Unit 4 Starting out & Understanding ideas名师教学设计
●课时内容：
本课时的话题是网上交友的益处和弊端，包括Starting out和Understanding ideas两部分。

Starting out是导入部分，通过一首小诗让学生们思考真正的友谊是什么样子的，应该带给我们怎样的心理体验。

Understanding ideas部分，通过对比的方式，比较了过去、现在交友方式的变化，并从正反两个方面论述了网上交友的利弊。

题材紧跟时代，学生们有探讨的意愿，能充分激发学生的思考，引起共鸣。

●课时目标：
1.认知并灵活运用本课时的重点词汇：familiar, adventure, prefer, deliver, advance, significantly, maintain, wi-fi, click, digital, enable, unusual, site, tend, update, acquire, goods, prove, illustrate, diagram, lose track of, thanks to, throw the baby out with the bathwater 等。

2.通过设置不同层次的问题，锻炼和提升学生的速读、精读水平以及阅读理解能力。

学会语言迁移、转换和原文定位，提高自己分析问题、解决问题的能力。

学会在阅读的基础上，经过自己的语言加工、概括提炼，能复述文章的大概内容。

3.通过文章蕴含的哲理，培养学生正确交友、谨慎择友、待人为善的良好的思维品质和价值取向。

学习、掌握本课的重点词汇和短语，通过拓展延伸词汇的用法，构建自己的词汇树，形成自己的知识体系。

难点：
通过解决阅读阶段所设置的题目，学会分析问题、解决问题，找准问题的关键。

●教学准备：
教师准备：
准备好该部分内容的PPT以及音频素材；设置不同层次、不同呈现方式的阅读理解题目。

多维度拓展语言点，充分利用图片，激发学生兴趣。

学生准备：
1.在网上搜索交友软件，并理性分析、看待这个问题。

2.列举网上交友的几点益处和弊端，并思考在网上交友，应该怎样做，注意哪些事情。

列出表格，用简短的英语处理问题。

教学过程：
Step I Starting out
1.Ask some questions:
Who is your best friend?
What can you do for each other?
Who can you turn to for help when you need it?
2. Ask students to listen and read the poem on Page37, and then asks the questions:
What is the poem about?
Who would you sent this poem to and why?
3. Ask students to use some adjectives to describe their best friend.
4. Ask students to watch the video and answer the questions:
Which poem is mentioned in the video?
What idea does the poem mainly express?
What other poems do you know on the same topic?
Step II Understanding ideas
1. Pre-reading.
(1) Ask the questions:
How do you make new friends?
How do you keep in touch with your friends?
(2) Ask students to think, discuss in groups and collect answers.
(3) Look at the questions about friendship and tick your answers. Ask students to finish the Activity I on P38.
2. Fast reading.
(1) Read the passage and find out the author's opinions about online friendship.
(2) Ask students to find the words that confused the author in each paragraph.

【设计意图】该部分用表格的形式将文章要点列出来，理清了文章脉络。

本文阐述了两个方面的内容，过去和现在交友方式的变化以及网上交友的好处和弊端。

这对学生分析间题、概括总结、提炼主题很有帮助。

5.Post-reading Ask students to finish Activity 3 and Activity 4on Page 40.
（1）Activity3是选择写作意图，只有通读全文，理清脉络的基础上，才能看清作者真正的写作意图。

因此通读全文，找出段落的主题句，关注段落之间的过渡，归纳出文章的主要内容，从而推出作者的写作意图。

（2）Activity4采用了比较的方式概括了过去、现在交友方式的变化以及网上交友的优缺点。

通过对比，文章层次更清晰，锻炼了学生的概括能力和表达能力。

通过填写7个空，加深对文章的理解。

Step Ⅲ Sum up
1.回顾、总结本节课的重点词汇、短语和句型。

2.给出关键词让学生复述文章。

3.让学生分析、讨论：网上交友应该注意什么？哪些信息不应该透露给对方？有什么危害？通过讨论、思考，让学生更理性地认识网络，理性交友。

【设计意图】该部分以不同的形式回顾了所学的词汇短语，以及文章梗概，提高学生的应用能力和表达水平让学生在学习知识的同时，树立网络安全意识，慎重交友对学生今后的生活有很强的指导意义。

1.Sum up what they learned in class and take notes.
