2019-2020年高中英语Unit5Music单元小结教学案新人教版必修2
I was very sensitive to music. Just dippinginto the music books briefly, I could sing or play well. To be honest, I always dreamt of being a famous folkactor. I was so confident that I never decreased my devotion.
I formed my first band called “Rolling Frog”. At the beginning, we r elied on performing on instruments in pubs or to passersby to earn extra money in cash. Then we wore false beards to pretend to be the musicians whom people werefamiliar with. In addition,we attachedhumorous acts to our performances and played jokes on each other. Soon, our “funny jazz” became famous and invitations to perform for broadcast stations began to e. Afterwards, we sorted outattractive music and made a record in a studio. A million or so copies were sold and we became millionaires.
It was painful that the band broke up finally. But above all, I realized my dream to be a musician.

The first visit to a foreign country that I can remember was when I was about seven years old.We lived about 5 miles away from the Canadian border(边界).My family and I went to Parc Safari,Quebec,a wonderful place that has animals and rides. We drove down a nice long road.My sister and I sat in the back of the car,and it was a hatchback(有仓门式后背的汽车) so we opened it up.I remember feeding the animals snacks we had bought for ourselves.
When we arrived, there were not monkeys because they had escaped and had not been found.I remember thinking to myself, how cool it would be to see a monkey in our backyard.
Even though the monkeys were not there it was still so much fun. When we reached the area that had camels, giraffes and other animals,I remember one of the camels reached into the car to get our snacks. However,we were a little gross out because the camels seemed to froth(吐白沫) at the mouth and we had camel slobber(口水) all over the car and us.
It was one of the best family vacations that I can remember. It was not too far from home,it was in a different country and it was with my family.I cannot remember if we went on the rides or not but seeing many animals was a great time. Now I am grown up and have a son,and I am planning to go there again. He is 7 years old and I think he is at a great age to enjoy a trip like this.I am sure it has changed a lot over the years but it will still be a great family trip.

Should electronic cigarettes be a new choice for smokers trying to get rid of the habit?Reactions from Americans are mixed.
More than half of the people questioned in a poll(民意调查) think electronic cigarettes should be regulated by the US Food and Drug Administration, but 47 percent believe the devices should be available(可用的) to the smokers who want to stop smoking.
“In the hunt for a safer cigarette, electronic cigarettes, often referred to as e-cigarettes,are being a popular choice among those either trying to give up smoking or who are looking to replace mon tobacco smoke with a product that producers claim to be
safer,” Zogby International, which did the poll, said in a statement.
About half of the 4,611 adults who took part in the poll had heard about e-cigarettes,which are battery-powered.They do not produce smoke but an odorless water vapor.
Last year the World Health Organization(WHO)warned against using electronic cigarettes, saying it hasn’t been proved that they were safe or helped smokers break the habit.
The WHO said people who smoke e-cigarettes breathe in a fine mist of nicotine in the lungs.
Nearly a third of people questioned in the poll think that e-cigarettes,because they don’t produce smoke, should be allowed in places where smoking is forbidden, but 46 percent disagreed.
Men who were aware of the availability of e-cigarettes were more likely than women to say they should be a choice available to smokers who want to stop smoking.
Young people, aged 18 to 29,and singles were the groups most open to trying electronic cigarettes.
Tobacco is the single largest cause of preventable death worldwide, according to the WHO.
