As a Chinese, I have always been fascinated by the beauty and intricacy of Chinese knots. Growing up, I often saw my grandmother and mother making Chinese knots as decorations for our home or as gifts for relatives and friends. I remember being amazed at how they could create such beautiful designs with just a single rope.
Chinese knots are not only decorative, but also have symbolic meanings. For example, the "double happiness" knot is often used in weddings to represent the union of two people in marriage. The "coin knot" is believed to bring
good fortune and wealth. The "mystic knot" is a symbol of longevity and good luck.
I myself have also learned how to make Chinese knots, and it has become a hobby of mine. I enjoy the process of choosing the right rope, deciding on a pattern, and then carefully tying each knot. It requires patience and precision, but the end result is always rewarding.
