1).There are four seasons in a year.
这是there be结构的句子,there be表示“某处有某物”.
eg:There is a cat in the tree.树上有一只猫。

2).How is the weather? 天气如何?
这是询问天气状况的句型。

还可以说What is the weather like? 答语是”It’s+表示天气状况的形容词”,代词it 此处用来指代天气。

例如:
——How is the weather this evening? 今天晚上的天气怎幺样?
——It’s warm and rainy.温暖有雨。

3).What day is it today?
人称单词it常常用在英文的句子中来代表时间、距离、天气、自然现象,或用在句中作形式主语或宾语,如:
It is ten o'clock now. (代时间)
It is far from here to the airport. (代距离)
It is very hot.(代天气)
It is very difficult to learn English well. (作形式主语)
We found it very difficult to answer the question. (作形式宾语)

【辨析】at,on与in
(1)at表示在某一时刻,时间范围最小。

My father goes to work at 7:00 every day.我父亲每天7点去上班。

(2)on比at范围大,指在具体桌一天或具体某一天的上午、下午或晚上。

He was born on June 1.他出生于6月1日。

(3)in表示的范围最大,指在某年或某月等不具体的一个时间。

We often go swimming in July.在7月份我们经常去游泳。

【助记歌诀】年、月、周前要用in,具体日子却要禁。

具体几号要用on,上午、下午需用in。

说到某日上下午,用on换in要牢记。

探究一:What’s the date? 今天几号?
本句用法有什么需要注意呢?
本句意为“今天几号?”,是用来询问日期的表达法。

其答语常用“It is+月+ 日”’的结构。

--What’s the date today? 今天几号?
--It’s August 29.8月29号。

【例1】--What’s the()oday?
--It’s June 20.

【解析】答语为“六月二十日”,由此可知问句是对日期进行提问,故要用date. 探究二:It’s January 17.今天一月十七号。

本句中有关日期的表述,你有多少了解呢?
日期的写法有几种,如9月10日可写作:
September 10,September 10th,
l0 September,l0th September.
10th of September,September the 10th。

但读时日期要读序数词,且前面常读出定冠词the。

探究三:January is the first month of a year.
first 为序数词,意为“第一”。

序数词一般是以与之相应的基数词词尾加-th构成。

例如:fourth, tenth, eleventh. 但是,以下的基数词变为序数词时,要特别注意。

①基数词one, two, three 的序数词分别是first, second, third需要特殊记忆,
因为它们与基数词在词形上没有什么联系。

②以ve结尾的词,要把ve变成f再加th。

例如:five---fifth, twelve---twelfth.
③以e结尾的词,去掉e再加th。

例如:nine----ninth
④以t结尾的词,直接加h。

例如:eight----eighth
