different meanings. The English word “coin” refers to a piece of money made of metal. For example, “I had a few coins in my pocket.” But the French word “coin” means “corner”.
The English word “library”is a place where you can go to borrow books. For example, “I borrowed six books from the library.” But the Spanish word “libreria” refers to a bookshop (where you buy books).
The English word “actually” means “in fact”. For example, “Actually I’m not Italian, I’m form American.” But the Spanish word “actualmente” means “currently” or “at the moment”.
Finally, the English word “embarrassed” means “ashamed”. For example, “They looked a bit embarrassed.” However, the Spanish term “embarazada” means “pregnant” (with a child).

Speaking from my past experience, it is very difficult to find good friends that you can trust but once you have found them, they are worth keeping forever! Therefore, I think friendship is the most important relationship that anybody could have.
The qualities I look for in a friend are a good sense of humor but sensitivity when it matters. Also that friend would have to be strong-minded and highly spirited. I think that these qualities are the key qualities to look for in a good friend.
Even the strongest friends can still have arguments, although usually about more serious topics, rather than the usual teenage childish arguments. Some matters can seriously affect a friendship. If one of your friends started experimenting with harmful and dangerous drugs, what would you do ? A good friend would try to help as much as possible, whereas a bad example of a friend would simply shrug(耸肩) and turn a blind eye.
Not only the bad things affect friendship ---- good activities do too. Such as bonding with one another, not just by going out on a night with them but by spending quality time with them and talking to each other, which indicates a good ability to communicate. This is a key aspect of a good friendship.
Good friends do not always have to be in the same age group as you. I have a good friend and she is 47 years old and I am 16.
Unfortunately, some people lose contact with their friends as they grow older, which is a sad way to lose a good friend.
I think friendship is one of the most important things in life because if you have no friends you will have no happiness.

Three women fight ing for peace and women’s rights won the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, sharing the $1.5 million award. Since 1901, 92 Nobel Peace Prizes have been awarded.
The Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize Committee is honoring women with the prize for the first time in seven years. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf , 72, is the first and only elected female president in Africa. Sirleaf has helped Liberia recover from a 14-year civil war that ended in 2003. Sirleaf has been an inspiration to women and young girls in Liberia. She is currently running for re-election. "This gives me a stronger commitment to work for peace," Sirleaf told reporters.
Leymah Gbowee, 39, led a women’s movement that protested(抗议) the use of child soldiers in Liberia’s civil war. The Nobel committee says she is being honored for organizing women “to bring an end to the long war in Liberia, and to ensure women’s participation in elections.” “The world used to remember Liberia for child soldiers but they now remember our country for the white T-shirt women,” Gbowee said referring to the women in white T-shirts who demanded an end to Liberia’s civil war.
Tavakkul Karman is the first Arab woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize. He young mother is a journalist from Yemen in the Middle East. Karman has long been an advocate for human rights and freedom of expression in her country. Sometimes in February, my teacher told us about the city speech contest, its topic
was “People who have overcome difficulties in their lives”. I thought of my grandma
would be my perfect topic. Then I carefully prepared for contest. A couple of weeks
later, after the first round I was choosing to be one of the seven finalists! The final was
held soon. I was the sixth to present the speech. How a relief when I finished it ! After
