My Favorite Music Club
Music is the best thing ever! I love singing, dancing, and playing instruments. That's why I'm so happy to be a part of the Sunnyville Elementary Music Club. It's my absolute favorite activity. Let me tell you all about it!
We meet every Wednesday after school in the music room. Our club has around 20 members from grades 3 to 5. Mrs. Robertson, the music teacher, is in charge. She's really nice and makes everything fun.
When we arrive, we start by warming up our voices with some silly songs and tongue twisters. Things like "She sells seashells by the seashore" or just making all kinds of weird noises and sounds. It's hilarious and gets everyone laughing. Then we do some stretches so our bodies are ready to move around.
The best part is when we learn new songs! Mrs. Robertson teaches us all different styles - pop songs, folk tunes, even opera sometimes. We'll go over the lyrics and melody first. I love seeing the notes jump up and down on the staff. After we've practiced the vocals, we'll add movements and choreography. We get to make up cool dance moves to go with the music. Everyone has great ideas and we put them all together.
Sometimes we separate into small groups to work on harmonies and rounds. Like one group sings "Row, row, row your boat" while another group joins in halfway through. It's tricky but sounds awesome when we get it right. We also take turns playing instruments like xylophones, drums, maracas, or whatever Mrs. Robertson has for us that day.
Every few months, we have a Music Club Concert for our families. We've performed at the school auditorium, the community center, even one time at the park! We make posters and signs, dress up in fun costumes, and put on a whole show with lighting and everything. We each get a solo part or line to say in between songs. I get so nervous but also really excited. The applause at the end makes all the hard work worth it.
In between learning songs and rehearsing, we play games related to music too. Like name that tune, where you have to
guess a popular song after hearing just a few notes. Or we have to keep a rhythm going around the circle with body percussion - clapping, stomping, snapping. IfIf someone messes up, you're out! We also watch music videos, learn about famous singers and composers from history, and talk about our favorite artists or instruments.
More than anything though, I just love being with my friends and getting to be creative together. We come up with new lyrics to songs about our inside jokes or whatever's going on at school that week. We choreograph crazy dance moves that make no sense but have us rolling on the floor laughing. And we cheer each other on when someone tackles a hard solo or nails a complicated rhythm.
Music Club is the highlight of my week and my favorite place to be. I feel so lucky that my school has it and that I get to be involved. It's helping me learn so much about music and build up my confidence to perform. But most importantly, it's an incredible amount of fun. If you've never tried being part of a music group before, I highly recommend it! Who knows, you might just discover a new passion like I did.

My Favorite Music Club
Music is the best thing ever! I love singing, playing instruments, and just listening to all kinds of music. That's why I'm so happy my school has a music club that meets once a week after classes. The music club is definitely my favorite activity!
Every Monday right after the final bell rings, I race to the music room as fast as I can. I don't want to be late and miss anything! Mrs. Robertson, our super nice music teacher, is always there waiting for us with a big smile. She lets us grab instruments from the cupboards or just find a spot on the colorful mats if we want to sing or listen.
There are usually around 15 to 20 kids who come each week. Some of my closest friends like Amy and Miguel are in the club too. But I've also made new friends with kids from other classes that I never really knew before. Isn't it cool how music can bring people together like that?
Once everyone arrives, Mrs. Robertson starts us off with some warmup songs and rhythmic clapping games. Then we spend time learning new songs and rhythms. Sometimes Mrs. Robertson has themed meetings around certain holidays or seasons. Last fall we learned spooky songs for Halloween. In December, we practiced Christmas carols to perform for our
families. My favorite one was "Jingle Bells" because I got to play the sleigh bells!
But we don't just sing together. Mrs. Robertson teaches us about all kinds of instruments too. We've learned about trumpets, violins, drums, guitars, and more. She shows us how they make sounds and lets us try playing them ourselves. I really want to start taking guitar lessons because I loved strumming the guitar when we learned about it. The drums were super fun too – I have a hard time sitting still when there's a good beat!
One of the highlights is when we put on little performances for each other. Some kids sing solos or duets. Others play an instrument they've been practicing. I got so nervous the first time I had to go in front of everyone, but now I love the chance to show off what I can do! It makes me feel so proud and confident.
After the performances, we spend some time doing musical games and activities. My favorite is the one where Mrs. Robertson plays a song and we have to guess things about it like what instruments we hear or what emotions the music is expressing. I'm getting pretty good at that game! We also do things like musical chairs, freeze dance competitions, and
songwriting challenges. Sometimes we just have open dance parties where we can move around and be as silly as we want.
I've learned so much from being part of the music club this year. Did you know there are musical scales and chords that create harmonies? Or that tempo refers to the speed of a song? I didn't know any of that before, but now I feel like a musical expert! More importantly, I've discovered how much I truly love music in all its forms.
Some kids get to play sports after school, but the music club is my team. We might not be athletes, but we have just as much team spirit! We encourage and support each other. We work together to make beautiful music. And we become better musicians and friends along the way. Win or lose, we always have fun!
That's why I don't care if people think the music club is uncool. In fact, I think my friends in the club are the coolest kids in the whole school! We're brave enough to get up on stage and share our voices and talents. We appreciate artistry and creativity. We have fun and we're not afraid to be ourselves. What could be cooler than that?
I already can't wait for next Monday's music club to start. I hope I get to keep being part of it for a really, really long time.
Maybe someday I'll even get to be the teacher, helping other kids discover their love of music too! No matter what though, music will ALWAYS be an important part of my life. Thanks to the music club, I've found my passion and my people. And that truly hits all the right notes!

My Favorite Music Club
Music is the best thing ever! I just love singing, dancing, and playing instruments. That's why my favorite place is the music club at school. It's where I get to do all the musical things I love with my friends. Let me tell you all about it!
The music room itself is already so much fun. It's big and colorful, with posters of famous musicians and bands all over the walls. There are these cool sound-proofing panels too that make the room feel nice and cozy when we sing and play. Plus, the room is just packed with every kind of instrument you can imagine!
We've got guitars, drums, keyboards, violins, trumpets, and so many more. My favorite is probably the big piano right in the middle of the room. I love sitting down at that beautiful black piano and plinking out tunes. Sometimes I make up my own silly
songs! Other times I'll play along as everyone else sings or plays their instruments.
Speaking of everyone else, that's really the best part - my music club friends! Carlo is a total rock star on the drums. He can do amazingly fast rolls and fills. Tanya has the most beautiful singing voice and always leads us in warm-up scales at the start. Miguel is a guitar genius who can shred like there's no tomorrow. We all just have such a blast jamming together.
Our club leader is Mr. Parker and he's the coolest teacher ever. He's really goofy and funny, but also an incredible musician himself. He plays basically every instrument under the sun! Sometimes he'll hop around from instrument to instrument during our jam sessions, going from guitar to piano to trumpet. It's awesome.
At every meeting, we spend some time learning about different styles of music from all over the world. We've covered classical music, rock, jazz, folk music, you name it. We analyze the different instruments used, the rhythms and melodies, the singers and composers. It's like a fun world music class!
Then we get to try playing those styles ourselves. We'll split into small groups and each group will perform a different genre. We take turns performing for each other and giving friendly
feedback. It's so cool to hear the unique sounds of K-pop, reggae, bluegrass, and more all in the same room!
But my absolute favorite part is when we just have a freestyle jam session at the end. We'll throw out a silly theme, like "farm animals" or "epic space adventure" and everyone has to improvise songs about that theme. We sing, we play instruments, we dance around like maniacs. It's creative, it's spontaneous, it's absolute chaos! Those jam sessions always have me laughing so hard my stomach hurts.
Sometimes we even get to perform our jam session songs or other pieces we've prepared at school events like pep rallies or parent nights. We'll make up goofy costumes and choreographed dance moves for the songs. It's both exhilarating and a little terrifying to be up on stage, but so much fun in the end!
I honestly can't imagine my life without the music club. It's where I get to unleash my creativity and passion for music with my awesome friends. We learn so much about different cultures and genres. We get to try out every instrument we want. We sing and dance with total abandon. We just have an incredible time!
If you're a kid who loves music even half as much as I do, then I can't recommend joining your school's music club enough.
You'll make great friends, discover amazing new music, and have an absolute blast. Just don't join my club - that one's mine! Haha, just kidding. Spread that music love far and wide, my friends!

My Favorite Music Club
Music is the best thing in the world! I love singing, playing instruments, and just listening to all kinds of music. That's why the music club at my school is my absolute favorite. It's the highlight of my week and I look forward to it every time.
In the music club, we get to do all sorts of fun activities related to music. Sometimes we learn new songs and sing together as a group. Our teacher, Mr. Roberts, is really good at teaching us the lyrics and melodies. He's also super patient when we mess up or can't quite get the timing right. We start by breaking the song down into smaller parts, and then we put it all together. It's like solving a big musical puzzle!
Other times, we get to play instruments like drums, xylophones, and even recorders. I'm not very good at the recorder yet, but I'm getting better at it every week. The drums are my favorite – I love making lots of noise and keeping the beat.
Mr. Roberts has these really cool drums from different countries and cultures, so we get to learn about those too.
But my favorite part of music club is when we get to make our own music. Mr. Roberts divides us into small groups, and each group has to come up with their own little song or rhythm. We can use any instruments we want, and we can make the song about whatever we like. Last time, my group made a funny song about our lunches in the cafeteria. We used the xylophone to make different food sounds, like crunchy apples and squishy sandwiches.
After we've practiced our group songs, we get to perform them for the rest of the club. I get a little bit nervous when it's our turn, but it's also really exciting. Everyone claps and cheers for each other, and Mr. Roberts always has nice things to say about our creativity and teamwork. Sometimes he'll even join in and improvise some extra beats or melodies over our songs. He's like a musical wizard!
On special occasions, the music club puts on big performances for our families and the whole school. We get to dress up in costumes and everything. Last winter, we did a whole show based on different holiday songs from around the world. I
got to play a reindeer in the Rudolph song, and I had antlers and a red nose and everything. It was so much fun!
Music club is definitely the best part of my week at school. I've made lots of new friends there, and we've created so many wonderful memories together. Mr. Roberts says that music brings people together and allows us to express ourselves in unique ways. I totally agree. In music club, we get to be creative, collaborative, and just let loose and have fun. We learn about different cultures too, and how music is universal no matter where you're from.
I can't wait to see what other musical adventures we'll have this year. Maybe we'll get to make our own instruments out of recycled materials. Or maybe we'll learn about music from outer space! One thing is for sure – as long as I'm in the music club, every week will be filled with rhythm, melodies, and tons of joy and laughter. Music is magic, and the music club is where that magic happens.

My Favorite Music Club
Music is the best thing ever! I love singing, dancing, and playing instruments. That's why my favorite place is the Music
Club at school. It's where I get to do all the musical things I love with my friends. Let me tell you all about it!
The Music Club meets every Wednesday after school in the music room. Mrs. Roberts is the teacher who runs it. She's really nice and fun. She plays the piano and guitar and is an amazing singer. Sometimes she performs little concerts for us which is so cool!
When we get to the club, we start by warming up our voices. Mrs. Roberts has us do silly things like making animal noises or singing up and down scales. It feels kind of goofy at first but it helps get our voices ready to sing. Then we learn new songs or practice ones we already know.
We sing all kinds of different songs - pop songs, classic rock, Disney songs, songs in other languages like Spanish and French. My favorite songs to sing are the ones from movies like "Let It Go" from Frozen. I know all the words and I can hit the really high notes. It's so fun to sing loud and dramatic!
After we've practiced singing for a while, we often play musical games. One game I love is when Mrs. Roberts plays notes on the piano and we have to sing back the notes she played. Whoever can repeat the longest pattern wins. I'm getting better at it every week!
Sometimes instead of singing, we learn how to play instruments like xylophones, drums, maracas, or little hand bells. We take turns and make up rhythms and little songs. It's like making music out of nothing! We also learn about reading music notes and keeping the beat. It's tricky but satisfying when you get it right.
My absolute favorite part of Music Club is when we put on little performances for each other. We get into small groups and one group plans an act while the others watch. Then we switch. People sing solos, act out scenes from musicals, choreograph dances, or play instrumental pieces. One time, me and my best friends Ava and Emma dressed up like the Spice Girls and
lip-synced to "Wannabe." We danced around and got everybody clapping along. It was hilariously fun!
At the end, we always have snack time. Mrs. Roberts' mom makes the best cookies and we get to eat them while talking about music. We discuss our favorite singers and bands, the concerts we've been to, or instruments we want to learn next. I really want to learn how to play the drums!
I honestly can't pick a favorite part of Music Club because I love it all. Getting to spend an hour every week surrounded by singing, performing, and making musical magic is the best. Not
only do I get to explore my passion for music, but I get to do it alongside my friends who love it just as much as I do. The Music Club is a place of joy, creativity, and working together as a team. It's where the music inside me comes alive!
I'm so grateful my parents signed me up for Music Club. It's become one of the highlights of my week that I look forward to all the time. Doing music with friends is endlessly fun! No matter what's going on, being at the club always puts me in a great mood. When I'm there, surrounded by melodies and harmonies, I feel completely happy. Music has enriched my life in countless ways, and the club has allowed me to take that love of music and let it shine. Crank up the tunes - the Music Club is where it's at!

My Favorite Music Club
Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I absolutely love music and singing and my favorite activity is going to the after-school music club at my elementary school. I look forward to it every single week!
The music club meets on Wednesdays right after classes end for the day. We all gather in the music room, which is probably my favorite place in the whole school. It's pretty big with lots of
open space in the middle for activities. But what I love most are all the fun musical instruments and decorations all around.
There are rows of xylophones and metallophones of different sizes along one wall. I'm not very good at playing them yet, but I practice the simple songs we learn like "Hot Cross Buns" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb." My favorite is the big bass xylophone - I love the deep, low tones it makes!
Along another wall are all these smaller instruments like hand drums, maracas, tambourines, and rain sticks. We use those a lot when we play rhythm games and learn about keeping the beat steady. Sometimes we even make up our own rhythms!
But I think the coolest things in the room are the huge speaker screens on the front wall. That's how we learn new songs - the lyrics come up on those big screens to follow along. We can even make song requests and music videos will play! I've requested "Old Town Road" like a million times.
There are probably about 20 kids total in the music club, a mix of boys and girls from grades 1 through 5. We have one teacher who leads everything - her name is Ms. Harris and she's really nice and funny. She's definitely my favorite teacher for sure.
Every music club session starts the same way. We all fetch a green speckled dot from the basket as we arrive. Those are like our admission tickets. Then we get settled on the colorful rugs in the middle of the room and Ms. Harris calls us to order by ringing her crystal singing bowl. The sound is so pure and calming.
First, we always do a fun warmup activity to energize us and get our voices ready. My favorite is the tongue twisters - it's hard but hilarious trying to say things like "fresh french fries" or "rendering red raspberries" over and over really fast without messing up! We also do silly stretches and breathing exercises which feel kind of ridiculous but really do help my voice.
After warmups, we spend some time learning new songs and rhythms. Last month, we learned how to sing "Lean On Me" which is such a great song. We also did an activity where we learned to play basic beats on the drums following Ms. Harris' lead. Sometimes we even learn simple dances to go along with songs which is always fun but hard to get all the moves right.
My absolute favorite part of every music club session is the games and activities towards the end. Ms. Harris is so creative and comes up with the most fun stuff! One time, we played a singing hot potato game where we had to keep passing a plush
microphone around the circle while singing - whoever was holding it when the music stopped was out. Another time, we did musical chairs, but instead of just walking in a circle we had to skip, gallop, and do other silly movements in between sitting down.
I also love the days when we just have open jam sessions for
a while. We can play any of the instruments we want and perform whatever songs or rhythms we make up ourselves. Sometimes a few of us will get in a circle and take turns improvising vocal parts to see if we can create a whole new song together. It's pure creative fun!
A few times per year, the music club gets to perform what we've been practicing for the whole school. We get to dress up and everything! I was so nervous the first time I had to perform in front of an audience, but it was actually really fun. Afterwards, all my friends and classmates were coming up to me saying how great our club sounded. It felt amazing and made me so proud.
Before we know it, Ms. Harris is ringing the singing bowl again to bring us back together. We finish by playing one last game, like having a mini beat-boxing contest or challenge to see who can make the funniest sound effects with just their voices. At the very end, we place our green dot admission tickets back
into the basket and wait to be dismissed one by one when Ms. Harris compliments something we did great that day. I always feel so happy after music club!
On the walk home, I'll put in my headphones and keep singing to myself. Maybe pretending I'm in a big concert or music video. In my mind, the music and joy from the club just keeps on going and going until the next week. Sometimes, my friends and I will even plan little backyard concerts or put on shows for our families at home, performing everything we learned. Music is just the best!
That's why I love the after-school music club so much. It's a place where I can just be myself, be creative, make lots of noise, and share my passion for music and singing with others who feel the same way. Ms. Harris makes it fun for everyone, no matter what level we're at. I've made so many great friends and amazing memories there already - and I still have a few more years left before middle school! I honestly can't wait to see what other cool music adventures await us in the club. Thanks for letting me share why it's my absolute favorite!。
