2. It might sound funny, but having a certain routine in the morning or evening will help you to grow personally, with your workouts and also with your job and life. Why is
________? The humans adapt pretty well to routines and that makes us more
efficient, meaning that you can save a lot of time and that your body also can relax better and faster. This is what I've learnt from my own morning routines.
I for myself always prepare my first meal for the following day every evening. I take
300ml of water, 30 grams of chia seeds, and a couple oats(燕麦)and leave them in a plastic container in my fridge overnight. All I have to do in the morning is to add some
fresh berries.
I also have my cup and my coffee capsule ready, and the first thing when I come out off the bathroom is to turn on the coffee machine while I'm getting dressed. Getting dressed is a good point. I have already prepared my clothes for work. So I don't get stuck in my decision whether I want to wear the white, black, purple or blue blouse.
After I'm dressed, my coffee is ready and while I'm quickly getting my hair and make﹣up done, I'll drink my coffee. I don't need usually longer than 30﹣40 minutes in the morning
to get ready and leave the house. This helps me firstly to sleep a little bit longer and secondly not to be in a rush and be calm for the day.
So, my friends, try to apply some certain routines to your day and you'll see how your mind and your body will adapt to them and you have more energy to focus on important things.

C They help her figure out problems faster.
D They improve her ability to handle situations better..
(4)What is the author's purpose in writing the text?________
A To help people to focus on important things.
B To introduce how to adapt to routines in life.
C To encourage people to have routines in life.

3. Plastic is used to make a large number of products we use every day, such as drink and food containers, trash bags and grocery bags, cups and children's toys, and bottles for everything from mouthwash and shampoo to glass cleaner and dishwashing liquid. And
that's not even counting all the plastic that goes into furniture, appliances, computers, and automobiles.
As the use of plastic has increased over the years, it's become a large part of America's
solid waste﹣growing from less than 1 percent in 1960 to more than 13 percent in
2017. As an example of how and why plastic waste is increasing, the International Bottled Water Association reports that the US consumed 9. 67 billion gallons of bottled water in 2017, compared to 9.1 billion gallons the year before. The United States is the world's leading consumer of bottled water. A good first step in reducing plastic waste is switching
to a reusable water bottle.
Recycling plastic reduces the amount of energy and resources (资源) needed to create
plastic. Research shows that a bottle of water requires about 2, 000 times as much energy to produce as the same amount of tap water. Recycling plastic products also keeps them out of landfills(垃圾填埋)and allows the plastic to be reused in making new products. Recycling 1 ton of plastic saves 7. 4 cubic yards of landfill space. And let's face it, a lot of plastic ends up directly in the environment, breaking down into tiny
pieces ? polluting our soil and water.
Today, 80 percent of Americans have easy access to a plastic recycling program. A universal numbering system for plastic types makes it even easier. According to the American Plastics Council, more than 1, 800 US businesses handle plastic waste. In addition, over 200, 000 grocery stores now serve as recycling collection sites for plastic waste.
(1)What message does the first paragraph mainly intend to convey?________
A Plastic products are quite common.
B Plastic is widely used in our daily
life. C What functions plastic has. D Why humans make use of plastic..
(2)According to paragraph 2,________.
A plastic waste is on the rise in America
B Americans prefer bottled water to tap water
C plastic waste is the leading type of waste in America
D using reusable water bottles doesn't help reduce plastic waste.
(3)What benefit does recycling plastic mainly bring?________
A It helps cut down on pollution.
B It helps to make soil more rich.
C It makes plastic easily broken down.
D It produces new energy and resources..
(4)What do the figures listed in the last paragraph suggest?________
A Americans suffer a lot from plastic waste.
B Americans are good at recycling plastic.
C Recycling plastic is convenient in the US.
D Recycling plastic brings great profits in the US.
4. Angel Garcia Crespo is a computer engineer at Carlos III University of Madrid in Spain. His group has invented a new way for deaf﹣blind people to "watch" TV. The idea for the technology grew out of previous work by his group. The team had already worked on making audiovisual(视听的) materials accessible to people with either vision or hearing disabilities. But the group wanted to help people with both challenges. So they asked some deaf﹣blind people what would help.
In addition to relying on their sense of touch to communicate? deaf﹣blind people can also get and send information with a Braille line. The Braille system uses patterns of raised dots to stand for letters and numbers. A Braille line is an electronic machine with a changeable Braille display. Dots rise up or drop down based on the information sent to the machine. Now the new system changes TV signals to data a Braille line can use. "The key to the system is the possibility of using subtitles(字幕) to collect TV information, " Garcia Crespo explains. "Subtitles travel with the image(影像) and the audio in electromagnetic waves we don't see. But an electronic system can keep those waves. "
First, a computer program, or app, pulls out the subtitles and visual descriptions from the
broadcast signal. The system then combines the information and changes both into data
for Braille.
Now another app gets to work, which sends the data out to people's Braille lines on demand. "This is done in real time, in less than a second, " Garcia Crespo says. This lets a deaf﹣blind person "watch" TV as it's broadcast. The system will work with various Braille lines, as long as there's a bluetooth connection available. Now, the system is only used in Europe, and it should soon be available in the US.
(1)What inspired Garcia Crespo's group to work on the new technology?________
A Deaf﹣blind people's poor life.
B Their pity on the disabled people.
C The challenges they face in work.
D Their group's previous research..
(2)Why can the electronic system collect TV information?________
A It can combine all kinds of broadcast signals.
B It can keep the waves with subtitles traveling.
C It can work together with a variety of Braille lines.
D It can pull out the subtitles and visual descriptions..
(3)What does the author think of the future of the new technology?________
A Challenging.
B Bright.
C Rewarding.
D Hopeless..
(4)What should be a suitable title for the text?________
A New Technology Is Improving Deaf﹣blind People's Life
