Jinan Foreign Language School, formerly known as Jinan No.

31 Middle School, was founded in 1962 with 12 classes of 650 students and 72 staff members. The school is located in the third road of Jianguo Xiaojing, covering an area of 4735 square meters, with a building area of 2597 square meters. The library has a collection of 16,000 volumes, and the experimental instruments are worth more than 31,000 yuan. Principal Chen Bingyi, Party branch secretary Xing Zhu.

At the beginning of 1983, it was rebuilt into Jinan Seventh Vocational Middle School, with general machinery and documents and archives majors. At the beginning of 1985, it was renamed Jinan Fourth Vocational Secondary Professional School, with majors of document archives, library management and Foreign trade. By 1990, it had graduated 909 students.

In the spring of 1989, it was rebuilt into Jinan Foreign Language School, offering English, Japanese and Russian languages.

In 1990, there were 564 students in 8 classes (191 students in 4 vocational classes), 110 faculty members and 11 senior teachers. The SCHOOL HAS SPEECH CLASSROOM, FILM AND TELEVISION PROJECTION ROOM, AUDIO-VISUAL TEACHING ROOM, COMPUTER ROOM,

FOREIGN language AUDIO-VISUAL READING ROOM, FOREIGN LANGUAGE typing room and so on. The library and the Chinese and Foreign Language Reference Room have a collection of over 40,000 volumes. All kinds of teaching instruments and audio-visual equipment are worth more than 340,000 yuan. The school covers an area of 6,845 square meters.

At the beginning of June 2011, it moved to No. 23 of Jinan Normal Road (formerly Jinan Normal School).

From 2018 to 2019, the high school and Middle school will be relocated to the new Huashan campus.
