I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding the recent purchase of a study guide for postgraduate entrance examination English preparation. The book, titled "Mastering English for Postgraduate Studies," has not lived up to its promise of providing comprehensive and accurate content.
Firstly, I found numerous typographical errors throughout the text, which not only distracts from the learning experience but also raises concerns about the credibility of the information presented. For instance, on page 15, the word
'effect' is mistakenly printed as 'affect,' which could lead to confusion for students who are striving to enhance their vocabulary.
Secondly, the exercises provided at the end of each chapter are not aligned with the topics covered. This inconsistency has made the practice sessions less valuable, as they do not reinforce the concepts learned in the preceding sections.
Moreover, the promised supplementary online resources were either inaccessible or outdated. The QR code provided for additional practice tests led to a webpage that is no longer active, which is quite disappointing considering the book's recent publication date.
Lastly, I would like to point out that the customer service experience was far from satisfactory. When I contacted the publisher regarding these issues, I received a generic response that did not address my concerns, and no further assistance was offered.
I am requesting a refund for the purchase of this study guide, as it has failed to meet the standards I expected. I hope
that you will take my feedback into consideration and make
the necessary improvements to ensure future editions are of higher quality.
