中国过年习俗英语作文初三
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the most important traditional festival in China. It is a time for family reunion, celebration, and paying respects to ancestors. As a third-year student, I would like to share with you some of the customs and traditions that my family and I observe during this festive season.
First and foremost, the most important tradition of Chinese New Year is the reunion dinner. This is a time when family members from all over the country come together to enjoy a sumptuous feast. As the eldest son in my family, I have the responsibility of preparing the dinner table and making sure that everything is in order. This includes setting out the traditional dishes such as fish, dumplings, and rice cakes, as well as making sure that there are enough red decorations to bring good luck and prosperity to the family.
Another important tradition that my family observes is
the giving of red envelopes. These envelopes, known as "hongbao," are filled with money and given to children and unmarried adults as a symbol of good luck and prosperity. As a child, I always looked forward to receiving these red envelopes, and now that I am older, I take great pleasure in giving them to my younger relatives.
In addition to these traditions, my family also observes the custom of visiting relatives and friends during the New Year. This is a time when we pay our respects to our elders and exchange good wishes for the coming year. It is also a time for catching up with old friends and making new ones.
One of the most exciting parts of Chinese New Year is the fireworks and firecrackers. These are set off to scare away evil spirits and bring good luck and fortune to the family. As a child, I always loved watching the colorful displays of fireworks, and now that I am older, I still enjoy the spectacle.
Finally, no Chinese New Year would be complete without
the traditional lion and dragon dances. These performances are meant to bring good luck and prosperity to the community and are a sight to behold. As a member of my school's lion dance team, I take great pride in participating in these performances and bringing joy to the community.
In conclusion, Chinese New Year is a time for family, tradition, and celebration. It is a time when we come together to honor our ancestors, exchange good wishes, and welcome the coming year. I feel fortunate to be part of such a rich and vibrant culture, and I look forward to celebrating Chinese New Year with my family and friends for many years to come.。
