PWP教学过程设计
Step1 Pre-reading (5mins)
Task1 Lead-in (individual work)
Present two proverbs:
A friend in need is a friend indeed.
A life without a friend is a life without a sun.
Ask the students:
Why do you need friend? Make a list of reasons why friends are important to you .
Does a friend always have to be a person? What else can be your friend?
Task2 Predicting (individual work)
Predict the main idea of the story according to the pictures on the text.
T: What do you think the passage is about?
The students give their own answer.
设计意图:Predicting有助于学生更好地理解将要阅读的文章,同时也培养学生阅读预测的能力。
Step2 While-reading (25mins)
1. Fast reading
Task3 Read the text quickly and join the correct parts of the sentences.
1 Anne kept a diary because A she couldn’t meet her friend.
2 She felt very lonely because B Jews were caught by Nazis and killed.
3 They had to hide because C she could tell everything to it
4 Anne named her diary Kitty because D she wanted it to be her best friend.
设计意图:快速阅读能培养学生捕捉文章主要信息的能力。
2. Careful reading
Task4 Guessing words (pair work)
First ask the students to read the text again and the guess the meaning of the words in bold in it according to the context.
Go through outdoors at dusk entirely curtains dusty on purpose
设计意图:Guessing words 有助于学生消除生词障碍。
Task5 Scanning
Ask the student scan the text and answer the following questions.
1.Who is Anne’s best friend?
2.Why did Anne no longer just like looking at nature out of the window?
3.How did Anne feel about nature before she and her family hid away?
设计意图:Scanning有助于学生从整体上把握文章内容,了解文章结构。
Step3 Post reading (5mins)
Task 6 Comprehending
Ask the student to do the following exercises ad quickly as possible with their books closed. answer the following questions.
1. From the first paragraph, we can see that
2. What is the mean idea of the text?
3. With a partner brainstorm some adjectives to describe her feelings. Make a list of at least five.
4. Share your list another pair. Choose from the two lists.
