Lesson Plan for Kindergarten Class: Introducing Fruits and Animals
Theme: Fruits and Animals
Grade Level: Kindergarten (Middle Class)
Subject: English
Lesson Objectives:
Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:
1. Identify different fruits and animals in English
2. Say the names of the fruits and animals correctly
3. Use the English vocabulary words in simple sentences
Materials Needed:
1. Pictures of various fruits and animals
2. Flashcards with the English names of the fruits and animals
3. Worksheets with matching activities
4. Coloring materials for activity time
Introduction (10 Minutes)
1. Greeting: “Good morning, boys and girls. How are you today?”
2. Transition: “Today, we are going to learn about differe nt fruits and animals. Are you excited?”
3. Presentation: Show the pictures of different fruits and animals and ask the students if they know their names.
4. Vocabulary Building: Introduce the English names of each of the fruits and animals and ask the students to repeat after you.
Lesson Development (30 Minutes)
1. Read and repeat: Read the English names of the fruits and animals with the students and have them repeat after you.
2. Flashcards: Use the flashcards to review the English names of the fruits and animals.
3. Matching Game: Distribute the matching worksheets and have the students match each fruit or animal picture to its English name.
4. Practice makes perfect: Engage the students in short conversations, asking questions such as “What is your fav orite fruit?” or “What animal do you see in the zoo?”.
5. Phonics practice: For each fruit or animal, have the students practice sounding out the first letter of the English word.
Conclusion (15 Minutes)
1. Reviewing: Recap what the class has learned about fruits and animals in English.
2. Activity time: Distribute the coloring materials and allow the students to color pictures of fruits and animals while circling the corresponding English name.
3. Closing: “Great job, class! You all did an amazing job learning about different fruits and animals in English today! See you again next time.”
Assessment:
1. The teacher will observe if the students are able to identify and name different fruits and animals in English.
2. The teacher will evaluate if the students are able to use the English vocabulary words in simple sentences.
3. The matching worksheet and the coloring activity will serve as
a formative assessment.
Modifications and Accommodations:
1. Students who have difficulty matching pictures can be assisted by an adult.
2. Students with shorter attention span can have shorter
activities or breaks in between the lesson.
