Unit 8 Chinese New Year（The 1st period）
一、上课内容：
小学《英语》六上Unit 8 Chinese New Year （Story time）
二、教学目标：
1.学生能在情境中掌握单词和词组：fireworks, a lion dance, red packets, get, Hong Kong, next week, food, tangyuan, Chinese New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year’s Day
2.学生能在情境中理解be going to的用法，并能尝试运用be going to 表达“计划”和“准备”。

3. 通过本节课的学习，学生能够有步骤地阅读和理解正确理解story time内容，并用正确的语音语调朗读。

4.学生能够了解更多的春节文化及其英文表达，并尝试着表达。

5.学生能够感知了解英文电子邮件的格式。

三、教学重点：

Step 1:Greeting:
T: Hello, boys and girls. S: Hello, Shirley.
T: Today is Christmas. Merry Christmas! Boys and girls! Ss: Merry Christmas.
T: Let’s say Merry Christmas to all the teachers here. Ss: Merry Christmas! Step 2 Pre-reading:
1. Let’s guess:
T: Boys and girls, look! Father Christmas is coming to join us. And he brings some presents for us! What are th ey? Let’s guess!
听声音猜出fireworks和firecrackers
根据描述猜出red packets和couplets
They are red. Your parents put money in them and give them to you. They are red too. Chinese people stick them on the two sides of the door. T: Look at these presents. What holiday comes to your mind?

T: Yes. Today we’re going to learn Unit8 Chinese New Year.

Step 3 While-reading:
1. Scan and answer:
T: Today we are going to learn a story about an e-mail. First, let’s scan and answer. Who is the email from? Who is the email to? And what is the email about? I’ll give you 10 seconds. Please read it quickly and find the answer. (PPT呈现：课文email, 10秒计时条，tips)
Ss scan.
T: Who is the email to? Ss: The email is to Su Hai.
T: How do you know? （引导学生关注to和Dear Su Hai）
T: Who is the email from? Ss: It’s from Anna.
T: How do you know?(引导学生关注Love，Anna)

T: Boys and girls, who is Anna? Where is she from? Look! (地图) Anna is from Hong Kong. She is far away from Su Hai. They write emails. They are e-friends.

T: Here “subject” means the title of this email.

2. Read and answer:
T: Why did Anna write this email? First, let’s look at the beginning. Read and answer.
Ss: It’s going to be Chinese New Year next week.
Teach: next week
T: Chinese New Year is getting near. Anna is very excited. She wanted to share her excitement and happiness with Su Hai.
3. Jigsaw reading
T: Anna is so excited. What are Anna and her family going to do at Chinese New Year? Look, there are four paragraphs. Today let’s have a Jigsaw reading.
l Let’s read in groups. (四人一组学习拿到的那部分，并完成阅读任务) T: Every group got one part of them. First, let’s read in groups and complete the reading tasks.
l Let’s share in class (在班级里分享你们小组学习的那部分)
T: Just now, you read about your part of the email in groups. Now, let’s share.
T: When we share, we should teach the new words, tell the others what Ann a’s family are going to do, and stick the pictures on the blackboard. The other students should listen very carefully, if you don’t understand, please ask questions.

T: Is Anna talking about the things in the past or in the future?

T: So Anna is talking about her plans about Chinese New Year.
When we talk about our plans, we can use be going to.
5. Read the last paragraph
T: Anna shares her plan with Su Hai. She wants to know about Su Hai’s plan. So, at last, she asked a question. Can you read?
6. Open your books.

T: When we read long sentences, we should pay attention to the pauses.
用Su Hai gets an email from her e-friend Anna in Hong Kong.做例子。

T: Let’s listen, draw the marks and repeat.
b. Let’s read it together.
Step 4 Post reading:
1. T: Now, we know much about Anna’s plan and about Chinese New Year in Hong Kong. Actually, different places have different customs about Chinese New Year. Let’s know more about Chinese New Year.
文字稿：Chinese New Year is the most important holiday inChina. We also call it Spring Festival. People have big dinners with family. In south ofChina, people make and eat tangyuan. But in north ofChina, tangyuan is more popular. Many Chinese people paste couplets, reversed Fu and paper-cutting. In Guangzhou and Hong Kong, people also go to flower fairs
and buy flowers. They believe flowers can bring good luck. There are many temple fairs and lantern shows in different cities or towns. People go home and get together with family. They feel love and share happiness. Spring Festival is a holiday full of love and joy.
2. Share our plans
T: Boys and girls, What are you going to do at Chinese New Year？Let’s think and share in groups.
T: Boys and girls, let’s tell Father Christmas your plans. He will tell your plans to the children in western countries.

3. Share the Chinese New Year greetings
T: You got some red packets this class. Let’s open them and share.
