1. Teaching Important Points:
1) The vocabulary and useful expressions.

—It's raining/ windy.

Use the target language to ask and answer questions about the weather and ask and answer questions about other people’s ongoing activities.

Step 1. Warming-up
1. Greet the Ss and check the homework.
2. Watch a video program about the weather.
(Purpose:Let students get familiar with new words and sentence patterns by watching videos and stimulate their interest in learning)
Step 2. Presentation
1. Show some pictures of the weather in 1a
(1)Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is.
(2)Ss learn the new words and expressions with the help of the pictures.(Lead Ss to spell the new words)
(3)Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the right. Ask the Ss to match the words with pictures.
(4)Check the answers.
(Purpose:By looking at the pictures of the weather, let the students further familiar with the weather and stimulate interest)
2. Ask Ss "How's the weather today?"
3. Ss guess and answer the question.
(Purpose:Use the actual weather at that time to introduce sentence patterns“How’s the weather?”, introduce topics with real life, and introduce new knowledge with old knowledge, which is consistent with the development of students' cognitive ability)
4.Listening:
(1). Now let's look at the city names in the box in 1b. Please read after me.
Ss read the cities after the teacher.
(2).Now, We’ll hear four conversations. Listen carefully, point out each city in the picture as it comes upon the tape. Play the recording a second time. Ask Ss to
write the name of the city in the picture of its weather.
(3). Check the answers.
(4). Listen to the recording again and follow it, imitating the voice tone. (Purpose:Cultivate students' English listening and communication ability.)
Step 3.Practice
1.Pair work
(1). Tell the Ss: Imagine you are in one of the places in the picture in 1a. Talk
about the weather with your friend on the phone.
(2). Make a model with a student like this in 1c:
T: Hi! How's the weather in Beijing?
S1: It's sunny.
(3)Ss work in pairs. Ask and answer about the weather in the cities.
2. Role-play
(1). Ask Ss to read the conversation and answer the questions:
①What's Steve doing?
②What's Rick's brother doing?
Ss read the conversations and answer the questions. Then check the answers together.
(2). Let Ss role-play the conversation in pairs in 2d.
(Purpose:Let students combine listening and speaking to strengthen language goals.)4.Exercise

Step 2 . Presentation
1.Learn new words
(1). Show some pictures on the big screen. Present the new words.

(Purpose: To exercise students' ability to distinguish and match)
3.Careful reading.
Group work: Let Ss read the postcards by themselves and work in groups to solve some problems or teacher for help if they have any difficulties.

work 用来表示仪器、设备的“运行、工作”若是用于否定结构如isn’t work,则表示某一件物品“不工作了”或“坏掉了”
write to 表示“写信给某人”

be just right for "正好合适”,后接名词,代词或动名词形式。
