6.2 AS-i safety slave replacement<br>If a safety-relevant AS-i slave is defective, replacement is possible also without PC and safety monitor reconfiguration. The combined device learns the address for a new or replaced AS-i slave, but not the associated slave code sequence. AS-i slave (e.g., guard door) For replacing a defective AS-i slave, it is essential to identify its address in the hardware plan!<br>Programming Unit Each slave must be assigned a clear address prior to operation. The address of the defective slave must be identified using the current hardware plan and assigned to the new slave.<br>ACHTUNG<br>The slave must always be properly addressed by means of manual addressing unit prior to learning the code sequences. The combined unit learns the address, but not the code sequence of the new slave.<br>Replacement procedure step by step Disconnect the defective slave from the AS-i line. The following malfunction warning appears on the display of the associated safety monitor:<br>1.1<br>MISSING SLAVE<br>This fault occurs if slave no. 1.1 (address example) is defective or no longer connected to the bus line. Connect a new slave to the AS-i line using the correct address.
